Hey everybody, could you please give me advise on what to do next?

Just kidding. Advice/advise is a personal pet peeve of mine.

Irregardless....

Seriously though, we will have met all of our MSR on our new Fontier Barclay’s card, CIP (me), CIP (DH), Amex Business (DH), and still have at least another $3000 that we could put on a card in June.

Do I go for a second CIP? It will barely be 3 months since I opened the first one. I don’t have an Amex Business card. I could go that route and earn more HHonors points. It can be a business expense, or we could put it on our personal cards.

Please refresh my recollection of what Amex cards you’ve opened or applied for in the past 90 days?

Just the Aspire in mid-December, 2018 and the AmEx Hilton business in early February (of this year). Those were my last 2 applications. Before that it was the CIP in September, 2018 (I am a slow churner lol). And the Hyatt in July, 2018. Before that it was the CSR in October, 2016.

I have been putting most of my spend on the AmEx Aspire over the past few months since I need a few more points for our Maldives trip next year. Once I have enough HH points I'll be putting my the majority of my spend on the Bonvoy for our Whistler December ski trip (Westin Whistler -- reservation made -- 400,000 points short )

Yeah - it’s a “ticketless package”. You can book one with Disney by calling in too.

You got your CIP in late Feb. I’d wait until at least May 1st to try for another and really preferably June 1st. It’s great that you can crush MSRs in no time BUT if you go too fast Chase will stop approving you and can even shut you down (don’t do that).

An AMEX biz card would be a great move at this point. It would keep you off Chase’s radar and you can come back for CIP 2 hopefully in June the.

I just referred DH to and Amex Business Blue and he was instantly approved w/o a pop up. Cautiously optimistic, but his only AMEX is a SPG business that he never uses so I was worried. This will be a good everyday card for nonbonus spend.

I agree BUT I think that’s more a symptom of autocorrect and our awesome smartphones (and lack of proofreading) than actual misuse.

How about “could of”, “should of”, and “would of” as opposed to their grammatically correct contraction counterparts.

That’s the one that gets me. Very educated people do it.

THANK YOU!!! These drive me crazy! The one I see most on the boards (not here) is: dinning. Seriously? And those apostrophes. "How are the cabana's on CC?" I can't even deal with all those apostrophes people use to make words plural. I text and the autocorrect sometimes adds those in where they do not belong and it is so annoying.

I can't remember who asked about motion sickness on the Amtrak Acela recently, but I wanted to share I DID have trouble with it this weekend. It's been years since we'd ridden the Acela. We had always ridden the regular Northeast Regional WAS-NYP and that doesn't give me any problems, but about an hour into the Acela ride I needed a Dramamine. I was actually doing ok until I had to go use the restroom, and moving around seemed to do me in. On the way back I just took a Dramamine before boarding to avoid problems. The Acela is noticably bumpier and rockier than any other Amtrak train I've ridden, so that has to be the culprit. I guess it's because the high-speed rail shares the same track as the regular trains. I think I read the upcoming Acela II will be faster and have it's own new track, so hopefully that helps.

It was me. And now I'm really regretting buying the faster Acela train. At least it's only one hour and just one way. It must be the old tracks. I rode on the Eurostar high speed train through the "Chunnel" and that was ok.

When people talk about getting the AF “refunded,” by product changing or cancelling a card, have they actually paid the AF or is the charge just taken off the statement?

And on the grammar front, drives me crazy when people write “lead” when they mean “led.” I see it all the time. Even saw it on a resume last week.

I thought that the only plane in SW inventory that could fly that route was the 737Max. What did they make the flight with? Is there going to be any issue with the new service?

Southwest was using the 737-800 for that route from the start. It was a non-issue as it relates to Hawaii

They do intend to use the MAX in the future it seems.

Your location shouldn't change expecting good manners. Just because some people don't have them doesn't mean we should all just think it's ok and not expect people to still have them. If we all just let it go then things will just get worse. This coming from the person that has told more than one person, including a guy in the bar, that they were missing a word in their sentence. Don't ask me to move over without using the word please. And this was in the south, where manners are still important, though I still think they are important everywhere it's just some people are umm... I can't think of a word to use that's allowed.
