I need SWA help. I am just trying to watch pricing from BNA to HNL and OGG to get a feel for it for the future. I plugged in the cities and there are outbound flight (I hope I am using proper travel hacking terminology here ) but I can't find inbound flights OGG to BNA on any month, any day? I am trying to search via the flexible dates calendar so I can see a month at a time. Also, For BNA to HNL there is nothing, but there is HNL to BNA. Why would there be only one way available for each island? Shouldn't it just route me on a connecting flight through whatever city? It seems that I have to fly BNA to OGG and then OGG to HNL and then HNL to BNA for a roundtrip, but I have to book a OGG to HNL on my own...???

ETA: I don't think SWA would even be a good option for us. We have 2 layovers each way. Bummer.

Now, I’m a little tempted to apply for the Barclay Aa card. All the Barclay posts here make me nervous though. Before I attempt just what to make sure Barclay won’t take up a slot for 5/24? It looks like a hard pull? How bad are hard pulls? I currently have one. I am 4/24 and don’t want to be 5/24.

I want my husband to apply for the Amex business bonvoy card since we use Marriott all the time and the card won't go against his 5/24. He has received an email to apply for it but since I got the same card less then a month ago, I wanted to know if when he applies for the card if he can have the same "business" as me??? Our cleaning business that I do for family that makes only $1K a year. Would he be allowed to use the same one when applying? Also, can I get some kind of extra points for recommending him? Will I need to put that info on the online application when I apply for the card for him. We are re-doing our basement and will probably spending a minimum of $4K within the next month, so it's a good time to get it.

I can't remember who asked about motion sickness on the Amtrak Acela recently, but I wanted to share I DID have trouble with it this weekend. It's been years since we'd ridden the Acela. We had always ridden the regular Northeast Regional WAS-NYP and that doesn't give me any problems, but about an hour into the Acela ride I needed a Dramamine. I was actually doing ok until I had to go use the restroom, and moving around seemed to do me in. On the way back I just took a Dramamine before boarding to avoid problems. The Acela is noticably bumpier and rockier than any other Amtrak train I've ridden, so that has to be the culprit. I guess it's because the high-speed rail shares the same track as the regular trains. I think I read the upcoming Acela II will be faster and have it's own new track, so hopefully that helps.

Otherwise, the Kimpton Ink48 was a gem - loved it! Super quiet area in Hell's Kitchen a block away from the river. Not much in immediate walking distance other than Gotham West Market, but only a 10 minute walk to Kinky Boots. DW wasn't feeling well yesterday so we spent the entire afternoon and evening in the hotel room, and it was really wonderful. Anyone going to NYC that still has an unrestricted IHG free night, check it out.

No rubber duckies in the room, I'm afraid. That's not Kimpton. Or if it is Kimpton, I'm about to have a very interesting call with the hotel...

I'll update the hotel thread with a few pictures later.

Have you been on the double decker trains on both top and bottom? I waited until yesterday to buy my DDs ticket for tonight and they only had upper as an option. I heard you can feel more sway up there and a little worried about that for her.

I have the JetBlue Barclays cc and I like it but don't think most people on here think it's a good one. It's a $95 AF but you get 4 checked luggage for free and 1/2 price on anything else you buy while flying. Plus I get 2 points for all grocery and restaurants and the points for using for a flight are less than 1:1. I am unsure why people don't like it but anyway, I applied for the Barclays 70K and they never ran a credit check and they denied me. Don't know if it's because I already have one of their cc's?

It’s probably a good card for those who fly JB. I’ve never taken a JB flight and the routes aren’t good from where I live so it’s unlikely I’ll fly with them. There are definitely others here who have or have had the Barclay JB card.

I think @pinkxray might be trying to accumulate AA miles though.

If you select the eGC by email, the charge and statement credit/MR posts very quickly.

Note that Raise only accepts Wayfair GCs from select sellers, so reselling can be a little difficult. I believe Cardpool and Cardcash will take them if you’re thinking about resell.

Yep! I've ridden a long distance double-decker on the bottom (City of New Orleans), and the MARC on top. Both were fine, no difference that I noticed. The MARC was probably a little slower than Amtrak would be, though.
