Looks like doctor Phillips (weird name for a town) is closer than Windermere

You might do well with a realtor. Even if you're not buying a home they can steer you away from undesirable places. Congrats to you both!

Thanks! I'll cross my fingers the 7 gift card page comes back. In the meantime, I'll go ahead and send an inquiry. Maybe they would take a phone order....

The thought did occur to me that maybe they're seeing an influx of GC orders because of the Amex Offers, but also maybe they didn't intend for Ebates to pay out on GCs so they took down the page until they could fix the glitch. Fingers crossed, because whatever happened to good ol' fashioned phone orders? Good luck!

P.S. One thing I noticed when ordering GCs from 7 was that they had denominations for $50, $100, $200, and $300 -- no $250 and no option to enter a custom amount -- so that's why I grabbed $200 and $50 GCs to maximize the deal. The $250 charge triggered the Amex Offer email, but stayed pending for a long time. I had already received the GCs in the mail (which arrived pretty fast via FedEx!) by the time the charge finally posted -- but only for $200. The MR points and statement credit didn't post until the $50 charge posted days later. Neither charge backdated to the original order date, so if you cut it too close be prepared to fight Amex on it.

1099s...AMEX...and Hilton...gah! :furious::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::furious:

I'm going to vent for a minute so feel free to ignore this lol
  • In 2018 my wife received 30,000 Hilton points from support clicks right away from r/churning in January. We then NEVER received another Hilton point despite having NUMEROUS folks on r/churning tell me they used my link. Somebody here even used my link and again no points - I figured it was a glitch or something and let it go (probably a mistake)
  • Late Jan 2019 I receive a 1099 from AMEX showing I received 82,090 Hilton points for $550 - that's funny...I only got 30,000
  • I'm about to list a bunch of long calls I made...This is my Wife's account so this is HOURS of Mrs. SouthFayetteFan voice...
  • 2/4/19 - I (wife) call Hilton to VERIFY the 30,000 points in my records (to make sure I'm not missing something) and they absolutely verify the figure
  • 2/4/19 - I (wife) call AMEX, explain the issue. The rep has no clue what I'm talking about or that they even issue 1099s. She is able to confirm that I show 14 support clicks in 2018. 14???? Where are my points!! I finally convince them to open up a case...I will hear back in 24-48 hours...never hear back
  • 2/18/19 - I (wife) call AMEX again - very upset since I never heard back. They have no idea why nobody got back with me. Give them ALL the info again...It may take a couple weeks to hear back (ok so not 24-48 anymore??) and they could issue a revised 1099 then - GREAT, I'm happy!
  • 3/8/19 - Informed delivery shows two 1099s coming from AMEX...yay - hopefully resolved. Open the 1099s...they are the SAME FREAKIN $550 from before :badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc:
  • 3/8/19 - I (wife) call AMEX again - get a MARVELOUS agent who not only understands the issue but tells me that they transferred 15,000 points on 1/12 (yup I can verify those posted 1 day later; transferred 15,000 points on 1/19 (yup I can verify those posted 1 day later); transferred 30,000 and 22,090 points on 1/21 - Ummmmm WHAT? Those never posted...it's exactly 52,090 points...THE AMOUNT I KEEP ASKING FOR...:furious::furious::furious: Why couldn't any of the other idiot reps give me this detail A MONTH AGO!!!!! :badpc::badpc::badpc: Ok so this is a Hilton issue...
  • 3/8/19 - I (wife) call Hilton - try to explain the issue to the agent and oh my, she starts arguing with me that points aren't taxable. Cue my Ron Swanson Meme - I KNOW MORE THAN YOU!!! I finally get her to understand she has filed a case for my missing 52,090 points.
The really sad part about this is that because of this glitch I got 8 support clicks that could've gone to somebody else. That's 120k-160k Hilton points depending on what offer they were running!! Luckily I think MOST of those clicks were from r/churning so it didn't hurt folks here.

WHAT A FREAKIN' MESS!!! At this point I'm supposed to receive my 52,090 Hilton points once they resolve the issue on their end. And I guess I do owe taxes then on the points...I asked them to PLEASE resolve this by the end of the month because I don't really want to pull the trigger on the taxes until I know they posted.

EDIT 1:
I owe @amalone1013 a lot of royalties
EDIT 2: I'm losing my voice because talking in my high voice for 2 hours really takes it's toll on me!!

It's officially decided, I've started the gift card purchases to get myself a WDW AP!! It's going to hurt to cash out URs for $.01/point to cover the cash for the gift card purchases but that's what my budget says I need to do to make these trips happen so that's what I'm gonna do #WorthIt

Example of why I don't want to call Marriott :rotfl: I got to DM them on twitter over my missing referral points that show on my 1099. I can also see them on my Chase statement, they just never made it to my Marriott account - shame on me for not noticing then. But since it was my only Marriott referral all year I didn't think it could be that terrible hard to figure out... Apparently so since we're at two weeks and they just told me again to be assured the internal team is looking into it. :badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc:

I'm looking to apply for another card or two. We are in 2 player mode, so I'll list what we both have:

me:
01/19 Chase Ink Bus Preferred (Referred by DH)
08/18 AmEx Green Business (to close Gold Business w/o losing points)
08/17 Citi TY Premier
03/17 CSP (closed 4/18)
01/17 CSR (converting to CFU)

So, I'm at 2/24 with the closed CSP and Citi TY.

DH:
05/18 Chase Ink Bus Preferred
08/17 Citi TY Preferred
03/17 Chase SW Plus (closed)
03/17 Chase SW Premier (closed)
10/16 CSR
OLD - CF - DH also has a Chase Freedom card which he's had forever.

DH should be at 3/24 including the SW cards which should fall off this month.

We love UR's, but neither are eligible for CSP/CSR. I have a bunch of MR from the AmEx Gold Business card that I've never used.

Looking for suggestions - I'm hoping to keep spot(s) open to go for the SW CP early next year.

Thanks for any suggestions / advice!

What about the other Chase business cards...CIC and CIU...both have 50k UR sign up bonus with a 3k MSR
Or refer DH for another CIP

So yesterday was not a great day...my dear dog1 (the bulldog who looks a lot like my avatar) has a torn ACL and her surgery (if she gets it--DH is being so weird:sad1:) will be about $4500 (est). Insult to injury-the vet specialist does not take Amex. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

So a 4 figure surgery (during which my beloved pet might die since she has a pretty significant cardiac condition) without making Amex happy? Lose/lose/lose. That's my reality right now. I'm so mad at Chase for not approving DH's CIP right now--and worried sick about my furry child.

I'm so sorry about your furbaby.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few other P2s skimming here from time to time.

DH created a dis account a while back after hearing me talk about this thread so much, but I don't think he actually uses it. In fact, I don't even know his dis name. I kept waiting for him to pop up in here, but that never happened.

Wow what a hassle. I hope you get the points put in your account

Great info. Thanks. Yes, I had thought about the issue of not wanting to cut it too close to the offer expiration date before making a purchase. I'd love the Ebates extra 3% but will just settle for a phone order if they'll do it. I did send an email and got an auto-response, so hopefully I'll get an actual response in the next day or two. Turns out Splendid doesn't sell gift cards at all, so that's a bust.

oh my! I might pay to be a fly on the wall for these conversation!!
I take the be SUPER nice approach. I rarely will resort to anger as I think I get a lot more sympathy if I sound like a very disappointed loyal customer. I did have both agents comment on how knowledgeable I was today though. I'm like "Yes I know my stuff, I've done my research", LOL!
