Hi everyone!

I can't keep up with you all! I'm glad you are keeping a page with the News and Discussion page on Reddit, it makes it easy to catch up on the important stuff.

We have really slowed our churning, not for any particular reason just haven't been interested in many cards. DH will earn the CP pass next month and have 130,000 RR, we've already booked our August flights to Orlando just need to get my ticket when we have the CP.

I did apply the the Delta Gold Biz, and I'll have DH apply at the end of April. Any DP on buying a $50 Delta GC to get the statement credit?

Also, DH's marriott biz AF is due, any DP on recent retention offers?

Well, I think you answered a question I was about to ask. My annual fee posted on my Amex Bonvoy (old card no upgrade) on March 2. So it took almost 6 weeks to get your free night? I will be expecting mine after the middle of April based on this and someone else's dp.
Yes, 6 weeks. I have another one coming for the biz so I guess I'll start looking for it 6 weeks after the AF posts.

I just got my first 7-10 day message when checking on a Chase business card application. My recent card applications (not including AmEx business cards) are below - I think these are the only cards/pulls that Chase can see. This is my fifth Chase Business application since 5/18, and I only waited 65 days since my last to apply. It is also the first time I have used my EIN to apply for a card. Do you think I should call in, or should I wait for the letter. I have my EIN letter, anticipating the need to send in a copy, and I'd rather not talk to anyone about my "business" if I don't need to. I don't need the card until April - planning to pay estimated taxes.

02/17 CSP
03/17 AmEx SPG
10/17 Chase IHG
10/17 AmEx Platinum
05/18 Chase Marriott (BIZ)
09/18 CIP (BIZ) (with SSN)
10/18 CitiBIZ AA Platinum (BIZ)
11/18 CIC (BIZ) (with SSN)
01/19 Chase United (BIZ)
01/19 Amex Gold
01/19 CitiBIZ AA Platinum (BIZ)

Agree they probably just want the letter. If you call the regular number (back of card), just say you want to check on your application. They'll be able to tell you and most likely won't ask you anything about your "business". They didn't when I called. It's recon that asks tons of questions. :)

Dh just messaged me and said he got an in-person interview in Orlando! He’s so excited. I’ll probably embarrass him but he said he was shaking and might cry lol. I’m guessing this job really does mean more to him than I thought.

Do you guys know if there is a thread about moving to or living in Orlando? I know there are some bad areas and we would want to avoid those

That's great. Good luck to him. I want to work for Disney.

Automatic approval for the Barclaycard AA Biz with a higher credit level than my Arrival Plus in September (14,000). I guess I am officially on the train?!? Please Disney don’t go away...I have no other conceivable need for AA miles! Thanks to all for the help.

Now that I am used to it I can’t seem to just pay my mortgage by transferring the money (even counting the plastiq fee it just seems like such a potential waste of points to just pay outright). So even though MSR of $1000 on the Aviator Biz I will wipe that out at once with our mortgage payment. Just wishing Chase had more MasterCard options other than the IHG.
Damn why can’t I figure out Barclay? Right @wendow ??

Dh actually mentioned renting first. I would hate to do that since we would be essentially throwing that money out instead of putting it in a mortgage but I also see how it makes sense to get a feel for the area. He said he’ll ask them about where most people live who work there

While I agree that buying is better, depending on your timeline etc it's better to rent for a bit abd get a feel for things rather than jump into buying a house that you may be stuck in for lots of different reasons. Look at the rent as an investment into happiness and the future so you find the right area and house.

Tell him not to forget y'all have a Japan trip planned!!! Is that in May or June this year, right?

Sometimes these companies want you right away.

I need some ideas for a new AMEX biz card. I will apply on Monday for a CIP but I also want to apply for a new AMEX biz card as I have an abundance of spend coming up. I only have the SPG biz and I am hoping for another instant (no HP) approval. Thinking of the Hilton Biz card. Does anyone have an opinion of that card? We can always use hotel points. But maybe an MR earning biz card is a better choice. Also, should I apply for the AMEX card before or after the CIP?

My cards:
4/18 - SPG biz
5/18 - CSR and CSP

My Biz fee posted on 2/11 so I have been checking daily for the last week or so for my free night cert. I’ll let you know when it shows up.

You’re so right. I was thinking back to when we rented in college and that wasn’t the same thing at all because we knew we were going to stay in this area anyway and ended up buying a house

Yeah we talked about that. He’ll have to let them know that because we can’t cancel

I’m eyeing the Hilton biz too but I opted to get MR cards first since I did t have an immediate need for Hilton points and i find there redemption value to be a bit whacky. I went with the blue biz preferred to hold MRs but not a huge sign up bonus. You have lots of options. Amex prob won’t do an hp so it doesn’t really matter what you apply for first. But I’d go CIP then the Amex biz when I’m ready for more MSR.

May not matter but I’d apply for the CIP first....not familiar with Hilton’s....are you interested in accumulating MRs...there are quite a few Amex business MR cards....I got the BBP...not a large sign up bonus but it earns 2x on all purchases
