Yes, it was the Concourse, and it was sooooooooooooooooo good. It's was where the Contempo Café is now.

All this CIP talk, and I don't even have one CIP LOL, Or CSR, CSP, CIU... you get the picture.

I LOVED that restaurant! So sad when it closed. Haven't been to Contempo Cafe but someday when we get back to Disney...

So as I sit here at work this morning, with nothing better to do than update my very neglected TRs... I'm wondering how crazy it would be to take DH to the Iowa State Fair. I grew up going every year of my life to the NE State Fair until they moved it out of Lincoln (still bitter), Also did the first year in Grand Island after moving, so nineteen straight years of fair. DH has never been to one. I feel he needs the experience. Ok lets be honest, I want to eat deep fried oreos on a stick :rotfl:
You want to come all the way here for the Iowa state fair? Lol

It’s fun but not that fun! Jk it’s not bad. I saw the chain smokers are playing and asked Dh about going. He didn’t seem too enthused. Fun fact: my band actually played there two years ago

What type do you use?

I like sticky rice, but we also do Arborio, basmati or jasmine depending on what we are cooking.
funny... I use a variety of rice here, and except for the full on whole grain brown which takes 45 mins to cook, every other type I do exactly the same every time(rice cooker slightly different from IP) it's ALWAYS 2c rice-3.5c water, takes 15-20 mins rice cooker. on the rare occasion I do rice in IP(it's always busy with the main course) it's 1/1 rice to water no checking needed. -in the past I did stove top rice the same as rice cooker, with the exception that as soon as it hits boil, reduce heat to low, place a paper towel between pot and lid,and cover tightly and do no touch. turn off heat at 15 mins. Perfect every time, all 3 ways. the rice cooker is my fave b/c I don't have to pay attention once I hit the on button. (PR gramma taught me to make this years ago)

:offtopic: ....But since there are DVC members here....they are running a contest to win a 4 night stay at The Rivera resort in a 1 bedroom villa...includes 3 day park passes and airfare....contest ends 4/7

Also my September SW fares went down :yay:

hah....I saw that yesterday and I entered. That's about a 1 in a half million chance of winning.

Ah, dilemmas. Our departure flight at the end of the month has not dropped in points like I hoped, actually, all flights that day keep moving up, so I guess it was a good thing I got it with only a 3k pp increase when I booked it. It's not a bad redemption at ~11k RR each but now there's a flight the previous night for ~5k each. We have the day scheduled off from work anyway so we could go the previous night, but that adds another hotel night on to the ever expanding "quick weekend trip" that started out as a way to use my last 2 IHG unrestricted nights and has morphed into a 5 night full blown vacation, so with another night we'd be up to 6 nights o_O

So WWYD? Is it worth saving 11,320 RR points to spend either 12,500 Marriott points or $125 cash on the extra night?

I think I'm trying to talk myself into just keeping the original flight since I'll have SW points coming soon once I finish the MSR on the SW Biz. But I fear I'm missing something in the equation and maybe you fine folk will notice :)
I call any vacation less than a solid week 'just a few days'....:rotfl2: or a 'long weekend' since in my mind a 'real' vacation is at least 10 days...... but I have a travel sickness (according to my spoiled family lol)

Just wondering who among here would change your churning strategy if Chase eliminates transfers between CF, CFU, CIC, CIP, CSP, CSR old Ink Plus/Bold?

I’ve been thinking about that and I would likely still continue to earn Chase points on some of my cards. However, I would definitely consider canceling some depending on the specifics of such a change. It could easily force me to place a greater focus on Amex MR and even TYP.

Just curious on how others view a potential change.

I hope it doesn't come to this. But being a single player at least until DD gets more into it because we do travel a lot together. And she does help with MSR. But I wouldn't mind for now if trans to HH members were cut :duck:haha kidding.

No but seriously if I couldn't transfer from the Freedoms to Sapphires i would just use the CF as was meant to be. Cashback. But would only spend on 5x categories. Same with CSR and the 3x (even though i don't have one yet :rolleyes1).

And would certainly give my HH more love esp on those 5x categories.

1. It doesn't appear to matter whether it's open or not
2. Nobody really knows the answer there - the lower the better to be honest. If you have multiple biz cards, I'd reduce all but 1 to a very low level and maybe leave 1 at $10k. This will increase your odds of auto-approval while also leaving you enough limit to move some over to get approved.
3. It doesn't seem to matter, you could change the name up if you fee better about it...but many report it's unnecessary

Also - THANK YOU for following up with the detail on the report. That definitely is a positive confirmation for what we expected, CIC, CIU and other biz cards should not affect utilization in any way, and most times it is just confusion when somebody thinks it does (and that's ok!)
Gosh I wish I could do this for DH. He is only sitting at 2 chase cards...CIP and CSR. Still holding tight on him in case we take out a mortgage here shortly.

So yesterday was not a great day...my dear dog1 (the bulldog who looks a lot like my avatar) has a torn ACL and her surgery (if she gets it--DH is being so weird:sad1:) will be about $4500 (est). Insult to injury-the vet specialist does not take Amex. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

So a 4 figure surgery (during which my beloved pet might die since she has a pretty significant cardiac condition) without making Amex happy? Lose/lose/lose. That's my reality right now. I'm so mad at Chase for not approving DH's CIP right now--and worried sick about my furry child.

I feel for you on this one. We had the cat who passed a few hours after the $1500 surgery. An emotional decision was made to provide the surgery by my young at the time son and I didn't have the heart to say no. In hindsight we should have let nature take it's course - the cat would have been with us longer. But with a torn ligament and depending upon age of your pet, you have a different decision to make.

Ha! It's definitely a nostalgia thing. Though we did talk about going to IA when they moved the NE state fair off to Grand Island, but never did. One of my very favorite things was the racing pigs... might have to look up where they'll be this summer :rotfl:

See, your band should play again and then we wouldn't go all that way for the fair, it'd be to see your band! I sent DH one of the concert act pages, and he was like, did you mean to send me the Luke Bryan one? I could probably talk him into it if I throw the concert in.

I like that you say the IP is always busy with the main course... sometimes I see a really good deal on an IP and I think... a second to do two things at once! I will probably consider that more seriously when we move out, I would feel bad stashing two IPs in MILs kitchen. We are already storing two Kitchenaid stand mixers now, along with two sets of basic attachments and two roto/shredder/sllicer attachment sets.

I posted on here a few days ago asking for feedback on my plan to ease into churning, and I just wanted to thank you for the suggestions. It had never occurred to me to think about a business card, but last night I applied for a CIP based on your suggestions. It went to pending, but when I called the status line first thing this morning (a thing I didn't know existed), I was approved. I requested to speak to someone and asked them to expedite my card--yet another thing I didn't know I could do.

So now we'll get through this push through this minimum spend in a month or two and start looking at getting my wife a CSR or CSP. I think we dine out enough to justify the annual fee, and will easily use up the $300 travel credit, so I'm leaning toward the Reserve. We're both sitting at 3/24 now, with one card falling off in a few months. (And 1 of my wife's is a store charge card, it seems unclear if it will count--but I'm assuming it does).

Anyway, thank you all for the ideas. And thanks so much for the invite to the reddit group--it makes it much easier to stay on top of this thread.

First they took away Adobe CC, now they take AWS. Last I checked my Google Domains were still coding 3x, for now.

That's right. I forgot about Adobe CC. My wife actually uses this, but thankfully her company foots the bill.

I know..but you’ve got to be in it to win it.lol....Years ago right after DVC built SS...America’s Funniest Videos advertised a DVC only contest similar to this one...but in a 2br villa..tickets, dining plan, flights and $2k cash..my daughter entered it for my husband...and We Won !!.......a lot less members back then so odds were better
