I've only made it as far as this post catching up this morning because I felt the need to say immediately- COUNT ME OUT!!! :rotfl2:

We're set with the dog! And the two cats... and the three horses... :crowded:

Not the same.

Wait 2-3 days and check your HH accounts. Amex is usually pretty quick with posting SUBs.

Lol, yes, I know it’ll take a little while. I’m asking how do I know the HH account #? DH didn’t have one previously...

Chatter from r/churning:

Possible to fly to Hawaii in a day, impossible coming back since SW does not fly overnight. Have to stop in Cali and then fly back to east the next day.

Edit: Possible to book in a single day, cannot book from ATL, MCO, FLL, etc direct to Hawaii as it comes back with an error. Was able to find from DEN with a stop in OAK so could fly to DEN early morning and then on to HNL.

If you want to make use of it from the East Coast, you're going to need a positioning flight or be ok with spending a day or two in the Bay Area - which could be a fun trip nonetheless... it just depends on how much time you have.
Looks like you can go out of LAX too, but NorCal is cheaper. But if you have to stop anyway, add a DL trip on there with the savings from your cheap flights!

I thought SW was flying to Hawaii out of SAN, SJC, OAK, and SMF?

BRING ON THE COMPETING SALES BIG AIRLINES!!

Or don’t bother because those are gonna be sold out any second now...

I bet I am not the only one that has checked availability at Aulani this morning! I have already run several scenarios, but as @Lain mentioned we would have to fly into OAK one day than onto to HNL. Reverse coming back. It is very tempting! Just not sure I want to spend 10 hours each way in a little seat.

I found BWI-HNL on the same day, 2 stops (4 hours in OAK lol), leaving BWI at 8something am and arriving at 8something pm. Lowest price was $162/9800 (?) UR. But there wasn't anything in reverse.

EWR-HNL same day, 9:05am-7something pm, 2 stops (DEN 55 min, OAK 2 hr), same price as lowest BWI flight. The flights are selling out as I check lol

I feel like I've been in a bit of a holding pattern regarding churning lately. We never thought that we'd move out of our current home, but we're actually considering a move to a new town. Since I haven't been able to make a decision on what cards I wanted to apply for anyway, I'm okay with this for now. Plus, I got an email from JetBlue that if I spend $500 on my card in the next month I'll get 2500 bonus points. Since we're not currently meeting a MSR, this at least gives me a little direction.

Also, Companion Pass is now showing in DH's SW account so I just added myself to our next two flights!

LOL, I am doing exactly that now! But for next year, not this year. Just to see if I could get something at less than 7 months. I don't have enough PTO to do it this year, but next September is our 30th anniversary, and I just got my DP yesterday...:-)

So I just applied and got approved for the BBP for 20k MR. I got a ridiculous credit line considering the tiny amount of revenues I put on my app. I'm thinking sock drawer atfer I meet spend, with maybe a couple hundred per year spend thereafter just to appease the Amex Rats. Is there a reason to ask for a credit line decrease on a business card?

Congrats, first! And not necessarily. Apparently for AmEx if they think they gave you too much credit they'll just reallocate from another card to open the new one. It looks like they allocate credit based on your total income, not just the biz revenue, as we've been getting CL's in line with our personal cards, despite only putting the minimum revenue down.

It's not a bad card to throw non-MSR/category spend on as everything gets 2 MR, so I think of it as a 2% card as our minimum redemption for MR points is at 1 cpp. P2 has been keeping the AmEx rats happy, after opening 3 AmEx cards in 2018 nearly all his spend goes on one of them - BCE groceries, Hilton restaurants and gas, BBP most other things I don't have a category for on my cards. It's not terribly much every month, but it's consistent so I'm hoping it keeps him on their good side. Chase hasn't necessarily been kicked to the curb, but it's a complete reversal to how it used to go. I have to check to make sure he throws a few charges over there every once in a while to keep them happy as I want some more UR cards :teeth:

We're also hoping for Aulani next year. Originally we were thinking 2021 because we were going to do DCL next year, but the summer itineraries don't have me all that excited so I think we'll get our OBB refunded and set our sights on Hawaii instead.

The prices for the next round of Disney Cruises coming out today is… bonkers. And some people are saying “hey, that’s not too bad!” I must be living in another universe. Yikes. :scared1:

Yeah, I knew after the last one was at the top of our range (OBB within a few weeks of release I think) that I wasn't sure if we'd be taking another one anytime soon. We might have to stick with *GT's. But I know it's bad when I asked hubby, who has literally never said no to a cruise despite the price tag, if the couple itineraries I could stomach the price on were worth it or would he rather put that money toward the next WDW trip and he said WDW. I could see it pained him but logic won out.

It's not that we won't ever cruise DCL again, but that every 2 years to use the OBB placeholder is out I think. I'm hoping the new ships stabilize the pricing for a little while. I know people thought that about the Dream and Fantasy but that wasn't enough to saturate the fleet. 7 won't hold it for long but I'm hoping after the novelty of each new ships passes we see a reprieve. The only way we've been able to afford DCL is the discounted GC's on top of the OBB. Next one I was going to use UR on now that I understand the points world better.... that was a short lived dream

I appreciate your insight. I don't really have a long term plan right now and I was going to take it slowly, but this was a good offer and no AF.

I left out from my weekend recap that we made another eBags purchase. DH decided the Professional Flight Laptop Backpack would suit his work travel needs - this was the one I expected him to pick. A big draw to him was that not only does it have room for a few days clothing, but he could replace his worn-out briefcase with it and use it everyday, and then just add clothing for trips vs moving everything out of his laptop bag. This also crossed my mind - I know him too well :P

$85 after tax, minus $5 in rewards, paid with one of our mysterious left over VGCs and getting $15.37 back from TopCashBack.
