Yes, but (at least in the past) the one you buy is not the same as the one you get while staying at their 3 premium hotels.

This may have changed, as we went several years ago after HP opened the first phase. We had unlimited rides on several attractions while people who paid for the pass only got one priority ride. Plus we got in early.
I might be wrong but I know they have different tiers of EP. I think one of them allows you unlimited rides but it costs more.

Which Wells acct did you get? There is a $1k bonus after $25k deposit on a business account at Wells. The funds have to sit there for 6 months though - maybe 7 if you account for the time waiting for the bonus to post.
I did the WF Checking. I’ll look at one.

Thanks! Yeah I definitely need to call AA and play around with it too, I just haven’t had the time. We’re totally fine with booking business. I’m basically willing to go wherever is available on either flight, which is why I want to build up a cushion in case I need to book first at a higher mileage rate for one of the flights.

We have flown JAL in first NRT-ORD (just under 12 hours) with AA miles and on business PVG-NRT (2 hr 45 min) using BA miles because BA is distance based so it was on 15k BA Avios each. DH aka The Plane Princess actually said he'd be content to fly their business class product on the long haul in the future. I'd call that a ringing endorsement considering he does not want to fly BA's business class if he can avoid it for an 8 hr flight depending on the plane.

I just got an email from AMEX. They raised my SPG biz CL from 5K to 13K. After a couple of zero months following MSR, I started using the card every month in anticipation of going for another AMEX card. Does this mean they like me, LOL? If so, maybe I should hit them up soon, before they change their minds. For the SPG biz, I was instantly approved and there were no pulls on my credit report so it seems they didn't check. Does that mean they wouldn't check on the next either? How many biz cards will AMEX give? I am planning to go for the CIP in the next week or so, but maybe I will go for two new cards.

Hah that is certainly a ringing endorsement!

Once you have an AMEX for a few months, generally future approvals are done without a HP. They SP you enough to know what is going on. I have 3 cards and have only ever had one HP from AMEX.

AmEx doesn't do hard pulls for us either (existing customers). And so far all instant approvals.

You can do 2 AmEx credit cards in a rolling 90 day period (includes personal and business). Charge cards don't count.

ETA: forgot to mention the limit of 5 credit cards you can have open at once. Again, charge cards don't count.

Those of you trying to get Citi to match the 60k offer, are you sending them a screen shot or link to a public 60k offer??

We are trying to get citi to match the 60k offer too (from dummy booking with higher msr).
I had included a link in my successful message, but that’s when there was a clear 70k public offer or something like that. Not sure where they’re at now to be quite honest.

Okay y'all, I'm at a loss. DH went 2/24 yesterday, March 1 and had a CIP invitation mailer. He applied and I checked today...7-10 day message. Boo! I'm trying to think of why and can't come up with any good reason except maybe his CSR limit is too high at 35,000. Thoughts?

He's going to wonder why AND won't call recon.
It could also be verification of some sort. My parents have to do verification every single time they go for a Chase biz Card. Heck, my dad had to fax in docs for address verification for his card in July, and just had to do the same thing for his next chase biz card. The system is weird. Since your DH won’t call recon you’re waiting on that letter to tell you for sure but there could be hope!

Turns out Dh didn’t pay attention and you can’t use the 15% on this item since it’s a last sale item. Can you explain the United thing to me again? Do we need to transfer points to United to buy a gift card through them? Then use that gift card to buy the backpack?

ETA: I got an email from United saying I can get 500 bonus miles but I have to spend $125 or more first and that’s way more than I need

I think the email offer you got is the same as this United Shopping 500-1,000 Bonus Miles for First-Time Portal Users offer, so yeah if $125 in two weeks is too much, then select a different online shopping portal to shop through.

Checking cashbackmonitor .com, I see you can earn 2 UR/$1 spent at PBK through the Chase UR shopping portal that’s available on your CSR cards. That may be a better option if you’d rather earn 2x UR than 1x United miles. See: https://www.cashbackmonitor.com/cashback-store/potterybarnkids.com/ (I see Giving Assistant is paying out 4%, but I don’t use them and try to keep to only 2-3 shopping portals to avoid diluting my spend/rewards.

Go into your CSR’s UR portal, find the Shop Through Chase section, search for PBK, click through, and shop as you normally would but now you’ll earn points on your purchase. (Note that the Chase portal may or may not “track” your purchase if you don’t use a Chase card, but gift card payments should be fine.)

Separately, download the United MileagePlus X app that’s available for iOS and Android. Log in with your United MileagePlus account number. In MPX, you can buy eGift cards to hundreds of merchants under the “MileagePlus eGift Cards” tab, search their catalog for PBK — I’m seeing 3x United miles/$1, click pay now and enter in the exact amount that’s due in your PBK shopping cart. It’ll charge the card of your choice (you can add more cards in at your MileagePlus account online). The eGC is generated almost instantaneously. Once it pops up, type in the eGC code and pin into your shopping cart and submit your order.

Sometimes gift cards to certain merchants may trigger a bonus category on Chase Visa cards, so you’d use those cards when buying that merchant’s gift cards. But PBK does not trigger any additional bonuses that I know of. Relatedly, if you have a Chase United Visa card and you add that to your MPX account, MPX will earn you an additional 25% bonus miles on every purchase, whether you charge the purchase on the United card or not.

You may earn only a few dozen or hundreds of miles here and there, but adding these extra steps to every online purchase really adds up. Last year, I earned about 20k United miles from MPX, and about 10k United miles through MileagePlus Shopping. Enough to buy saver award tickets for my family of 3 from SFO to SNA when we visit Disneyland. That’s even as I split my online shopping between Ebates and Shop Through Chase as my other go-to shopping portals.

Real talk: with the news that WDW is going to give 60 FP access AND EXTRA MAGIC HOURS to Bonnet Creek and Waldorf, does this increase the value of Hilton points for those seeking Disney travel? I won't lie, reading this news today made me consider putting my Hilton Amex back in my wallet as a normal spender. Free nights at either property would be a nice compliment to my DVC stays.

ETA - how do we adjust our valuations to consider this change? Obviously we probably care more than most when it comes to usage of Hilton points for Disney.

Cool! Another nice option for the Aspire card! Free weekend night annual award, $100 statement credit at Waldorf Astoria benefit, and it is on the list of Hilton resorts that get a $250 resort credit each year. We are so getting a second Aspire card each ::yes::

Thank you!! We are going through chase to get URs. We’d rather have that than United miles.

ETA: well we keep getting an error message. It keeps saying to check our billing and cc info which we’ve done like 10 times. We might try it on our computer later

Thank you!!! I knew you'd have all the answers! I'm glad you posted that language about the lie-flat seats because I'd never noticed that before. I think I'll probaly pick up some Citi personal cards for DH and I. DH is under 5/24, but honestly he's already got 5 Chase cards with a 6th planned for next month so it's like, how many more does he really need... lol.

(Don't answer that, you're all going to tell me to get him way more )

Hah that is certainly a ringing endorsement! Yeah I'm totally fine with business class. Honestly, first class looks like DH and I basically wouldn't see each other for the whole 14 hours hahaha. As long as it's lie flat seats, I'm cool with either one. I really don't need to have a perfectly cooked filet served to me during the flight with a bottle of champagne. I just need to be able to lie down and watch some movies lol.

Glad I saw the post. I've been trying to catch up all morning LOL

Now that I recall the PVG-NRT flight was booked with BA miles because it was a short haul flight and required way less miles than AA. Keep that in mind if you happen to do any short flights within Asia. I'm going to edit that post.

I am pretty content with a lie flat seat and don't need much else.

The seat configuration will depend on the plane. Our seats in first class were these last year. So we were right next to each other. Here is what you see on the plane and what it looks like when checking seat guru.
