I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I have 5 more Slices of Joy from the gift card deal that ran over the holidays! And I need to redeem them all before they expire at the end of this month! Since I usually only go to the Cheesecake Factory once a month to use my dining credit, and I'm pretty sure these vouchers are limit 1 per visit, I'm going to have to make a few extra trips this month just for a slice or else leave money on the table. :scared:

If it helps I think they are one per person/customer per visit. I read the restrictions and used two in one visit (there were 4 of us, but I only had two). We were all on one check and I also used two other gift cards.

I’ve used more than one before at like three different Cheesecake Factory’s over the years.

I’ve used 2-3 and even 4 during last year’s promo, with no issues every time. Different cashiers each time as well.

Never did this so not sure how it works. I need to book a room for dd and her fiancee for a wedding they are attending. The couple who is getting married gave the guests a link to book the rooms through. Turns out it's Marriott...Bonvoy.

While I don't have a Marriott cc I do have an account with points on it. Not enough for this booking but I would certainly like to earn points for this stay. How do I go about this.

Because when I click on their link choose a room and sign in, my info (name etc) populates of course. So do I just remove my name let my Marriott # stay there and book it from there. And dd is an auth user on the card I'm using for this And will have the card with her.

Or should I just not sign in and just book it as a guest under dd name.

Just want to be sure. Don't want to leave them "homeless"...

So this may not help anyone else, but I have been lazy in not signing my kids up for airline miles. I didn't want to have to keep track of 3 more email addresses. Frontier would not allow me to sign up the kids with emails; I had to call. This was actually awesome, because the kids' miles numbers are now all under my email address. It was really easy (10 minute phone call). I wish I would have checked into this with other airlines as we flew St. Louis to San Diego - Honolulu - St. Louis last summer! I only had accumulated miles for myself because it was such a hassle!
I signed my kids up for Delta SM as soon as we booked their first flights, this coming Nov. to WDW. Nice thing about Delta, points never expire. Now if only they would credit me back all the Northwest miles I had as a kid.

Real talk: with the news that WDW is going to give 60 FP access AND EXTRA MAGIC HOURS to Bonnet Creek and Waldorf, does this increase the value of Hilton points for those seeking Disney travel? I won't lie, reading this news today made me consider putting my Hilton Amex back in my wallet as a normal spender. Free nights at either property would be a nice compliment to my DVC stays.

ETA - how do we adjust our valuations to consider this change? Obviously we probably care more than most when it comes to usage of Hilton points for Disney.

One pair is the blue sparkly bow with black sequin ears that came out in 2016 and the other are my DLP ears I got last spring. I did also read that some ears aren't as tight and holding mine up together you can see the DLP one's aren't as tight but are still too tight. I never thought to look and see how close together the ends are when I buy them.

I really like the small world ears but the price of ears has gotten crazy. At least I'd get an ap discount but still. I also don't like wearing ears my entire trip, though if they fit better that might change.

I can only wear them for a short time cause I get a headache as well. I need to try dd's IASW ones and see how they fit. She bought them on the 25% off sale they had recently but yes, the cost is still crazy, imo. She wears them around though lol, not just at Disney, so I *guess* it maybe makes more sense for her

You can make ears pretty cheap. I’ve made several for my kids and I. My favorite is belle’s. I made the bows to clip on so they can exchange the bows easily if the headband breaks or gets stretched out. My pic has the belle

southwest companion question - I added my son as my companion. I called in to adjust my already booked flight to Denver that had both of us on. Now I have my confirmation # and a companion confirmation #. Do I need to check in with both confirmation #s or just mine? I was thinking they would be tied together.

Companion tickets always get their own confirmation number, which unfortunately means you have to check in separately.

I love SW too..fly out of ISP which is 10 minutes from my house so perfect...

since you fly SW a lot I’d recommend going for the companion pass...to do so you’d have to close the 2 personal cards you have...since you can no longer have more than one personal card
Apply for the SW business card for 60k RR points ..if you’ve sold anything on eBay or thought of doing so...you qualify.....then at least 31 days after closing your personal cards apply for o e of the personal cards with the in flight 50k RR link...it’s float around on this thread..you get 110k RR points and the companion pass

I’ll add my husband...was not interest at all and thought cc rewards were a scam last May ..but is now fine with me opening any in his name...he will still only carry and use one at a time
Thank you for the advice!!! A few more questions if you have the time.
Do I need to call to cancel the Southwest cards? Both cards have small balances, do I need to pay those off prior to canceling? When I cancel do I lose the RR points, I have 13,000 and finally, how long do I wait after canceling can I reapply?

TIA!

My DH deals with our finances now because he insists he wants to bank online and handle the bills online, too. I just can't go there at this point.

I did not like the idea at first, but after switching to online bill pay, that's all I need, combined with my banking account.

I'm with Navy Federal and I love their online bill pay. All my cards are listed in there, in addition to electric, gas, water, insurance and whatever else I pay on a recurring basis. I don't do automatic payments, but I check it (minimally) weekly and pay when the balance gets posted if it's a large one or I wait a while if I have a lot of little charges.

And, with Chase and Amex being the bulk of my credit cards, it's pretty easy to open up Amex or Chase and check quickly for any balances. I know I've always got something on my Amex and Chase cards, Citi Costco and BOA Amtrak, and that the rest are sock drawered except for the annual fees, such as the Radisson card with US Bank.

All my deposits show at the end of the month right now, so it's easy to know if my budgeted allowance to myself is running low. If I need to transfer in some money I can do it from one of my savings accounts, but that is extremely rare. It's only happened when I took advantage of a lot of discounted visa gift cards, and then the money went back as I used the gift cards up.

So, I don't use formal budgeting, but I work with a budget - my pension deposits. And this works for me. I haven't yet tapped into Social Security, and I think I will soon and just set up another account for it. Later I'll decide what I want to spend it on. Same with my savings in my retirement accounts.

Hi....yes you’d need to pay the balances before closing the cards....then wait 31 days before applying for the same card

You don’t lose your RR points...they are tied to your SW RR account....you can have an account and points without a SW credit card

I'm sorry you had a headache but a nap is pure heaven. No better way to spend an hour in the afternoon!
I seriously can not remember the last time I took a nap. Maybe when I was sick. If I try, I usually just lay there awake, pondering. I’m just not a nap person, it usually backfires and just keeps me up later at night.

It does give me options but OTOH it also decrease value of EMH because it will make it even more crowded. We rarely use EMH, instead hitting the parks that don’t have EMH that day.

Looking for next bank bonus recommendations:
Completed:
Discover- DH and me

In progress:
Wells Fargo- DH and me
Chase- me

Can’t Get Work:
PNC- DH and me

Chase is the only one I have a bit of funds tied up in as I wait on that $10k savings deposit that earned a whopping $.08 last month.

Any suggestions?

This is one of the things I really like about Universal. They have no plans of expanding the EP to other hotels besides the 3 established deluxe hotels.

I think this just makes things more crowded and worse for onsite guests.
