Just playing around with some dates for a London/Paris/etc trip next January... holy smokes, batman, is an economy ticket on United from DEN to London really running $2k???![]()
I think it's a bit high. And that it's because it's still early. I was on a cruise group FB page for our DCL Europe cruise last summer and paid attention to the chatter about air, even though we used MRs to book our tickets so did it early. People were finding that 11-12 mos out it was expensive, but a couple months later airlines like Norwegian and Iceland came out with low fares (I remember Norwegian had OAK-CPH for around $450pp). In general, I'd rather use points, but if you want to pay cash I'd watch it carefully for about a month or two since there is a decent chance it will go down.
That's what I see. Playing with flying into London and home from Paris, can be done in Economy for 60k points and about $88. In 2015 I was happy to fly IcelandAir for $913pp - boy how times have changed![]()
I think that's a good point redemption, and a high cost for flying Iceland. My DD is flying from PHL>Barcelona for under $500 this spring. She and her friends bought their tickets in late November, so about 4-5 months before they leave.
Chase updates-received the $300 R-C airline credit after 6 back and forth SMs. Slightly annoying but worth it I suppose.
Also called and pc'd my CFU to a 2nd CF so I can take advantage of the drug store (another $1500 in dgc) 5x perk.
DH received a citi biz AA flier with 9 number code-is this what I need to jump on the grAAvy train? If so, do I need to cancel my biz first? I know there is a lengthy write up and I think that's the procedure but just double checking before I get on board.
I'm sorry it was so hard to get the airline credit, but your post is helping relieve some of my FOMO on the RC card. They shouldn't make it so hard.
