CHASE to issue corrected 1099 forms per DoC
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chas...-forms/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

They issued an official statement:
We sent out some IRS Form 1099-MISCs with incorrect dollar amounts from Chase Bank USA, NA. We apologize. We’re double-checking our files and will send out Corrected 1099-MISCs to affected customers as soon as we can.

The only problem I see here is how do you know if you're somebody that's owed a corrected one or not?? At least it's good they are working on it!

(Added to news thread...)
I'm hoping my correction means that I'm <$500 and shouldn't have one at all. So how would I know that without calling?! I guess I'll be calling. No worries as we don't do our taxes until the 11th hour due to family business!

A couple years ago when the whole 1099 thing happened with Chase I received a large 1099 for numerous referrals. Apparently they reconsidered their position and they issued a corrected 1099 showing all $0. I'm not sure what they will do in this situation, but my guess would be that corrected 1099's will come to everybody who had an issue even if they are going back to $0.

I got yet another preselected flyer in the mail today from BoA for 40,000 miles with 2k MS, I used the code, and got approved for the Alaska Air card! After just going through their declination! I am hanging up any applications for 12 months, thinking of even freezing my credit for one year so am going to look into how to do that. My FICO has taken a hit I'm sure from inquiries and applications over the year. There is nothing left I need to go for except Hilton/Marriott but right now, slim chance now with this I'll be taking United, AA, or Delta, still have 69,000 SW points, so now I am talking a pause to any applications.

Unbelievable how this works, they declined me earlier this week, and I went through the reconsideration line to talk to an agent to request reconsideration and was declined again. Then a preselected yet again comes in the mail today and I figure what the heck try again all in a week, and I'm approved. I've been getting as I said before, preselect and even a few preapproval mailers for the longest time, but hadn't wanted to do anything until now. What I did differently this time is number one, I used the preselected mailer with the code and website, and then I used all sources of income, last time I applied I did neither - I went directly to the Ak website and applied from there thinking there is no real difference in consideration. Maybe that was the difference. This is a little higher MS and miles, so have to work on that. Anyway, just FYI.

Our school had us show up because the snow didn’t start until around 9 and they’ve cancelled school before only for it to not snow at all. They missed all of last week so they’ll have lots of days to make up.

We live in a culdesac so our street rarely gets plowed and if it does they half a$$ it. Dh won’t be home until 4 or later I’m guessing. It stopped snowing but now it’s blowing

This post makes me so glad to live in my little corner of North Alabama. 80 and sunny today!

There was a short discussion on the r/churning DD thread about people feeling like they're hitting a wall in the game:
https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/ao2n53/discussion_thread_february_07_2019/efy0zf3/

We've always said around here that there isn't a right or wrong way to churn... However, with all the restrictions and issuers tightening up it is MUCH easier and less stressful to be a slow-churner these days. Embrace those large MSRs, consider getting one card at a time, and make sure every card you're applying for is helping you reach your travel or financial goals! Those in 2 player mode probably feel less pressure to get new cards as you can alternate between spouses...in single player mode it can be tough to pass on MSRs so consider cards with high category bonuses that you can use between bonuses. (Think CIC, Discover, CF, Amex BCP, Amex Gold, etc.)

Slow-churning will make it harder to generate enough points for multiple large trips a year. Make sure you're self-supporting (primarily AMEX) or cross-supporting (with AMEX or Chase) wherever possible with spouses. Also make sure whenever you can to support other DISers who you've found helpful as you can help them reach their travel goals!

My DH enjoys Hawaii because it's tropical but it's still the US. I think going out of the country makes him a little uneasy. Plus DH is Asian and with all of the Japanese tourists I think it makes him feel more comfortable, not to mention all of the Ramen shops! Oh, and the Hawaiian people are some of the nicest people in our experience! Of course I haven't been since our honeymoon 11 years ago! Hopefully 2020!
I haven’t been to the Caribbean but in Costa Rica, DS (who is Chinese) was very noticeable and frequently stared at. I assume in Hawaii he’d “blend” more. In Chicago no one bats an eye.

so not starting out very well with citibiz AA. I got instant approval with a good size CL but upon adding my log in information the site times out and said an unexpected error occurred please try again later. Also, they did run a credit check on Experian. I just got the alert.:(

does anyone know about citi aa biz cards? do they hand them out like candy..i mean like amex. lol. does citi report to your personal credit report. do they require any biz info?
I’ve gotten 2 in the past 6 months. Not exactly candy, after the first you need a mailer without the language saying you’re not eligible if you’ve gotten the bonus in last 24 months.

ETA. I see @SouthFayetteFan outlined it nicely

Ditto!
They just ran the initial plow pass on our cul de sac. They only make a swipe around the outside edge, and don't touch the middle. Just that pass dumped so much at the end of the driveways that I can't see my neighbors snow blower that she is using to move it. Only the stack that's blowing it out!

That's just an inquiry though - not an account. I'm not sure many people even worry about inquiries much anymore these days :)

I think you just need to wait for the card to arrive to setup a new Citi business online account. That's what I did and it worked fine :) Some folks have reported issues but eventually get it all setup.

argh I clicked submit and it didn't take??

I tried again and a brief "verifying your info" flashed onto the screen but disappeared and just the application is there without anything else. like nothing in red saying I missed something

frustrating

Im sorry just flustered. they did a Hard Inquiry on my Equifax. so that would still hurt my 4/24 status for chase? I have no problem waiting on the card for my log in stuff.
