So it seems DH's $150 is MRs from me opening the BBP. So you'd say they are worth $90, not $150?

And I just realized there is a 2nd paper. $502.50 for his Hilton biz. That is really worth $251.25?
Yes for the MR. No for Hilton

***Hilton at $502.50 is 40,200 points at 1.25cpp. So it should be $201 at .5cpp***

***EDIT: New valuation of Hilton is actually .67cpp. The original people couldnt do math apparently. So 502.50 is 75k Hilton points at .67cpp. So it should be adjusted to $375. Not $201.

For Marriott the easiest to prove would probably be .9 cpp they valued the 29ways prizes at. For example, they valued 50 Marriott points at $0.45 in the T&C (https://29ways.marriott.com/en-us/rules). I understand in reality it probably averages a little less now, but I can't fathom how AmEx can justify 1cpp when the rewards program itself doesn't.

Good Info. I’m going to add that to the original post, thanks.

Had to transfer 46,000 ur today to book my flights on southwest for August. Annoying when my sw biz 60k points will post tommorow, but oh well. Flights already increased by like 5k points each round trip, so I’m glad I didn’t wait. I only booked 3 tickets and I’ll book my son tomorrow as a placeholder until I officially have the companion pass. Then I’m going to have a lot of sw points, I thought I’d be using them for my August trip

I also canceled my spring break universal hotel I booked through the chase travel portal as I found an annual pass hold rate for a king suite for less than I would have paid for a standard view room. My husband and I are almost giddy about the idea of not sitting in a dark room at 7 pm on vacation. Will use the arrival plus bonus I’m currently working on. Was going to use that for Disney, but I have 7 months until that trip.

Now I’m going to buy universal tickets though the portalwith the points from the cancelled room and upgrade one to a seasonal ap for like 15 dollars once we get there.

Next plan- how to fund my stupidly expensive wilderness lodge free dining trip in August since I can’t use UR anymore. I’m thinking bank account bonuses.

UGH. I don't think my Chase push to my new PNC account is a DD. It is showing on the transactions as JP MORGAN CHASE TRANSFER. And I didn't get an email that a direct deposit is on my account. It isn't hard to do through work but I had hoped it would have just worked with a Chase push.

Have you received other emails about deposits? If not, maybe alerts got turned off? When you expand the transaction does it show as ACH CREDIT or ACH WEB PAYMENT? Here's two from my account, the one from CapitalOne triggered my bonus. I suspect the one from Synchrony wouldn't have, but it comes through as a DD and counts to avoid the monthly fee at least.

You're probably fine. Click the little down arrow and see if it says ACH CREDIT. My Chase pushes worked.

New news. Hilton was not valued at 1.25cpp, it’s actually .67 and people suck at math. Sigh.

Also- Hilton capped at 82,090, which when you multiple by .67 is $550. Exactly what they cap all the other cards at. So there ya go.

You should still adjust it to .50cpp however.

Thank you! I got the SW business card with points last year.

What website do you recommend I visit to get the scoop on the latest churning information?

Have you signed up for our private DISchurners reddit group? There's a post there outlining an option to get both SW personal cards, but it exploits a loophole so it's a personal preference on your risk tolerance so I'm not necessarily for or against it. The inflight offers on the Plus and Priority cards are still higher than the public offers, they have so far worked while on the ground so that would get you close (100k+) then you'd just need spend or other ways to get the rest of the points this year. PM @Lain or @Albort your reddit name to get access (or our benevolent dictator @SouthFayetteFan but he's visiting the Mouse right now :) ) to view the posts there.

:lmao:

That's awesome we all were ticked off all day because no one else did the math  Guilty as charged, I never followed up with any of the numbers, just took what everyone said as gospel cuz it doesn't affect us this year.

I agree with .5 cpp, though, .67 is stretching it. If you use the MR > Hilton transfer rate of 1:2, even giving AmEx the benefit of the doubt at 1 cpp that still only makes Hilton the .5.

Dh bought Disney gcs on raise today. It was spend over $100 to get $10 off. We spent $98 and got $110 in gcs. We plan to use them for meals while we are here. It’s roughly 11% savings

On a separate note, I got emailed a code for $3 off 10 Lyft rides. We are using a Lyft to get from yc to cbr today so it will cost us $4.50 lol. No way would I pay for a Minnie van when I can just do this
Awe man, and I missed the MC No fee sale last week, this would have saved me 20% on Disney cards. Ugh.

And this is why I get confused. So you're talking about half a penny but then it seems like 67 cents but really you mean 2/3 of a penny right?

I don't do accounting, it was the class I struggled with in college, give me regular math (not this new math) any day. So I can do decimal points and fractions but when it's put like this I see it as 50 cents before I realize it's half a penny. :teacher: :badpc:

I know Citi is not the most popular around here, but am I wrong in noticing Citi has changed the eligibility on the bonuses for its TY cards?

The Premier now says "Bonus ThankYou® Points are not available if you received a new cardmember bonus for Citi Rewards+SM, Citi ThankYou® Preferred, Citi ThankYou® Premier/Citi PremierSM or Citi Prestige®, or if you have closed any of these cards, in the past 24 months."

The relaunched Prestige says "Bonus ThankYou Points are not available if you received a new cardmember bonus for Citi Rewards+℠, Citi ThankYou® Preferred, Citi ThankYou® Premier/Citi Premier℠ or Citi Prestige®, or if you have closed any of these cards, in the past 24 months."

Rather than mentioning opening or closing a card in the past 24 months, it just mentions earning a reward or closing a card in the past 24 months. I was concerned over the forced PC from Forward to TY and did not want to deal the the gray area where Citi claimed it was fine. I am thinking even if I chose to PC the card a year ago it would be fine since I did not receive a bonus.

I think I'm missing something. Are you concerned about her spending more than $500 a month? Mine had a virtually unlimited credit line (on the card, not with her parents LOL) and barely even used it. Maybe because if she did charge something on it, she knew she would have to pay for it when the bill arrived. We used it to teach responsible spending, but every kid is different and mine just isn't a spender.

Can you just set an internal/family limit with her? If you don't think she can follow that I'm not sure what to do other then capping the line at $500. Ironically that was DD's first limit (on her own Visa) but she had to wait until she was 18 to get that card. She applied at the credit union where she kept her savings account, so she wasn't a "new" name to them.

Yes, dd is a spender. As an example, she has a morning face wash and also an evening one. Weekday body washes and weekend ones. The list goes on.

I'm only comfortable giving her a $500.00 limit to start and seeing how she does with that. Her schedule is crazy busy -- she doesn't have a spare minute for a job. Plus dh spoils her a bit too much I think

@calypso726 @Lain I just heard back from the Embassy Suites where we put up our out-of-town staff for our annual party in December as the points for room nights hadn't posted and the sales manager stopped communicating with me. I have a business relationship with the Assistant GM, so I e-mailed her and she got back to me right away and said that they would be crediting my HH account with 12,000 points for the stays this year (2018) and another 12,000 points for the room nights last year (2017 - dh never gave his COO his HH number). So I should be almost at 360,000 once my bonus from my (still waiting for) Hilton Business card (which I NEED tomorrow to do the PIF for our AB Japan trip) posts! That was super easy! I am being careful to sprinkle some money on the Hilton Aspire so I don't get cut off any bonuses :D

Nothing in the mail from Amex today. Maybe they'll forget about me... I only had one Hilton referral. Definitely will not be using any referral links in the future!
Do you mean you won’t be listing any? Feel free to continue to use - I’ll always pay some taxes to get free money LOL.

I’m probably not going to attempt to earn Hilton pts. via referral anymore though. I don’t have a great use for those so that is wasted tax obligation.
