I don't do accounting, it was the class I struggled with in college, give me regular math (not this new math) any day. So I can do decimal points and fractions but when it's put like this I see it as 50 cents before I realize it's half a penny.

Right Half a cent per point. cpp is faster for me to type than finding the $ for the "$.005/pp " I'm not really a math person either so it sometimes takes me a second to read it all correctly. Oddly enough I was good at Accounting (and briefly considered being an accountant before I realized I'd be bored) but I had to get a tutor to pass my required Calc class. Sounds hard to believe the way I like to trot out numbers but I have to think hard about that, sometimes with a scratch pad, before I type it all out This is really one of the worst games for a non-mathy person to play since it's all about the numbers! Makes my brain hurt.

I’m probably not going to attempt to earn Hilton pts. via referral anymore though. I don’t have a great use for those so that is wasted tax obligation.

Still coming out ahead even if it is taxed so I’ll continue to self refer. I’m going to be disputing Amex MR valuation at 1 cent per MR and try for .6.

It was our fave, too, until the whole dog thing. DH and I are both very allergic. So BC it is, for now. I really want to try BWI but no trips planned at this point.

They don't clean the rooms enough so it would still be an issue. And nothing is worth the health issues allergies can cause (it's not like I'd be better once I left, so I just can't risk it). I didn't have allergies as a kid, and I have to say they are a real pain. I was sad when they used YC for the test hotel.

I see the Citi prestige is now open for applications. Does anyone know if the 4th night free can be used for Disney hotels? I see you have to use their concierge to book? Anyone know if they have Disney hotels and what their pricing is like?

I had read you could use the fourth night free on Disney hotels before the relaunch, so I would hope that hasn't changed with the new 2x per year limit. There is also no redemption bonus on the Presitge (it used to be 1.25 on airfare).

I have the TY Preferred and pulling up a random room from 4/2 - 4/3 and comparing to Disney looks pretty similar. It seems the general public discounts apply:

SW also had an offer listed on their page where you get 15% bonus on points that post in February and March. So if I understand it right, if you signed up for one of the cards and got the minimum spend bonus you would also get 15% on that as well. Depending on how much you spend it might get you close!

Have you received other emails about deposits? If not, maybe alerts got turned off? When you expand the transaction does it show as ACH CREDIT or ACH WEB PAYMENT? Here's two from my account, the one from CapitalOne triggered my bonus. I suspect the one from Synchrony wouldn't have, but it comes through as a DD and counts to avoid the monthly fee at least.

You're probably fine. Click the little down arrow and see if it says ACH CREDIT. My Chase pushes worked.

It does say ACH Credit. Sounds like it should be good. I don't know if I have alerts turned on or not! I just opened it on Saturday and there is only the one deposit from opening and the transfer from Chase. Now I am working on the debit charges by loading to Amazon. I assume I can do like 10 right in a row and not wait and do one a day. How long does it take to receive the bonus?

I have a few emails from PNC about the virtual wallet, survey, nothing on my account activity. If this $5000 works, I won't be doing anything else here but moving to a lower level account with lower min balance to remain fee free.

I'm just concerned about the DD requirement. unless I can 'play' with what that actually is, I can't switch my current DD situation simply. thanks for the info- I'll have to ponder a bit on this. IS there a high rate of denials for this? esp. if two spouses each open an acct?

A denial would be if you've opened a lot of checking accounts. My issue was identify verification. It seems to be a fairly common problem with PNC. Seems whatever system they use sometimes has wrong information. Don't worry about it until you actually encounter it though, plenty of people open accounts with no problems.

*Sorry ahead for the long story*
We rented a sea raycer today and it was one of the best things I’ve done at Disney. We just signed up for half an hour. While we were in the water we noticed a bunch of speedboats driving past. Turns out a transportation boat at hs was on fire and smoking so they had to go help. These sea raycers are tiny boats and we are full grown adults so it was tight. Near the end of our time a speedboat came around the corner and the wake was large. We went over it and water filled into our boat lol. We were completely drenched but we thought it was funny. The manager at the boat rentals said our rental was free and even bought us lunch at hurricane Hanna’s. I told him he didn’t have to because it actually made it more fun for us but he insisted. Anyway, everyone should rent a sea raycer but your experience might not be as exciting

Haven't done the sea raycers but we have enjoyed pontoon rentals. Might have to try the sea raycers at some point.

Omg I would have freaked the heck out! (Because Gators, which my head says gators stay away from loud noises but my brain goes 'omg SO big & SO many teeth!!' Yeah, common sense can't beat my gator fear ) Glad you had a great time with it all, sounds like an adventure!

On one of the pontoon rentals we did at WDW we were told to stay away from a particular area. They didn't want to explain why, but I kept pressing and found out it was a nesting gator!

@calypso726 @Lain I just heard back from the Embassy Suites where we put up our out-of-town staff for our annual party in December as the points for room nights hadn't posted and the sales manager stopped communicating with me. I have a business relationship with the Assistant GM, so I e-mailed her and she got back to me right away and said that they would be crediting my HH account with 12,000 points for the stays this year (2018) and another 12,000 points for the room nights last year (2017 - dh never gave his COO his HH number). So I should be almost at 360,000 once my bonus from my (still waiting for) Hilton Business card (which I NEED tomorrow to do the PIF for our AB Japan trip) posts! That was super easy! I am being careful to sprinkle some money on the Hilton Aspire so I don't get cut off any bonuses

Great on getting the extra points! If the new card doesn't come in by tomorrow, make the payment with another card. Then, when the new card comes in, call back and have them credit the previous payment and apply the balance to the new card. I did this once for an MSR but didn't time the arrival of the new card in very well.

I agree. I prefer the BC decor over the darker colors of YC, but I felt like our room at BC this time was sub par. We had plumbing issues...sewage backed up into the sinks...and the carpet was stained. There was tons of dust on baseboards. It was kinda gross.

They definitely need to update the rooms at bc imo

My favorite non-thrill ride of any park. Jealous of the print and I haven't even seen it.

I saw a dog in the lobby at YC on Monday. Thats the only one I saw, but we were staying at BC and didn't leave the room much due to all the sickness we had going on.
