Yes I can. I jokingly said that on my first call, something like “she’s lucky I didn’t hit the cancel button” and the rep told me I would get in trouble for that. Now of course after typing this today and getting blown off on twitter I am stewing and I am guessing no one but basic reps are around at this point until Monday.

And how did they allow her to change things in my account? Don’t they ask any info to verify identity when someone calls?

Get in trouble?? For what? There's a flight booked on my account that's not mine and I didn't make the reservation- I'm canceling the flight!!!

I have this shirt. Seems like a lot of people mix this up, lol.

How’s about AA fixes this by Monday or another one of their customers will get in trouble with the police? Sheesh.

Hello!

I'm looking for some advice on a CC to apply for to help with airfare cost. I have never used points or miles for flights, so this is new to me. We aren't frequent flyers; the last time we flew was 2011, for our last Disney trip. I'm planning a trip in May 2019, so I don't know if I'm too late to the game or not. The cheapest flights I can find are with Spirit or SW. I've been debating on the SW Rapid Rewards card, but putting $4000 on it quickly might be a stretch. And if it takes me too long, flights may be gone. I don't even know how quickly I receive the rewards once I reach the $4000 mark. I need 5 round-trip tickets from OH.

Also, I thought about applying for the Disney Visa to get the $250 cash back after spending $500. That seems attainable. But it's also a Chase card.

Chase accounts I already have:
Chase Freedom
Chase Amazon

Thank you for your help :)

I probably would of been confused and cancelled the flight ..not understanding how it could be booked in my account without me knowing...the whole situation is so crazy that it takes them that long to straighten it out

DANG DANG DANG DANG!!! the 13yo is going to Washington DC in May. Her next payment was due. I do it and then the ex pays me back, so I can earn points. I made the mistake of using my CSR, I just burned my travel credit for the year in Jan! GRRRRRR!!!

I mean I guess that means I pocket the ex's 1/2 but still I like later on being able to use that and think I'm somewhere for "free".

Hi and Welcome......if you can open and put $4,000 on the SW card you’d get RR points plus the CP to book some flights...the downside is you’d have to wait until they were in Your RR account to book and by then the cost could go up.
You mention having a Chase Freedom account...how many UR points do you have on it ? If you have a lot you could product change it to a Chase Sapphire Preferred card and then transfer the URs to Southwest to book flights

I’d look at it this way...you now have $300 to spend however you’d like ....treat yourself...you deserve it !

Yeah, I was thinking with the 30,000 points and CP I could almost cover our airfare cost completely. But that's at the rates I'm seeing today.

I don't have any available points or carry a balance on the Freedom card. I didn't know I could use UR for SW. Do UR convert to Disney gift cards by chance?

Nothing for you on PL? I keep hoping as my dates get closer, better deals will come along but I see that probably isn’t the case.
Nothing worth noting. CBR express deal is the same as the rate I already have through wdw direct. I believe I saw a ASMu fam suite for $180. Thats about it. I even considered doing S/D or a DS resort and they are priced high for some reason. I guess I could redeem Hilton points, but I can't bring myself to redeem dolphin for 4 nights...I lose the 5th night free and have to pay $60 in parking/resort fees a night too.

"in trouble" how? Will they ground you? Send the cops?

Too overwhelming for me. Luckily other threads in the Budget section travel at speeds between 45 and 65 mph.

Hi - welcome to the thread. You're correct in saying that you're a little late to be working on flights for May 2019. I'm not sure I'd risk getting a card and hoping flights would still be there. We almost always recommend Chase cards first, BUT in your instance you could look to an Arrival Plus or Cap One card with some sort of travel eraser to handle this expense.

OR if you have a side hustle or small source of add'l income - you could qualify you for a business card. The Chase Ink Preferred offers 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points for spending $5,000. Those points are worth $800 cash back or MORE if redeemed for future travel.

One thing you may want to decide is, are you a "drive-by" friend or a "join the game" friend...Aside from your current trip are you interested in traveling more in the future? A Drive By friend is looking to get a card or 2 and that's it. A join the game friend is ready to jump in with 2 feet and consider a strategy of 5+ cards in the next year to attain awesome travel goals.

Please consider joining our DISchurners private reddit group. I'll drop you a PM about it! There you can see where we keep some of our best tips AND potentially support another DISer when you signup for a new card :D
