This was our activity today. Haha. We
compared Samoa’s vs Aldi’s version. Girl Scouts won out by a very narrow margin for DH and I. DS liked Aldi's. But Aldi’s was $1.35 for 18 and Girl Scouts was $4.00 for 14.

I now think it's good that we don't have an Aldi's nearby...

First DISchurner Baby competition added to the News thread...
For more details on how to enter...well gosh kids, when a mommy churner loves a daddy churner...I can't do this...

OMG :rotfl: I can't stop laughing.

You don't have to do this...there are books now that explain all that mommy/daddy churner love...

:rotfl2:

Guaranteed source of organic spend for the next 22 years? Should make hitting those MSRs a lot easier.

So very, very true. DD has definitely been a huge help in us meeting all those MSRs. :thumbsup2

Girl Scout cookies were $5 for me too. Its hard not to help support some of my coworkers kids (the ones I like at least HAHAHA). I did some boxes cash and then another coworker sent me the online link. I wish I had known about the CIP 3x before I committed to the cash sales, but oh well. I will still enjoy my Tagalongs and Samoas.

For those without an Aldi, Keebler also makes similar cookies. "Coconut Dreams" are Samoas and "Grasshoppers" are Thin Mints.

If you booked the cruise on your card when it was a CSR and earned 3x travel, I would think that your refund will result in 3x taken back even though your card is now a CF. I think the 1x deduction only happens with refunds on CF 5x categories and maybe Chase Pay promos? Please let us know how it works out anyway.
I will definitely update. I will just be super impressed if they take 3x because it's been over a year since I put the deposit now.

This weekend, I bought our trip insurance for the cruise. That puts us at $3250 remaining on my Arrival Plus spend with ~2 months to go. I also updated my tracking sheet for my CIC - $980 remaining with ~2 months to go. DHs SW Biz statement closed last night and today I can see the statement with the 60k RRs pending, yay! Obviously that means I will check his account obsessively until they show up, I'm hoping for tomorrow.

I went ahead and paid off our cruise fare with my accumulated gift cards, final tally is
  • Regular rate = $4658.68
  • Had OBB discount = $4190.66 + $100 OBC
  • Paid $812 deposit on CSR
  • Paid remaining $3379 with gift cards acquired for $2428, ~28% off. If I'd know all the details on switching to Costco, that would have been another $400ish... next time!
I also drug DH out again for more Kroger fuel point deals. We picked up $1500 which should average out to ~15% off with Discover and gas savings. That will go towards ILs cruise fare. We're also hitting up the BB/SB deal for their portion with VGCs from Staples/Lowe's with the AMEX offer, so if everything goes according to plan that will save ~$800 on their remaining fare. About $300 of that would be from Aunts share. Our current plan is to use that savings to first 'buy' OBC before the cruise to cover the gratuities on their room, then give the remainder of the $300 to Aunt as spending money (we always joke when she tries to give us $20 for something silly that we will just turn it in to more Disney money for her, which is what we did for our wedding trip ). ILs excess amount may be spending money... or it might go towards another trip, if we pull off a 4 day-ish trip to Disney and Uni with them sometime this year. All savings is going straight back in as cashback, this is basically the only time I cash out Discover cashback as a statement credit - when it's directly buying Disney GCs lol.
