i agree a CIU or modified DD if you want to get the PP sooner. Then a CIC for P2. You could sprinkle in some AMEX biz cards - maybe a BBP or another SPG biz for P2. I also love my PGR so I’d recommend a spot for that at some point too.

Well that’s very sucky! How many inquiries does he have in the last 6 month? They may say that they want to “see how he uses the Arrival” before approving another card. I agree with @kidsfirsttrip that it could be a spacing issue.

That’s an awesome value for such a low AF. I just saw that there’s a new public offer for the card: 50k pts for $4k spend (only for military, veterans, and family members). Would be a good time to apply for anyone who is eligible.

I haven't really browsed the redemptions yet, I've always used my GoRewards for a visa gc. I don't use the card currently, but my son is overseas using it since his debit charges ftf and this cc doesn't. He has no interest in getting his own card right now. Since he has no official mailbox I have no interest in sending him any other card. His new version of this card is currently sitting in the mailroom hopefully. My fingers are crossed the package is still there when he can go retrieve it.

Sorry-I agree with others, Barclay is pretty inquiry sensitive AND wants to see $$$ on their cards. Maybe put some regular spend on his Arrival + and try again in two or three months.

He's already met the 5k spend on the arrival+ and has been using it for all non-category spend so it's getting regular use. He has 3 inquiries in the last 6 mos but they have been Nov, Dec and Jan. I think that is the problem. It's okay Citi awaits!!

Definitely thinking too many inquiries! I knew they were sensitive and am not really surprised.

Did you call to determine if it was really a denial, or did you use the status checker? I’m thinking based on his recent Barclays application that it may be a firm denial, but Barclays application says “denied” when what you actually need is identity verification. May not be the case for him but could be worth it to call and ask.

Prepay. $175 at a time. Can be done twice. I also had a $0 balance; did a prepayment of $175 and triggered the Amex Offer. 10k MR posted two days after payment. Note the AT&T offer comes in two versions, 10k MR or $100 statement credit.

I got the 10k MR offer on my Biz Plat and just made a $175 prepayment on our AT&T Wireless account. Got the "Congrats for Using Your Offer" email immediately Will just make sure the 10k MR post and then will do another $175 prepayment.

In other news, I decided to apply for the Barclays AA Aviator with the offer of 60k AA miles after a single purchase. Got the "we need more time" response from Barclays. I haven't applied for a Barclays card in eons, but I would't be surprised if they don't like my recent activity with other apps. No big deal if I'm denied. Is there an automated status line for Barclays that I can call?

I’m convinced my kids are in cahoots. My 14 year old has been extremely difficult for the last week. Today he’s been great. So my 15 year old who is usually super easy has a meltdown over my suggestion we try a royal Caribbean cruise instead of Disney. I give up!

Okay y'all, I'm at a loss. DH went 2/24 yesterday, March 1 and had a CIP invitation mailer. He applied and I checked today...7-10 day message. Boo! I'm trying to think of why and can't come up with any good reason except maybe his CSR limit is too high at 35,000. Thoughts?

I’m a terrible sleeper. I often lay in bed for hours before falling asleep, or fall asleep then wake up and can’t get back to sleep. I feel like I’m always tired but if I try to nap it’s the same as at night, I just lay there awake.

That was me for years. Then I started sleeping better (not sure why, but might be linked to some OTC non-drowsy allergy meds that my doctor wants me to take - I know it definitely helps in any case). Then last night I was wide awake. Until 4am. So I guess it's back.
