AAAAARGGH - I've committed the cardinal sin......missed a payment on DWs CIP. :badpc::badpc:>:( Its only a day late - i thought I had everything set up before I went on vacation, but clearly missed one.

Anyone able to advise on likely impact of future chase personal card applications - I had the CSP or CSR lined up for DW in the near future. Do I need to wait a couple billing cycles before applying? longer?

So mad.....really need to get myself set up on mint or quicken or something. 30+ credit cards to manage is inviting the odd mishap here or there.
Call and tell to them you were on vacation and have a lot going on in your life. Remind them you are a loyal customer and always pay in time. They may reverse the late fee and give you “grace”. I’ve had success before

Why don’t you just use automatic payments?
For me, 20+ auto payments from one checking account would be more havoc. I don’t keep all my money in our checking account. Sometimes I make a payment from another account especially if it’s for something I spent for our rental, like the new roof I paid for last year. I have a separate savings account for rental property expenses.
I actually have a paper calendar where I list each card/mortgage/car payment. Each payday I go in and pay everything due the next 2 weeks from the appropriate accounts. Works great for me, not for everyone.

Maybe - DW won't want to be potentially answering questions about her 'business'. I am less worried about the late fee, and more concerned with the impact for future applications.

Same day as I was, but mines not here yet :-(

I think several of us applied on the same day. @wendow maybe? I'm a bit confused on how I'll hear back about the match request . . .

@SouthFayetteFan Did your extra points just magically appear in your account? I believe you said you never received a response from them, but I also recall you saying you had to ask 3x. I'm confused.

I sent a secured message to Chase when I was late before and they waived it.

I have not received my card yet either. I've already met the MSR lol but want to SM for a match with the card in hand.

Agree on trying to get it waived - you can do it via SM.

As for future applications, I'm curious as to what others think. I can offer my data point. I had a returned payment (apparently due to typo account number - but I couldn't see it since it wasn't the last 4). Payment wasn't actually late since I paid early. This was in November. Applied for the CIC in January and had to go through recon to get it approved. They asked about the returned payment (among other things). BUT the initial denial may also have to do with my Chase velocity and not lowering credit limits (under 50% income, but guess not under the number they wanted to offer me).

Don't know if this helps any!

Its a personal thing - never liked auto payments, plus often use different bank accounts.
Ah okay. We only use one checking account to take money from so it’s easy for us. We would be too forgetful to pay each card off if we didn’t have auto pay.

I have automatic payments set up on all my cards- BUT I like to go in and manually pay them every pay day. Just my quirky way of doing things. It's how I've always paid my cards even before churning. But this way, at least if there's one I forget or something slips by then automatic payment is there to pick up whatever's left of the balance. I never really pay attention to when my statement ends or the due date unless I'm waiting for points to post! haha

I got a letter denial on the first match. An email denial the 2nd time I think. Then I got an email approval the 3rd time and the pts posted with my stmt close. Some people on Reddit have mentioned never getting any response but seeing the points post.

I was wondering what to watch out for - thanks!
