I had the Sams offer on exactly 1 of my 4 zillion sign ins. One of my kids AU cards on my Delta Plat Pers. Not the other kids card, or dh's card, not mine, just one kids LOL. Not on any of the other cards that we have. I had Walmart on almost all of them but I don't do Walmart.
I still have the Sams $45 off of $45 offer but I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. Does anything stack with it anymore?

Doc lists 2 new AMEX offers, $10 off $15 for Uber and $10 off $50 at Sam's Club online. So far I've only found uber on SPG Lux, no Sam's.

Definitely. As I reread my response, "caught" was definitely the only word my coffee-deprived brain could conjure, but a better term would be "noticed" by the IRS. Would they even notice your adjustment? Maybe. Probably not.

The only reason I personally am a little more leery of this is because the IRS noticed something on our taxes last year. DW previously had a job she left, and moved money from her 401k to an IRA. Once she passed the waiting period last year at her new job for her new 401k to be set up, we moved the funds from the IRA to her new 401k. This is a pretty uncommon transaction that looks weird, and there's no easy way to explain what this is on a normal tax return. And indeed, the IRS saw it and interpreted it as an early IRA cash-out, and asked for $2k in extra taxes unless we could adequately explain why we did not owe more taxes. That was an unpleasant few months of waiting for their response even though I had everything in order and even sent in the applicable tax code describing what we did as allowable.

Point - even if you're unlikely to be noticed, it still happens!

I actually liked the word “caught” as it perfectly captured what my irrational fears are all about LOL!

I've been out of the loop a few days so trying to catch up as I am sitting on my taxes as well. Are people trying to subtract the AFs to offset the referral 1099s?

I personally am not planning to do this. I’m only considering disputing the value on some of the points.

My Walmart now has bring it out to your car service so I’m considering hitting up the grocery offer for the first time.

Yes, and I do have the AT&T offer and I don't use them for anything.

Most days I'd like to give my 7th grader away OMG, he is so disorganized and everything I have tried to do to help has failed. And to think to ask to actually study for a test? I am hoping his new school can assist since his current teachers are no help. I have asked and asked for suggestions from them with no response. It's like they would rather see the kids do bad.

I feel your pain. My 8th grader is doing me in and most of the teachers aren't very helpful.

All three were on my SPG Biz but the Walmart and Uber were also on my Gold card so that's where they got added. Does Walmart code as grocery on Gold? Oops - I keep confusing Walmart and Sam's.

Ha ha - we moved from one state to another literally the day after DH found out that he had passed the bar in the first state. Fortunately he didn't have to re-take the multistate, but taking a second state's bar was PAINFUL! How long do you have to wait until you get the results?

Head spinning because the 2020 summer DCL cruises came out today and nothing is exactly what I expected and now I have to rethink things...

Thank you so much for this summary. DH has the AT&T deal on his Biz Plat, but it says 10,000 MRs instead of dollars. At this point we will take whatever we can get. I don't see the Uber/Uber Eats on any of my cards.

For the Sam's Club deal, can I get a $50 GC if I'm not a member?

I forgot you weren't taking VA and only read the first part and was like no way Virginia switched to the UBE!! I actually didn't even know this existed until very recently when our current intern told us about it. Lol no way CA or VA is ever buying into that... We just hired two people from FL and they both had to take the VA Bar. I told DH we were never moving until I retire or if he wanted to move he better plan on me being a housewife!

Haha Memoirs of a Geisha is one of my favorite books! I actually just finished rereading. I always cry at the last two pages of it. I do agree it's a book you should read when you're much older though lol. I had a conversation with my 16 year old niece recently who was asking me if she should read The Handmaid's Tale. While I do think she is mature enough to read it, I told her I thought she should wait until she was a little older to really get the full impact of it. I read it for the first time when I was 19, and even then I don't think I fully grasped all of the concepts until I reread it when I was a little older.

Yeah, I haven't reread the Handmaid's Tale since I had kids - don't think I would be able to take it as an adult (I can't watch the show either - kids in peril/separated from parents is a hard no from me in entertainment). I love Memoirs of a Geisha - its time for me to reread that one, if I can rescue it from DD's room. My copy is falling apart - I may need to get a new one! We seem to have similar taste in books - have you read Kate Ross? Historical fiction mysteries - there are only 4, but they are amazing. The first one is Cut to the Quick.

The waiting sucks. It has been years and I am still grateful I never have to take the CPA exam ever again and that it is one exam nationally instead of the state-by-state bar exam crap.
