Woah...lol that's hilarious! So uhhh which one do you like better, LOL?

Also reminder to request a match for 20k more miles then by doing this:

When logged into Citi, Click “Services” then “Credit Card Services” then “Request a credit limit increase” then “Request your Card agreement”. That will bring you to the "hidden" SM screen.

Say something like: “I noticed there is a higher offer of 60k AA miles. Is it possible to match my offer to that one.” It may help to actually include a link to the higher public offer. That higher offer may require a larger MSR but in practice they just give you a match (up to a max of 20k pts) without requiring any additional spend :)

Thanks for this info. I was just approved for the $40K with $2K spend and will definitely give this a try.

I've never had to deal with it, so can't answer from personal experience, but there's a long thread on Flyertalk about the card's travel benefits. Did you pay for any part of your actual airfare with the CSP? Sorry you experienced travel problems!

Thank you! No. We only paid for the baggage. We did pay for a non-refundable room the first time our flight was rescheduled. We were not able to get a credit for that charge, but perhaps with the flight interruption benefits we can. I know that policy doesn’t require you pay for the airline tickets with the Sapphire—just part of the travel.

So, @SouthFayetteFan or any other train riders who want to chime in, if I do not want to mess with my 5/24 or dhs 5/24 just yet, should I get him the citi AA biz or should I get the Barclay AA biz. That would be 50k for me on top of the 70k I’ll have soon. If I get him onboard, looks like best we can do is the dummy booking for hopefully 60k.

Does it even matter? I have dd’s CIP coming so I really cannot take on more than one AA card right now. I can pay my mortgage though so one month will more than cover the 2k spend.

That's very...consistent :rotfl2:

Would you expect any less from AMEX?

Also should add, If they say no once...just try again via a separate message. I actually had to try a third time before I got a favorable response, lol!

Did you wait until you had the actual card to do this? It let me pick a login and password when I was approved, but of course I just get an error when I try to login with it.

I know, everything thinks I'm crazy. Although, you can get from one end of my state to the other in 45 minutes, so I assumed I wouldn't be traveling too far. I'm sure after the fact I'd be saying careful what you wish for, haha. I probably wouldn't get anything interesting.

Yaaaaay jury duty!!! (From someone who fervently and desperately needs jurors to show up to court, dear god, please actually be here I know it's inconvenient but holy crap we have to get this case over with).

I know you're a good person who shows up though :) But seriously, it's tough to get jurors to come in.

I want one of the ones like on TV, lol

The first time (I've been called maybe 3 or 4 times in 18 years here), I was fairly new to the city and its scandals. So....I had no idea the case was as big as it was (walked outside the judicial bldg with CNN/other news vans outside). Thankfully, as always, when the defense heard my occupation they had no interest in my participation (rats). And funny you mention tv, there have been a couple of documentaries on it that I've watched. I wouldn't have minded so much to get out of my job for the trial, I hated my job:laughing:.

I have never seen this topic addressed on this thread, so here goes. We obviously have some VERY knowledgeable people here that have a wealth of talent about credit card churning/points. Have any of you considered consulting folks as a side gig? I would say that a very low percentage of the population is aware of what we do, and probably less than 1% have any working knowledge of how this even works. I have helped some friends get started and it takes time, energy, and good communication skills to bring someone up to speed. So what about consulting people as a side venture (solves the problem for those that say they don't have a "business" to boot!)? It would be sort of like a financial advisor that works with individuals, but instead of financial products you are only selling your expertise and successful strategies. Services could range from basics all the way up to actually offering and implementing a complete game plan.

When people see the thousands of dollars to be saved and the dream trips that they can take, I believe folks would pay for the service. After all, it has taken most of us years of daily research to get to where we are today. If you could shoulder all of that work for somebody and provide them with similar results, I believe a number of people would pay for that work and expertise.I realize there are websites that do this, but I am talking about a personal, individualized service.

What say the I love credit cards so much family? :)

It's Home Depoo (no, I didn't mispell it :rolleyes2). The delivery time for today was scheduled for 10AM-2PM. And I just got a call at 12:42PM! telling me the delivery is cancelled because of the weather! UGH! You really couldn't call me and tell me that earlier?!? Another wasted work day. It's now rescheduled for next Tuesday, so the fridge saga over here continues....
I feel you.... we had both fridge and mattress issues in our case ( no bed and what happened to the delivery!?!?)

So I told you guys about my frustration with the kingdom hearts game and people not returning it on time. Dh and I took our stuff that we wanted to get rid of out of our basement to a video game store and got $55 in store credit. So we bought the new kingdom hearts game for $5!

So since we were tweeting at Chase the other day I decided to tweet at Marriott about how I can't see that 25k night in my account. I just got a response that they fixed it and its there!
Now that you've had a taste of Twitter Power there is no going back! Have you gotten an airline to fix something via DM yet? That is a sweet rush of accomplishment! (which is ridiculous because they only ever have to fix what they broke but still :) )

ive done this before, i did in fact have one guy contact me and was willing to pay me for service rendered... he ended up paying for dinner + $80.
Its pretty big business out there... i know a few ppl who charge like $45-$100 per successful award redemption as this is one of the hardest park in this churning business.

I think it matters: If I were you...I would go for the Barclay AA biz. You have 2 rooms to book which each cost 148k miles, but you can't combine points from you and your husband to book either room. IF you get the 50k Barclays you could book your room (with about $280 OOP costs). Let's say you don't earn anymore AA miles then - you could book 1 room that way and book your other room through discounted Disney GCs and cash out URs if you wanted. If you each have a small amount of points (60k-70k) that's probably a worse position. Given that you have a relatively short timeline to earn these, that's the path I'd choose. If you had 10+ months until your trip (i.e. like we have 11 months) maybe I'd advise something different...
Thank you. I was thinking the same. Do you think I’ll have any trouble getting the Barclay biz since I just got the arrival+?

I got an email today that I could register for A-List status from SW through May 31, 2019. I happen to have two SW flights coming up in April, so this will be very nice to be guaranteed A boarding (or boarding right after the A group) and also to get the 25% points earning bonus on those flights (since I used travel funds/cash to book). It was under Promotions in my account if anyone wants to check whether they were targeted.
