I like AA miles as long as they don’t mess with my 5/24. I’m not ready to abandon URs and the 1cpp cash value is too sweet to turn my back on. I could see using 1 slot for a really lucrative AA personal card offer but I’m not jumping on the train full force personally. With enough pre-planning, I think I can earn 300k+ AA miles a year without touching that 5/24 status and that covers my WDW hotel needs.
I think if I had a year until our trip, I could do it too without going over 5/24. I'd rather not abandon UR's either. I still don't have the CIU or CIC and my CIP is coming up on 2 years here very soon. Dh is only 2/24. BUT I think me not getting on is the difference in us staying at Pop or mod or us getting to split-stay at MK/EP. We haven't gotten to do this in two years so it's SO tempting!!

Can I blame it on these...:earsgirl::earsgirl::earsboy::earsboy: who need me for this...:teacher: (currently having science experiment fail)...and got a couple who are :cold: (sick) and trying to do lots of :laundy: and down to the wire with a couple of Disney trips for clients and feel like :badpc:

I so wish I could sit in a recliner in my basement looking up Disney stuff all day. #LifeGoals :cutie:
I love that you painted a picture for us all through emojis

You know, I've always wanted to do that! I finally got called about a year ago and was ready to go and I got a call the day before that it was cancelled. I was upset, lol.

haha, surprised u want to go. My mom keeps getting pulled to Jury for some reason(once a year)... and they make her go all over the place now (40 min drive one way with no traffic).

If DL hotels are on there then we might need to get an AA card. Dh has been asking about going to DL for awhile now. He wants to pair it with our Japan trip, but we will already be gone for 3 weeks and I would want to do DL justice.

You can also stay off property for a significant amount less. We did the Fairfield Marriott and we loved it. If I can get these miles for free I’d much rather the Grand Californian though. That hotel is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is amazing. I’d totally plan another trip maybe you can even use AA miles to fly there too.

I know, everything thinks I'm crazy. Although, you can get from one end of my state to the other in 45 minutes, so I assumed I wouldn't be traveling too far. I'm sure after the fact I'd be saying careful what you wish for, haha. I probably wouldn't get anything interesting.

Ah you sound like my BIL lol. He always wants to go but hasn't been called ( I think the few times he's gotten a summons they don't call his number even)

I had it oh, 2 years ago I think. Filled out my info sheet, watched a video about being a juror from the 80s, they told us since it was county court it's usually traffic accidents. I had to go up as an alternate while they were picking the jury... it was a kid who had charges of kidnapping, rape, assault :scared: I was the last alternate that didn't chosen, phew! So I got to sleep in compared to a normal day and spent ~2hrs total.

Guys I don't like Informed Delivery any more

Because I have a jury summons in the mail

:badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc:

Yaaaaay jury duty!!! (From someone who fervently and desperately needs jurors to show up to court, dear god, please actually be here I know it's inconvenient but holy crap we have to get this case over with).

I know you're a good person who shows up though :) But seriously, it's tough to get jurors to come in.

Oh boy. Yeah the one I was called for was county too so I'm sure boring. I want one of the ones like on TV, lol. I watch the ID channel all the time. My DS is like why, then you are stuck in a hotel room for months with no contact with anyone!

One comment should be made about the Graavy Train - it seems incredibly overdue for a shut down. I can't imagine that it will last too much longer, and the train wreck will undoubtedly come sooner once we all climb aboard. It's something to consider when making your plans.
Agree and have been thinking the same thing. Which then makes me wonder do I go all out and get as much as I can when I can??

watching the most recent shut downs, your Graavy train will most likely hurt your Chase accounts. Amex will probably FR you for a sudden spike but i have yet to see any one shut down from the FR as long as u prove yourself.
Chase however it seems like a different story. the past 2 shutdown that was posted here are triggered by a random big spendings... theres also another one i saw on a facebook group with similar characteristics where she made a very big purchase on a hyatt card and was shut down.

so that going forward, id say no big purchases out of the blue with chase if your on the train. if u have big purchases, probably best to put on other cards or a card u spend similar amounts...

disclaimer: this is my 2 cents and may not be accurate.

I've only been called for jury duty when I lived in San Jose. I can't remember if it was county or city but it was for the week classes started and I didn't think they'd let me defer for school so I took my chances. My number got called for Wed so at least it took a few but that was also first day of classes. Luckily I got picked right away and was the 2nd picked to go to the jury box. They didn't like my answers and I was dismissed so I was home by lunch and made it to my first class on time.

I think it was for a domestic violence case which wouldn't have been fun.

You never know... I'm county and we've had two that I would describe as "holy crap this really is like the stuff you see on tv" lol. But we're not required to put anybody up in a hotel and it was only two weeks long :)

Dh had jury duty last year or the year before I can't remember, but he got to sit right by the head basketball coach from the local college. He took a selfie with him and everything lol

I just need one of me making snacks/meals...cause I hear "I'm hungry" fifty million times a day! As soon as I walk into the room, I hear, "mama..." and I say, "I know, you're hungry". It's nonstop  Someday, I know I will miss this!
That's funny because my SIL just mentioned something similar about my nephew yesterday. He's 3 and this is what he had for lunch: a whole sandwich, chips, a ton of strawberries, a pack of peanut butter crackers, and STILL asked if he could have a grilled cheese. I couldn't even eat that much food and he's 3!

I had always wanted to do it until I had to sit on a jury federal court and be responsible for sending someone away to prison for a long time due to the 3 strikes law. His poor girlfriend/wife/whatever broke down after the verdict was read. I felt so guilty. Never want to do jury duty again.
