I’m open to business cards since I’m perhaps a “party planning” side business. I’m looking at SW premier for 60k points and $99 AF and the Premier for 70k points and $199 AF. What is the better offer in your opinion?

First I think you have to decide if the SW Companion Pass will be beneficial to you. If so you could get both of those cards three months apart and you'd have the 125,000 points needed. You'd want to make sure all those points post in 2020. If you don't think you will get enough benefit from the CP then really the Chase Ink Preferred is a better card than both of those. 80,000 URs, which can be transfered 1:1 to SW with a 5,000 minimum spend in 3 months, $95 AF. And I think your prom thing fits a "party planning business" perfectly!

ETA: I see I'm a little late, good luck on your application, but if you haven't submitted it are you a member of Dischurners? There are support links there so you can give back to people who you have learned from.

Also I love this thread more then some of the Disney threads I would have never noticed this without seeing it in the Disney email, I also think its great that there are people outside of Reddit who are into this as much as I am :)

Had no idea there was a forum. I’ll check it out.
I just put other services other personal services and all other personal services on the general industry category and specific type. Does that sound right?

I applied for a CIP on 10/18 using my DH's link. I was approved the next day, but this is the third Tuesday since I applied and no 20k on his account. Should I be concerned yet? I always worry about the link not working correctly...

It took my URs almost a month to come through, but they did. Interestingly, they came through right after I posted my concerns on dischurners. I'm now waiting for another link bonus to come through. It's been just under 2 weeks. I'm not worried yet.

I think I am in AMEX pop-up jail. Tried to apply for Amex Gold, screen said I was preapproved but when I clicked submit I got the popup. Then I tried the Amex Everyday Preferred and the same thing happened - pre approved and then the popup. My last Amex was the SPG biz in 3/2018. I also have the Delta Plat Biz received 11/2017 and did a Delta Plat Pers open in 6/2017 and closed 8/2018. Any thoughts on if the Delta open/close is the issue or would your guess be low spending?

That said, I have a large expense pending that I thought I would put on a new card to meet the initial spending requirement for sign up bonus. Besides the 2 Amex, I have Capital One Quicksilver, 2 Chase Disney (no fee), Chase CSR (9/2017), CF (1/2018) and CFU (8/2018) and I am 3/24. I tried for CIP a while back and was denied.

Thoughts on a new card for me??

If you met the spending requirement and then hardly used the cards again, that definitely fits the criteria for the pop-up. How much closing a card affects it is less clear. You may be able to get out of pop-up jail if you put spend on your cards. But it's unclear how much spend and for how long.

Do you know why you were denied for the CIP?

Amazon is running a bunch of gift card deals right now offering between 10 - 20% off - $10 off $100 Lowes is amongst them.

Petco / GAP/ ULTA Beauty/ LL Bean / TGI Fridays / Chilis / Steak'n'Shake/ Fandango /Krispy Kreme/ Panera Bread. ....... and more

Ah, that would mIght sense since they wave the AF for them but I thought they never paid an AF.
Good point. That speculation is probably wrong then. Maybe it was just a mistake, but still weird!

I'm more and more confused right now with this aspire offer..... is it a god or a bad thing? It sounds awesome if you don't get a popup....what is the hazard here? I'm seriously thinking about it. Just unsure about those credits if they're useful to me. ETA sorry another edit here....too much to read this fast. I'm not playing with fire I guess. It sounds ugly -until things settle down I'm out.
Offer is gone for now, but I'd probably be out until things settled down, too, if it came back.

Looks like Amex is clawing back statement credits from a 10% back Dell Amex Offer if you stacked it with the Biz Plat's $100 Dell benefit.

This is just ridiculous! As others have said, I stacked but there was no option not to stack. When they are going after piddly stuff like this makes me wonder about the health of the company/program. Either that or someone wants the program lean and mean. I love my Business Plat and Gold Card, and DH loves his Schwab Plat and Business Blue, but they need to stop making them so difficult to use or those high fees aren't going to be worth it.

I concur. I think this is going a step too far even for AMEX RATs. This was a flaw in Amex's system in allocating stacking benefits to a customer - this is not Gaming or abuse of the system. I think someone at Amex is getting paid on commission for everything they clawback. Not Good.

They didn't like my "business" To be honest I didn't argue it very well when I talked to them.

I know. I'm wondering if I should push back. I put 6 figures on this card, and the only "gaming" I've done is buying SWA gift cards for my airline credit. My dell purchase was legit (Phiips Hue lighting).

Did you apply as sole proprietorship, with your SSN as the tax ID, and your name as the business name?

Were you denied and called recon? Perhaps the app was too close to another Chase app. Or maybe your total Chase credit limits were too high?

If you want to give more details, we can troubleshoot if you want to try again.

so If I'm reading this right, you get a free weekend night plus a $250 resort credit? which could be used together for a nice weekend somewhere? And I'm trying to recall...is this the airlib=ne credit so many were having problems with this past year? How is it best used?
I used the $250.00 credit and the free night both to go towards our upcoming stay at the WA Maldives. So, I'd say you can use both at the same property.

This is getting ridiculous. Makes me not want to get more than the one card I have except I need hilton points. But it may keep me from expanding into mr and trying for a platicorn. I don't know that not getting or losing customers is the idea but most people won't even know this is happening.

since we are only seeing this on reddit has anyone HERE actually had it claw backed?
I know the site being down isn't helping right now but the mobile app works. And im not on AMEX side just curious.

I'm really wishing for an eyeroll like/sad/angry thing - not for anything anyone here is saying but for Amex being a drama queen about some of this stuff.

Yep, we did the same with airline GCs, but the Dell purchases were real (one laptop backpack and one wireless router, both for DD) and it's likely that deal stacked with one or the other. Considering how much spend (organic) we put on Amex cards this seems really petty.
