I had the same response at my Staples today. They wouldn't split tender on the VGC. In the past if you could find someone that could do the split tender, they didn't have an issue. Today, they asked the manager and he said no.
not many know how to do the split tender. I've had managers who didn't know you could split tender.

Great picture!!! Sorry you didn't get to do the half - that sucks.

Out of curiosity - why don't you fly too?

In the past, I would have answered "I like trains and the ride from DC is easy and quick" and while that is true to some extent, I've not often talked about the real reason because I'm very ashamed of it and have only recently come to terms with it. The truth is I'm very emetophobic, at times dehabilitatingly so. Couple that with chronic vertigo easily triggered by motion sickness and flying can be a total disaster for me.

I've spent most of this year working on my issues and I hope to be able to fly again issue-free next year, so hope springs eternal.

Flying is challenging for lots of people, for lots of different reasons. I appreciate the honest answer. Glad you are finding help that is helping you progress. Both my daughter and my husband struggle with flying for anxiety related reasons.

You're lucky you live in DC where you can get to a pretty good range of places via rail!

Do you foresee travel plans in the near future where the CSR's benefits would be better for you than the CSP?
I see more potential travel than we typically do happening over the next two years, which is why I'm really trying to rethink if I should keep or upgrade CSP. This is probably the question I need to walk myself through. If I don't upgrade, what advantages would I miss out on by keeping CSP rather than try for an upgrade. DH already has a CSR, so we tend to put travel related expenses on his. Our WDW trip will be paid on his CSR with just a resort balance of about $1300 and tickets, flights are already paid with a points/cash combination. We have a cruise on the radar using partial UR points and partial cash payment.

Didn't know you already had a CSR in your family! Well then, shoot, I would downgrade your CSP to a CF or CFU. CF if you can take advantage of the quarterly 5x categories, CFU if not. Your DH can add you as AU to his CSR - the date it will show up on your credit report will be the date that the CSR shows up on your DH's (note this is for Chase cards, not other issuers) so if that was more than 24 months ago then it doesn't add to your 5/24. Also, if his AF has posted and been paid, the additional $75 for AU probably won't show up until his next AF renewal. In any case, the $75 AU CSR fee is less than your $95 CSP fee, and you get all the benefits of the CSR.

eta: I can't figure out any benefit to upgrading your CSP to your own CSR since you wouldn't receive any SUBs for it. Unless you're intending to use the GE credit, I don't know how you would do better with paying a higher annual fee for it. Especially since you can pool all URs into your DH's CSR account.

Will applying for a Target RedCard DEBIT card result in a credit check, count against my 5/24, or otherwise impact my ability to gobble up all the Chase cards I'm planning to get over the course of the next year or so?

ETA: Sorry! Should have searched before asking. Saw some pretty recent posts that the debit card is fine and won't foil my well-laid Chase plans!

I went back and forth on whether to get the CSP or the CSR and landed on the CSP since the SUB was larger and DH has the CSR and is keeping it. I can't find a (math) reason to upgrade mine to a CSR since we get all the benefits of it by using his card. Of course, YMMV, but with one in the family I just couldn't justify the cost of the AF.

Hi everyone, I have a CSP that I've had for 12 months and thinking about upgrading to CSR. I think it may be beneficial to upgrade for the $300 travel credit per year and the points on travel/dining and 1.5 redemptions on Chase travel vs waiting another 36 months and applying for the CSR and sign up bonus (and then not sure if I'd have to cancel the CSP first). So, still thinking it through whether to request an upgrade or wait.

My questions are: Can you hold the CSP and the CSR at the same time, or can you only have one sapphire and one needs to be cancelled (if I wait rather than request upgrade)? Would the annual fee post upon upgrade? I read on here but not very adept on churning, I should have been following a better plan for travel rewards rather than open the cash back cards this year on preapprovals mailers from my banks! I'm way over 5/24 so have no other movement I can do with Chase for travel goals until mid 2021.
you can I have I did it for the bonus then I asked them to merge accounts to the older one on credit file I did this when they had the 100k in the bank offer a LONG time ago I think its 50k now.

I think the links only lead to the 60K offer, but I see someone else is seeing better. I guess it may just be trial and error on this one. Sorry you aren't having luck finding the 100K offer. Sending you some pixie dust that something good comes up in incognito.
yeah I tried a good once a week for a month for the 100k never got it one time I logged into pay off a card and I saw the 75k offer. I knew it was fate I used to get 100k offers in the mail also but this was before I had other accounts, also if you keep checking it may come up its how my friend got one (i told him how to do it) the majority of the time you will see 60k. I'm not sure if its directly related but when the card match tool has the 100k offer the 75k offer pops up in incognito mode must be something with how they get more accounts or maybe its pure luck (im, not 100% sure how it works) but I checked forever before receiving the 75k I was going to give up and get the 60k after almost 6 months of trying but I got the 75k offer mine was at the end of may for reference.

I read one-mile at a time and other blogs the break-even on the annual fee for the CSR with nothing into consideration besides just travel and restaurants is 3100 most bloggers say its more or less but I feel this is fair if you aren't hitting that in additional spend and dont need GE dont bother my 2 cents.

Is there someplace to find the historical sign up bonuses in order to determine if the current offers are worth it? I believe Doc had one but it doesn't look up-to-date. I am specifically looking at AMEX.

Thanks!!

Landed just waiting to get to our gate. Not impressed with the little service this leg. 1.5 hour flight and I accidentally slept through snacks and didn't see anyone othet than the 1st class fa for the entire flight after the short snooze.

Also annoyed, I have no problem with the middle seat getting the arm rest but that doesn't mean your arm and elbow also get to encroach in my space!

And alaska emergency row has more room than this 757 delta comfort +.

Lastly I'm now the mother of a teenager. Dude turns 13 today!

Hi all... did you guys see this??? Waived annual fee for the first year WITH all those perks? RUN... see if it comes up for you! Anyone know if you can hold more than one Aspire card at a time? (Also, be sure to click on *rates and fees... that's where the waived annual fee shows up!) . This would seriously be worth it, even without the 150k SUB. I'm a huge fan of the Aspire card for the Waldorf Astoria (Bonnet Creek) in March (It ends up being a 1cpp redemption during my March trips and I almost always get upgraded to "Disney Fireworks View")and the Grand Wailea on Maui, just to name two great redemptions.

I did. I don't have this card, could never stomach that fee. Now though...however 4k is not really doable right now, :-(, not even halfway through my CIP. If it were early next year, and tax time, maybe then I could pull it off.

I saw it earlier this morning and been debating it ever since. Seriously tempted!!! Meeting the MSR is holding me back cause just started working on a CIP and Amex is harder anyways.
