If it were early next year, and tax time, maybe then I could pull it off.
Me too, Erika! It came up for me but I don't think I can take advantage of it because a) I already have one and b) I currently have 5 Amex cards. Hoping someone here can take advantage before it disappears! No annual fee the first year is amazing. I just passed my 1 year anniversary and had I known, I would have cancelled and reapplied. Rats.
@calypso726 - does this help you at all? Do I dare cancel a card and attempt picking up a second Aspire? I've been really lucky with Amex... but hate to tempt fate a little too far.

You can hold a second Aspire, you just won't get the SUB. Your 5 Amex is all credit cards? Just checking because charge cards don't count. The advice when all your credit slots are full is to apply, then call in and let them cancel one of your cards. That way you don't have the cancellation before the application.

Is there someplace to find the historical sign up bonuses in order to determine if the current offers are worth it? I believe Doc had one but it doesn't look up-to-date. I am specifically looking at AMEX.

Thanks!!

Doc is the only one I know. Would be curious to know too if there's another source. But if you have specific card(s) in mind, I think people here can give you a general idea.

@wendow Do the Plastiq promos go out in waves? I checked my email (really want that promo this month!) and nothing. Wondering if maybe later it will come or not to expect it for this month.

I never truly jumped on the grAAvy train, but I did open a couple of AA cards (one business, one personal) when the offers seemed good and had a stash of just over 150k AA miles. Well, I found a use for them that I am very happy about! Some of you might remember that my DD was planning to apply to university in the U.K. Well, she has completed the application process, and we are thrilled that she received offers from all of the schools she applied to. It looks like her choice will be coming down to Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland. Each of those schools holds a day in early Spring for offer holders, and DD thinks she would really benefit from attending those events. Happily, Glasgow's Offer Holder day is March 31 and Edinburgh's is April 1, so we can do them in one trip (it's just over an hour by train between the two cities). Of course, it turns out we are going to be in Maui for Spring Break from March 21 to 28 (and can't really change those plans since we are planning to scatter my Mom's ashes during that trip), so DD and I will be flying from Maui to San Jose on March 28 and then from San Francisco to Glasgow on March 29! But I found Business Saver awards on British Airways using AA miles, so at least we'll have a more relaxing flight to Glasgow and hopefully get some sleep so we can make the most of our arrival day. I was very happily surprised to find those Saver awards available!! For the return, I used United miles for coach saver fares that I'm hoping to possibly upgrade later. But so nice to have these stashes of miles to use for otherwise unscheduled trips!

In other churning news, 80k UR were in DH's Chase account today and have already been transferred to my master CSR account :) I also noticed that the AF hit on my CIP, so I SM'd Chase, and that account has been closed.

Congratulations on your dd getting offers and having the AA miles!

I was wondering how job prospects are for overseas graduates in the US. Or is she planning on staying in Europe post-graduation? I would like dd to apply (she's a senior) to either London or Scotland -- is it too late? I am worried about job prospects afterwards (I haven't done any research on this.

Hi all... did you guys see this??? Waived annual fee for the first year WITH all those perks? RUN... see if it comes up for you! Anyone know if you can hold more than one Aspire card at a time? (Also, be sure to click on *rates and fees... that's where the waived annual fee shows up!) . This would seriously be worth it, even without the 150k SUB. I'm a huge fan of the Aspire card for the Waldorf Astoria (Bonnet Creek) in March (It ends up being a 1cpp redemption during my March trips and I almost always get upgraded to "Disney Fireworks View")and the Grand Wailea on Maui, just to name two great redemptions.

Oh wow. DH has been wanting this card, even though we don't have any Hilton stays planned. No AF is pretty nice. Only issue is that he's 4/24 and so am I, and that would lock us out of any new cards for at least 9 months. :sad1:

Oh, you enabler you! Thank you for reminding us! I need to go and check it out. :goodvibes

I saw it earlier this morning and been debating it ever since. Seriously tempted!!! Meeting the MSR is holding me back cause just started working on a CIP and Amex is harder anyways.

Same here. Already have an MSR at the moment... And then there is the card number issue. Just bad timing over here, I guess.

Congratulations to your DD! And WTG on finding a use for those AA miles. It's not always easy.

I’ve definitely gotten them in waves. My dh and I both have accounts. His usually arrive early in the month and mine later (and sometimes slightly different promo).
