I’ve been reading a bunch of things about the Capital One data breach and wondering why no one here is panicking....and then it hit me. No one likes to apply for Capital One cards in this group. Looks like the most data was for small business cards applied as sole prop with SSN. Boom. That would be me.

Still feeling new to all of this. My DH and I both have new Citi AA cards and just met our MSR on both. I really want to go to Hawaii, but DH doesn’t like long flights. Being able to use these points for first class tickets might make convincing him easier! Can’t wait until our points post so I can start checking this out.

You can see what's available without having points. Don't even have to login, just use the Redeem points check box when doing your flight search. It won't make you login until you pick flights and go to checkout. Good way to get a feel for what could be available for when you're ready to book.

I got one of the Best Buy offers on DH’s card this morning. What do we think the best option is there? Just go straight Disney, or VGC? The Swagbucks deal there is totally dead, right?

Actually pretty simple, their bonus points are tied to the Value cash fare and are worth 2.9 cpp. Acela trains cost 2.59 cpp.

40k points are worth $1,160 in non-Acela travel.

@SouthFayetteFan looks like I did show my ID last year. Not sure if that's what everyone does or has had to do, but this is my post from November:

"I did this last month. They do not mail you anything, but you get a confirmation page with the number on it. It says at the bottom that it is "not a voucher," and you should not go to the "Voucher" area when you arrive at Universal. Instead, go to the Will Call area where they have the computer to type in your confirmation number. My number wouldn't work, but I just walked over to the attendant and handed the paper to him and my ID. He was able to print mine and DH's tickets out no problem. Took less than 5 minutes."

I was thinking about this. My second goals are really high now lol. Mine is 5360 with a 439sb bonus, and DHs is 6650 with a 544sb bonus.

If I can get 4 x 2000 purchases on DHs account, and 3 on mine, I would pay $146.93 total... I'd get 8000 + 544 + 6000 + 439 + 800 (referral bonus from DHs account) = $157.83 in swagbucks… and it could go towards MSR. Might give it a go today.

ETA: Though as @afan pointed out, maybe they'll run some of the sales too again. So if I try this plan it probably won't be until afternoon/evening after they seem to typically have the sales.

I should have come and read before I did my morning purchases! My goal was somewhere over 5000, bonus of about 450ish. So I bought 6000. I'm so impatient with Swagbucks! Must learn!

DH only had it on his Delta card. It definitely wasn't there yesterday though, so maybe everyone check your offers again.

I don't know if I want to do a Disney GC or not. I have this new CIP that I could put my spend on while we're down there, but then it would be nice to know I have an additional 10% off with the GC.

... who am I kidding, I'm definitely going to need more than $250 so I guess I'll just get the GC and then also put the CIP on file for my room lol

I'm having a tough time differentiating between my amex cards right now, why do they all seem to look alike? The Hh are the worst,none of them say the type of card (at least easily visible) on them! and here's question.... so if I upgrade to an Ascned a few weeks back, but NOW they changed the name back to Surpass, are the current 'ascend' cards I'm using about to be replaced with a new Surpass card????

I just clarified with Enterprise via Facebook Chat, basically, booking manner doesn't matter, spouse is automatically an authorized driver. We will be fine either way (copying the message from them just in case)

More Hawaii flights should be announced in August. This should include Sacramento & San Diego and service to Lihue and Hilo.

As far as authorized drivers..... I thought that no companies were allowing spouses on for free anymore? So Enterprise does??? ETA wow this is good info- I can't believe I forgot this.... but.... do both spouses have to be there at pickup to drive?

Pending points post at midnight the day your statement closed. It unfortunately sounds like those points are pending for your next statement on 8/24.

DH and I both opened Venture cards last year, and DD has a Quicksilver she opened after graduating from college.

I have always ignored all the traveling to Japan talk on this thread, but just realized DH will probably be flying through Tokyo on his next dive trip to the Philippines. I will go back and read before I ask questions!
