I’ve been reading a bunch of things about the Capital One data breach and wondering why no one here is panicking....and then it hit me. No one likes to apply for Capital One cards in this group. Looks like the most data was for small business cards applied as sole prop with SSN. Boom. That would be me. :badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc:

Can someone help with getting a second CIP biz card?

DH is well over 7/24.

I have CIP, CIU, and Chase Biz Cash Chase Biz cards, last one was opened 3/2019 so over 150 days ago. They were all opened under my SSN. We have an EIN though. I know I can apply for this but is there anything else I need to do? I assume when using the EIN I use the business name and not mine? Do I need to lower credit limit on the old cards? (I’ve never had to do this before).

OMG, there was just a Whirlpool commercial where they were using Google to turn the oven on and off and my Google mini in my bedroom told me it looks like that device hasn’t been setup yet. I hope that’s not a sign that I need a new double oven. I am hoping my GE Profile lasts until we sell the house in 5 years.
I just saw this and told DH, its Carousel of Progress! :rotfl:

My Hilton biz AF posted and I need to cancel. I'd like to app for am amex biz card first. Any suggestions? I don't want to call about that plat biz with the big AF. Here is what I have from amex:
SPG biz, SPG personal, hilton biz, bbp.

What about using DH’s Plat for a 15k MR support bonus to support yourself to the Biz Gold for a 50k MR/$5k/3 months MSR SUB?

You’ll need to check out the benefits to see if this card is right for you, because it does come with a not waived $295 AF.

I think three things about this card stands out.

1. You earn 4x MR on the 2 select categories where you spent the most in each billing cycle, which includes restaurants and gas stations, so these bonus categories could help you keep spending on this card to keep Amex happy.

2. You get a 25% (vs. 35% on the Biz Plat) rebate of points back when you redeem MR to book a flight on Amex Travel using Pay with Points, for a 1.33 cpp redemption.

Note to qualify for the rebate, you can book any class ticket with your selected airline, or a First or Business class flight on any airline.

3. The Biz Gold has a support bonus of 20k MR per approval, capped at 55k MR per calendar year.

Unfortunately, the credits included (i.e., G Suite and ZipRecruiter) aren’t really useful to help offset the AF unless you’re running certain kinds of businesses.

Yay for George!

I actually do not have a chiro, he died a few years after the accidents. I found my massage therapist after his death and she was so good I only once had the need for a chiropractic adjustment. The very highly respected and recommended one I chose hurt me beyond belief.

The really sad part to this whole saga is my dd. She was in the car both times and I was driving her car both times. First accident we were returning home after spending the day shopping for a concert. She was wearing a boot from a foot surgery so she couldn't drive. Her car was fixed. The second accident was on her 17th birthday. (We had made her wait until 17 to get her license so she was going to make the appointment for the following week.) We had gone into the city (thankfully I didn't want her driving) to go to her favorite place, Powells Books, and to get Voodoo donuts as her birthday cake. Some uninsured, unlicensed, high on heroine @$$H*)& plowed into us and his truck ended up in our backseat. Her car was totalled on her birthday and we both ended up having back surgery. It ended her volleyball career and she has a much longer life of pain and surgeries to look forward to. :sad1:

To top it all off we had to sue our insurance company because they didn't want to pay our medical bills.

(OMG I swear my life comes straight out of a soap opera.)

Guessing you are down near Portland with where you had been that day. PM me if you want me to ask my chiro and massage person if they know anyone down your way. They may not but the worse thing they can do is say no.

That all totally sucks though. I've been going since a car accident in hs, anywhere from once a week to once a month which I liked much more. On the every 2 weeks plan so I can work out, run and be healthy. Massages not as often as I'd like but the hydro massage bed at the gym helps supplement it though I crank it all the way up to 10 for it to do anything.

I have a Capitol One Venture, but I haven't even looked into the data breach. Should I be worried?

Help - anyone dealt with this before?

DH and I both have CIP - I opened mine in May, he opened his in June, with my referral bonus. We both received the 80k after spending $5k. DH also had a Chase Freedom that we upgraded to a CSR to use the 1.5x points redemption for travel.

I transferred my CIP points to his CSR a few weeks back. Totally fine. Used it to book our hotel at Universal.
Now I went to transfer DH's CIP points to his CSR and I get this message: "You are prohibited from transferring points to this card at this time." Got the same message twice, about a week apart. I went through the FAQs for combining points, which told me (bold underline was added by me):

Note: You can't move points to another eligible card if either account is prohibited from earning or using points at the time you attempt to move the points. To find out more about how you could be prohibited from earning or using points, please log in to your Chase card account with Ultimate Rewards, and click on the "Rewards Program Agreement" link at the bottom of the page.

Then I went to the Rewards Program Agreement, and I see this (bold underline was added by me):

How you could be prohibited from earning or using points

We may temporarily prohibit you from earning points or using points you've already earned:

  • if you don't make the minimum payment on your account within 30 days of the due date.
  • if we suspect that you've engaged in fraudulent activity related to your account or the program.
  • if we suspect that you've misused the program in any way, for example:
    • by buying or selling points
    • by moving or transferring points to an ineligible third party or account
    • by repeatedly opening or otherwise maintaining credit card accounts for the purpose of generating rewards

You can begin earning and using points again in the next billing cycle after your account becomes current or when we no longer suspect fraud or misuse of the account or program.

Soooo..... now what do I do? These are the only CIPs we have, and I haven't charged anything on DH's CIP since we hit the $5k spend at the end of June. We paid it in full in July and there's a $17 credit on that card now. I will try to charge something on it tomorrow. Any tips for me?

I also planned to open a new CIP for me on 8/1 (that's my 3 month mark), using DH's referral. Wondering if I should wait on that...

Here's our second vlog from our Japan trip. Dh worked on it all morning:

Was the stuff at the disney store at the parks too at all? Or is it more of a see it buy it or you'll never see it again?

What time where you at Harijuku? It looked like some stuff wasn't open yet.

Also, the music was fine but I had to have the volume on everything up all the way to hear your DH a lot of the time. Is he close enough to the mic when he's doing the voice over stuff?

Using your video's to help figure stuff out. I can see it might be a lot of walking, though we don't have a problem getting on the train for a stop or two either to save our feet (more my friend than me, I'd generally rather walk if it's close enough to see more of the city I'm in).

The stuff at the Disney store was more like what you would see at a Disney store in the US; no park merch. The stuff in the parks can only be bought in the parks or at the store in Ikspiari (like Disney Springs). They still had some very unique things and it was fun to see what they sell vs. what you would see here. I thought it was funny that they had Disney themed saran wrap lol.

Yeah, dh worked with the volumes a lot. He's still trying to get used to it, but I think he must have been too far from his phone. He told me he was practically yelling for the speaking part at the end of the video. It could just be that he was recording on his phone? I have no idea because we used his phone to vlog with, too.

We walked a lot the entire trip tbh. That's kind of our touring style, though. We booked that Airbnb because we knew it was walking distance to Harajuku and Shibuya. You could for sure take local trains to get around instead of walking to and from each train. It just felt cheaper and less of a hassle to walk.
