I didn’t know what a palmetto bug was so I looked it up. It looks almost exactly the same as an American cockroach. Do palmetto bugs crawl in the pipes? We found the bug in the kitchen sink.

Yes! They often come in thru pipes. And they come out more in the dark...scurry from light. Hence why I don’t porch sit after dark in the south. Just look around at wdw at night and you’ll see them. So gross. I’m gonna have nightmares about this convo. They are my biggest fear as far as living creatures go.

Yes, seriously. Can we talk about something else? lol Ew, ew, ew. 🙈🙉

That’s so funny because I’m so not a germ phobe but i hate water parks. The gross bathrooms alone do me in.

Same here. 0/7

Bummer I think the promotion had to be made for payments by June 30th if your sending a check that date has passed.

Mines mice. Eeewwww

Awesome. Do you remember if the offers were similar? I’m guessing not since almost a year ago. Congrats! Yeah for booking soon!

I hate the winter here in NE (though this past one was totally bearable) but I couldn’t do FL. Not the bugs the humidity this time of year would kill me. I’m thinking San Diego and I would get along nicely

I thought they had to process by 6/30?

Wait until you come across a Palmetto bug! You can put a saddle on them and it’s like they even got GPS to human heads LOL I’m terrified of roaches, sharks and lightning. You’d think I’d have the good sense to move out of the lightning capital that is surrounded by the ocean on 3 sides and infested with roaches and their gigantic palmetto bug cousins.

:rotfl2:

Had to google “Palmetto bug.” We call them B-52s in Hawaii! We smack them down with our spare slippahs and then stomp and twist until we hear a crunch. Those buggahs are tough to kill!

Best to wait for what you want! If DH has his orange AP slider, that will be good enough for you both to enter on the PH tapstyle. No need to take the AP card out.

I will 100% get the birthday one for the trip by my birthday next year (if it is still in stock then). The aliens are cute, but I don't think I am upgrading or ordering for my AP or any resort reservations just yet.
If you are talking about the band with Mickey holding a cake...it’s in stock now

I feel that way too! I think 'OH I get 20% off with my AP. What a deal?' And just tap the MB. Adding the folio to MDE has actually helped me curb a little bit of the impulse buys because I see it slowly growing! LOL

I've been looking online at Sunglass Hut to see if the new Mickey Ray-Bans are in stock. Nothing online yet. Looks like they will have to be purchased in MK. $243 ($194.4 after discount, before tax LOL)
Are they not the ones on the Ray-Ban website? Amex had an offer and I looked at some then. It's still good - spend 150 get 30 back.

The lizards and snakes don’t bother me. I used to catch them when I was a kid. Still do if one gets in the house. I catch it and bring it outside.

See, lizards and snakes bother me more than the bugs. Even as a kid they grossed me out, like when they do that thing that makes their neck flare out. :crazy2::scared1:

Some of you follow bank bonuses so some highlights as of late:
  • Wells Fargo: more complicated but they have a $400 bonus offer for making $3k in combined deposits for 3 months. ACHs have been triggering the bonus. I’m waiting on my bonus as I just completed reqs (hopefully, I used Ally). Notable because $400 is a huge bank bonus

I've gotten this one with my actual payroll direct deposits, and am now working P2 without any payroll deposits. As another datapoint: I've been pushing in transfers from Barclays and they are showing as "Direct Deposit" and have met the "direct deposit" requirement for waiving the monthly fee, so I'm optimistic that the bonus will post once July rolls around.

It is actually amazing how resilient they are. They come out more often during extended periods of dry weather because they're looking for water, and it almost never has anything to do with cleanliness. I heard about enough infestations to know just how hard they are to get rid of. They can live a long time without water. They will eat almost anything. When trying to get rid of them, you have to put all your food in strong-sealed containers and dispose of cardboard food storage... because they can and do survive by eating only the glue adhesive on the boxes.

You aren't kidding about being hard to kill, and they charge at you. Stubborn little things. But seriously @Haley R , once you have the bug company come it won't be bad, but its just part of living in the south/FL.

Welllll I am never moving to Florida, that's for darn sure. And now I am rethinking ever even trying to visit WDW.

In other news, is it sad that I am actively hoping for a mailer from CitiAAdvantage??

Oh, and I hope this doesn't get me in trouble but why does reddit allow sharing of Chase referral links but the Citi things are so secret?

Listen y’all keep your snow and I’ll take the bugs :rotfl:

This is basically me whenever someone says they prefer the north (just replace waiting with snow lol).

Seriously though I joke being from the south I am actually cold blooded and must sun like a snake to live so being where it snowed all the time was harddddd. I’ll accept the bugs haha

Opinions requested please!

I'm going for a Disney trip 9/23 - 9/27 (M-F) with my mom and uncle and we currently have two reservations and can't decide which to cancel. Beach Club $1,563 total, $391/person or Dolphin using my mom's SPG/Bonvoy points for one night and senior discount for the others for $825 total, $275/person. We're planning on going to F&W a lot. I really want to stay at BC, but should probably stay at the Dolphin. But the price/person isn't that much more (trying to justify). What do you all think?

Palmetto bugs and American cockroaches are the same. I thought you might have seen one of the little German cockroaches that we also have in Florida. They freak me out slightly less than Palmetto Bugs. Yes they will get in pipes. Pour some diatomaceous earth in the drain too.
Ah okay yeah it was a big cockroach so definitely the palmetto. The pest people are going to come do all of that for us

I've got a lovely blue green lizard that lives in my patio's stone wall. I no longer sit on the wall, and I double check under the chair cushions before sitting. He doesn't bother me but I don't want to be close enough to get personal. I think he came in with the stones when the patio was built a couple of years ago. He's also growing, probably 8-10 inches now.
