  • Wells Fargo: more complicated but they have a $400 bonus offer for making $3k in combined deposits for 3 months. ACHs have been triggering the bonus. I’m waiting on my bonus as I just completed reqs (hopefully, I used Ally). Notable because $400 is a huge bank bonus
Thanks for sharing! I am in the market for a good bank bonus! I've only done the Chase $600. Citi's looks like too much for me to deposit for the higher rewards. I am so anti-Wells Fargo (Wachovia) after some pretty horrendous experiences. When I went to close the accounts out, they tried to convince me to stay by offering me a horse drawn carriage plush. I was honestly offended they thought this would have worked (if it were Stitch, maybe a different story 😉)

I love lizards! I think they're so neat. Unfortunately around here they also come with rattlesnakes and scorpions.

I don't mind non-venomous snakes but rattlesnakes are a real fear here.

Are they not the ones on the Ray-Ban website? Amex had an offer and I looked at some then. It's still good - spend 150 get 30 back.
I don't believe so? I last saw the 90th anniversary wayfarers with the pattern on the inside and the gold aviators (too rich for my blood).

These are the new style I am eager for:

It said initially released in the parks, then coming online exclusively at Sunglass Hut. I have the $30 off at Sunglass Hut activated on my Amex. I think the AP discount with Disney gift cards may actually come out to be less (Sunglass Hut: $229 after Amex Offer, Disney: $207 after AP discount and then whatever gift card savings on top. I was going to buy as soon as I saw them available because IDK if they will sell out in the park or be unavailable when I go down. Sunglass Hut has 45-days for returns so I figured I would play it safe.

I keep thinking we should sell the house and take the money and run away from this crazy place we live in, but all the talk about bugs, lizards, snakes and gators has made me realize that I belong here. :rotfl::eek::rotfl::scared1::rotfl::faint::rotfl: I do NOT like the creepy crawlies!

HAHAHA!! That's the first time I've heard of a plush toy as a retention bonus! (Skim through DoC's best bank bonuses for June more ideas if you haven't already.)

I'm going for a Disney trip 9/23 - 9/27 (M-F) with my mom and uncle and we currently have two reservations and can't decide which to cancel. Beach Club $1,563 total, $391/person or Dolphin using my mom's SPG/Bonvoy points for one night and senior discount for the others for $825 total, $275/person. We're planning on going to F&W a lot. I really want to stay at BC, but should probably stay at the Dolphin. But the price/person isn't that much more (trying to justify). What do you all think?

Does the Dolphin rate include the $30/night resort fee (or whatever it is now)? Obviously still won't come close to Beach Club in price, but worth factoring as well.

My preference would be Beach Club even though I've never stayed there (but we have been at Boardwalk and Dolphin), but for half price I'd probably pick Dolphin.

I will be of ZERO help to you if you want to save money.

I love staying at the Disney resorts. BC is my second fav after Poly. I find the ME shuttle and luggage service to be extremely helpful and convenient. I love resort airline check-in, and SAB is pretty great. MagicBands are fun and I like having the option to charge back to my room anywhere on property. I also believe Swolphin is included as one of the resorts that causes “issues” with AP holders if they go over 7 FP+ for multiple close trips. (This is my usual justification)

Since you specifically mention “F&W a lot,” no Epcot resort is closer than BC. You can go out that secret entrance and be at Epcot in less than 5 minutes. Room charging is also helpful to me during festivals. Tap and you are on your way to the next booth.

Nothing against Swolphin, I just prefer to stay at BC. Can you try and get discounted Disney gift cards before final payment? If you get 10% that is another $156.30 HAHA (drop in the bucket, but something!)

Do you have the mandatory resort fees at Dolphin included in that? Personally I'd spend the money and do BC either way. The convenience of being able to walk to EP instead of having to stand and wait for the boat and then ride the boat is worth it as that's vacation time I'd rather spend doing something else.

Yes! Second public link. Did dummy bookings for both cards. My first card was in July 2018, closed that in January. Got this card beginning of May. I requested a match and got encouraging language back on chat, but never even received a letter about it afterwards, so I wasn’t expecting to get the extra 20k. Which honestly I don’t need to book Japan, so it’s fine.
What does making dummy bookings do? My DH is waiting for his first AA biz to come in the mail. Just wondered if this was something he should try to do.

Didn’t grab any quotes, but yes I’m pretty sure Plastiq payments for the promo only have to be processed by the 30th, so we have maybe another week yet.

Y’all should have talked about bugs and lizards BEFORE Haley moved to Florida! Not after!!! Lol (Teasing of course) Now I have to decide whether or not I’m moving south after retirement. Hmmm....snow or bugs snakes and lizards...tough choice.

Listen y’all keep your snow and I’ll take the bugs :rotfl:

This is basically me whenever someone says they prefer the north (just replace waiting with snow lol).

Seriously though I joke being from the south I am actually cold blooded and must sun like a snake to live so being where it snowed all the time was harddddd. I’ll accept the bugs haha
I’m with you. I’ll take the bugs any day over the snow and ice.

Best to wait for what you want! If DH has his orange AP slider, that will be good enough for you both to enter on the PH tapstyle. No need to take the AP card out.

I will 100% get the birthday one for the trip by my birthday next year (if it is still in stock then). The aliens are cute, but I don't think I am upgrading or ordering for my AP or any resort reservations just yet.

I never take my card out in the PH line. I just thought that they could tell when I scanned my MB. Now, I feel like maybe I should have been showing it although no one ever asked to see mine either.

Pest control each month is good. Another option is to purchase food grade diatomaceous earth and sprinkle it along baseboards and the perimeter of the house as well as pet bedding. It’s harmless to pets that don’t have an exoskeleton. You can even it the stuff. It is extremely effective in killing all bugs though.

Agree with this 100%. Cheap, harmless to pets, and effective at killing all crawling insects. Just make sure you get the food grade.

I would definitely do BC! It is my family’s favorite resort. Having stayed at many of the resorts (although not Swalphin yet), we would happily choose BC for every trip.

I love these soooooooooooooooo much, but I have bought two pairs of the Mickey RayBans so far, and neither work on my head. They slide off.
