I love Aldi. It's like a box of chocolates.

I went to Aldi to pick up some of this weeks produce sale items, mushrooms, salad kits and roma tomatoes. I love Aldi, because you never know what your going to find. The mushrooms were marked down to $.39. The tomatoes were $.49 not the advertised $.79. The multicolor pepper pack was $.99, not $1.39. The green peppers were $.69, not $.99. I didn't buy any. An additional bonus was $.49 cantaloupe. Over the past few weeks, I've also purchased $.99 32 ounce vanilla yogurt and $.49 hot dog buns. Both of these items had dates that were a ways out.

Our Aldi is hit or miss on produce- sometimes great sometimes not so great. I like the "non-food" surprises that are always there. You go in for some eggs and surprise they have a yoga mat for $9.

Our first Aldi's in New Hampshire is opening tomorrow. I'm so excited after always seeing threads on here about good deals. So, is there a certain time of day I should go to get the best produce and should I stay away from the meat?

Not sure if I went earlier it would help with produce? Maybe. And I have not bought any fresh meat from them. I have bought their frozen buffalo bites and those are yummy. Spray oil too.
I always buy the tortilla chips, chocolate, shredded cheese, and onion rolls. Whatever else looks good I'll throw in the cart. I usually spend about $30 and it's more filler than regular complete grocery shopping.
Remember your quarter for the cart and bring your own bags.

We like Aldi too! :) I think their best deals are on their cereals, French Toast Sticks...their boxed shelled macaroni and cheese...salsa...I have bought their meat before...its okay...their ground beef..the way it was "ground up"...looked "wormy"..which kind of grossed me out

a couple of days ago I went on bought their Sweet and Sour Chicken and their Chicken fried rice...YUMMMMY!..We used one bag of each...under $10 and it fed our family of 4 very well! :) I also bought their large lasagna...$7.99 and it pretty much made 1 dinner for our family of 4 and then I would say 2 individual good portion lunches! :)

I love Aldi:lovestruc I had been just stopping here and there for the odd gallon of milk for a few weeks...but it is always a hassle, and it isn't as cheap as just going to Aldi and getting everything I need in one shopping trip!
This week I went back to 'one big Aldi trip' and we are stocked for a couple of weeks now! it's simple, cheap, and has good products!
(with the notable exception of automatic dish detergent,it's the only product I ever got from there that wasn't great)

We just got a few Aldi's in Miami so I think I'll be checking them out. There's one on the way home from my job so I may stop tomorrow. I need to remember my reusable bags and my quarter.

I checked out their flyer this week and will be picking up the cheeses, flour tortillas, potatoes, chicken breasts, and lemons for sure. Those are great deals. And I really don't coupon so saving $$ like this makes me very happy. I'll have to see what their milk prices look like compared to costco.

where in NH is this ?? would love to know.... thanks.

Hi:
The Salem, NH store opens tomorrow, March 1st. It is located in the same plaza as Lowe's and Namco on Rte.28. It's almost on the Methuen, MA line.

They're building an Aldi's in my town near our Wal-Mart - I'm looking forward to trying it! Wish I knew when they opened.....

I love aldi, especially for milk/eggs/sour cream/vanilla yogurt/produce. Their produce is always a better deal than any big grocery chain, at least in Chicago area, and with the execption of the bananas, it's fresh. Not sure why the bananas are always a weird shade of beige.
Last time I went on a milk run, they were selling loaves of French Baguette at the checkouts for 25 cents reg price 1.99. The sell buy date was the next day, so I figured they were clearing them out. Went home and baked for 10 min to brown it as instructed, and it was awesome! Wish I bought more!

I'm not a wine drinker, but I have seen a number of bottles being purchased by one person. If you forget your bags, you can always use an empty product box from the displays. That's what I do. Strawberries $1.19 today. The bananas were beginning to look a little over ripe. I bet they will be $.25 a pound tomorrow. I hate buying chips anywhere else. I won't do it, when I know I can get them at Aldi for much less. And they are good.

Just did a big run the other day- i get just about everything there- packaged meats have always been good for us (steaks, pork chops, ground turkey, hamburger) milk, cheeses, yogurt, eggs, ---didn't really like the frozen pizzas but everything else is great!

Strawberries are $1.19. I got 4 packages last night and 2 are almost already gone. :lovestruc They're giant, dark red and very yummy.

I don't think I've been at Aldi's for over a year. I just never get out that way anymore and gas is too expensive for a special trip. I miss their chocolate. :(

I wish my local Aldi was as good as the ones near all of you. :sad1:

Everytime I see one of these Aldi posts, I go back and check ours out again, and I always come away disappointed. I just went the day before yesterday. It still looks dirty and smells strange. The produce is surrounded by fruit flies. The last time I bought chocolate (which I've heard raves about) it was past the expiration date.

Maybe next time I'll drive a couple of towns over and try the one there, because I'm sure not going to the one here in my town again.

I love Aldi's :lovestruc The stores out my way are always clean, bright, well stocked, and you can't beat the prices. The produce is always fresh and the canned goods, snacks, paper products, juices, eggs, seasonings, and frozen foods are the staples we shop for when we go there. I agree that you can come across some really great non-food deals too. When my oldest DD was 4, I purchased a Disney princess vanity set there for $30 and the same one was $80 at Toys R Us!! I also got my youngest DS a nice winter coat there for $10!
