We are going to Disney 11/18 - 11/25. DH wanted to fly non-stop from NY, so rather than go to LGA or JFK we decided to try Airtran out of Westchester airport, which is closer to us that LGA or JFK. I booked the tickets about 3 weeks ago.

The cost was a bit expensive for the 5 of us, but was comprable to the LGA flights, and it IS Thanksgiving week. Airtran also had the best times for us.

I popped onto the Airtran website this morning and notice that the prices are significantly LOWER than what I paid. So I give Airtran a call to see what my options are. They gave me the lowest advertised price WITHOUT charging me a "change fee!"

I have a $700 CREDIT with them good for the next year! Now while I would have prefered the money credit back to my CC, I'm not going to complain. It means another quick trip to Disney next year!

I heard there was 1 person somewhere who loved Airtrain and here you are. The legend is true!

Airtran was good to us too. We had a flight scheduled from Albany to Orlando years ago. When I called to confirm, the times had changed and they had even changed the day due to a reduced schedule! We were never notified by Airtran at the time & it was a scramble to reserve two additiional nights @ WDW. When we returned from the "vacation from hell" (I'll spare you all the gory details...) I wrote them a letter - never expecting a response. Airtran sent us 5 round trip flight vouchers for anywhere in the USA. They also paid for the hotel room - we stayed @ the Wilderness Lodge!

We'd fly with them again, but they no longer fly from Albany - Southwest arrived & we love SWA!

Make that another person! I love Airtran too. You couldn't pay me to fly SW! Airtran always gives me a credit when they reduce prices. They also let me mkae changes without making me pay a fee. They have the best customer service too. I know others swear by SW but that airline lost my luggage twice and was 4 hours late and that all happened in 3 trips! Never again will I use SW!

I like Airtran as well. I dont care for their employees nonhelp policy at the airport but the flights/planes/prices/times cant be beat. :thumbsup2

I was given a credit through Air Tran awhile back as well :cool1: Wish mine were $700 though :teeth:

I did get a credit on a reduced fare for this October..but I had to fight for it. Had to go up three levels to get a $100 credit on a $200 difference in airfare. They wouldn't issue me the full $200. We have flown with them in the past, so not the only time we have used them. Would love to know why they seem to take care of it no problem for some and such a hassle for others.

I am an Airtran fan as well. They fly non-stop from our airport and the flight times on the way down are very early and on the way home very late. It's basically like 2 extra days with these flights. We are flying Southwest for our December trip for the very first time just because they are a little lower. I was leary to book with SW though after having such great luck with Airtran.

On a side note, has anyone ever had to change flights with Airtran. Our Oct. trip was originally scheduled for Oct. 7-14, we had to move it to the 11-16. I am going to call tomorrow to change the tickets and I'm not sure how it's going to go. I hear there is a $50 change fee...

The thing was I didn't really ASK for the credit. I was just calling to inquire since the really low fares were the ones that you pick your seats at check-in and I already have seat assignemnts and I didn't want to give those up. DH was adament that we all sit together in the same row.

So as I'm rambling on the employee I'm talking to just announces the $700 credit. I get to keep my same seats and everything.

Now hopefully I'll feel the same way about them once we get to the airport and get on the plane, but for right now, they are tops with me!
