I know you love Disney but...really? ~a dis meet in London 5/15

Erma Bombeck once said "when you look like your passport photo, it's time to go home". Wiser words were never said.

It's 9:30 pm in Seattle....that would be 6:30 am Paris time and we're on hour 4 of sitting in customs. I should have been home by now...even with the 3 hour drive from the airport to home.

I'm sitting on the edge of the conveyor belt which should have dilivered my luggage hours ago. My feet are covered in blisters and my ankles are so swollen I officialy have cankles.

I'm so tired I consider laying down on the conveyor belt or maybe even the cold hard floor. At least I'm not alone....the rest of my flight is also sitting around with glazed stares. I don't think any of us has ever heard of a plane with this sort of problem.

I'm getting ahead of myself now...so I guess I'll go back to the begining and explain how I got to this state.

Just when I thought you couldn't top your last report, you go and post this teaser. I hope you are safe back at home.

Oh, sorry for an unaspicious - or may suspicious end to your trip - hopefully you are home safely sleeping by now.

Oh no!!!!!!!!! Oh I hope you're home and resting now!!! I can't wait to hear about it all!!! And I hope the memory cards from your camera made it too, LOL, can't wait to see the pictures!!!!

Rest up, feet up, sleep tight....

I'm home safe and sound...just trying to adjust to the 9 hour time difference. Going backwards is much harder than going forward.

Since we're not at war with France, and I didn't hear of any international incidents, you must have at least somewhat behaved. I'm glad you're home safe, and I hope you had a fantastic time!

thanks! I'm still trying to adjust to the time change....so far my body isn't doing too well.

Welcome home Cherie!

I can't wait to hear how you got into such a state of being!

If you looked up the saying "some fools never learn" I'm sure wikipedia would pull up a picture of me.

It's Sunday April 1st and I'm sitting in the back of a van with my mother in law (mil) behind the wheel, on the way to the airport. There are countless reasons this is not a good idea but the most obvious occured about 10 years ago when mil asked me to go with her to the airport and then drive her car home.

MIL is a crazy driver on a good day but combine that with Seattle trafic, getting lost because of her "short cut" and being late and you have a crap in the pants experience.

My friend and I went along for this joyride from hell praying the entire time that we wouldn't be killed. We later joked that even our guardian angels must have had the crap scared out of them.

4 hours after the begining of what should be a 3 hour drive we screeched into the drop off lane. As MIL is freaking out trying to get to the curb she overhears a voice say "do not stop in the center lane" . Most people would have realized it was an automated message on a loop, but to MIL it was someone talking to her which caused her to start screaming at the top of her lungs "I Can't move!! I'm going to miss my flight"

So, back to April 1st, I'm praying to make it alive. As we're speedinitg down the road the van is swerving slightly from side to side as MIL attempts to do 48 things BESIDES drive. If I were a baby, I'd be gently lulled to sleep but instead it's scaring the crap out of me and making me a little motion sick.

MIL makes a stop for the restroom...too bad I'd already had everything scared out of me. She gets a little turned around trying to make it back to the highway and instead of listening to her GPS she decides she knows better.

About 40 minutes later we make it back to the highway. I'm thinking that if I just make it to the hotel safe I'll be able to relax and let the vacation officialy start.

But then I remember that I have to worry about MIL getting back home safe with 2 of my boys!

OMG!!! I am SO picturing this! by the time she dropped you off, you must have been a nervous wreck.. NOT the way to start a vacation!!! :scared:
