but what non-preferred, non royal room building is the best at POR? I want ease in walking to the main area(food court, gift shop), bus stop and a pool(not necessarily the main pool). Quiet is always good, but remote. Those are my preferences in order. And looking at pictures I like the look of the mansion rooms vs AB area rooms but can be persuaded for the optimal spot.
One or two options is okay
 
I think a good bet for you would be to pay for waterview (which usually means pool), and request a mansion room. That should put you in either Acadia or Magnolia Terrace close to the bridge that crosses over to the main pool and food court.
 
Just want to give a shout out to the AB section. I found that much quieter and calmer than the Mansions. I'm not sure if it was the shade, or the small pools or the trees and moss, but it just seemed more peaceful. I was in building 37 of the AB which was near a bus stop, but farther from the lobby and food so that wouldn't work out for your requirements- but I love walking, especially in that setting.
