but me being a dizzy blonde didn't print the information out, I go next wednesday and we have never been with Virgin before (through thomas cook) we fly from Gatwick and I was hoping to do the twilight check-in on the Tuesday evening, our plan is to leave coventry about 4ish to get down to Gatwick hopefully about 7.30ish, the questions i need answering is this:

What time do you have to be at Gatwick for?

Is it a seperate queue thingy just for twilight check in?

Is it clearly marked for a dizzy blonde to find?

What terminal is it in?

How long does it usually take?

And once you have successfully checked in, the following morning do you still have to be at the airport 3 hours before departure? or do you just go through to the boarding lounge once you get there?

I know it's a lot of questions but I've never done this before and it does sound really good, plus I would like to give my hubby all the right information for a change instead of just guess work.

Answers below - don't worry, it's easy and very clear where to go

We are also travelling down about 4ish - straight down the M40. Be prepared for a slow journey, especially once you get near the M25!
Last trip we didn't get our of 2nd gear from about High Wycombe to the Gatwick turn on the M25!!!

What time do you have to be at Gatwick for?
Twilight checkin opens 12pm until 9pm

Is it a seperate queue thingy just for twilight check in?
Yes, it's very clear where to go and there are Virgin bobs to help you

Is it clearly marked for a dizzy blonde to find?
Yep - go into the south terminal and turn left, can't miss the line of Virgin check in desks and the queue lines

What terminal is it in?
South

How long does it usually take?
Depends on the line, shouldn't take more than an hour.

No, but allow time to get through the security checks - can be quite a queue there. Also, you need time for duty free shopping and allow time to walk to the gate. You need to be at the gate about 45-60 mins before flight time as they start to board early with so many people on board

I know it's a lot of questions but I've never done this before and it does sound really good, plus I would like to give my hubby all the right information for a change instead of just guess work.

We have done this twice. They will ask you to have with you all the bags that you are going to take on the plane including your carry on. Last May all 14 of us did this with no queues. You do need to remember that you may need some overnight stuff for the hotel if you are staying at one at Gatwick.

We take the "bare" minimum of overnight stuff

As we buy all new toothbrushes and paste for our hols. we take our old ones with us for our nights stopover and then just throw them away in the morning
