Does anyone know of an "economy" place to stay close to DL. I need a room for the 4th and 5th of August. I really don't want to spend more than 70 dollars. TIA!!!

The Super 8 on Disneyland Dr was very clean, and we thought it was very nice for the budget price we paid. In April we paid about $45 a night. It was a bit of a trek to the parks - we would walk about 2 blocks to the Disney parking garage, then we'd catch the parking trams, then go to the entrances from where they let off at DTD. For the price, though, you can't beat it! They have a small pool and hot tub, and serve doughnuts and coffee in the morning. Hope this helps!

HoJo's is great location - Right across the street from Disneyland - Go to mousesavers.com for a special rate - Not sure if they will have any rooms left, but it would be worth a try!

I stayed at the Best Western and paid something closer to $100/night, though it was the week after July 4 so maybe the rates were higher.

It was a great location though, and included breakfast at the little restaurant next door (Captain Kidd's, I think?). We usually go to WDW, so my son just loved the fact that we could just walk across the street and be at DL! I'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Ramada Maingate in May and it's basic, but clean, especially good if you won't be in your room much. I think it usually runs less than the HOJO and it's a few minutes closer.

The Holiday Inn at the Park was also very economical......right around $70 per night. Also, if you have a AAA card, the rate may even be cheaper!

I just went on sidestep - a part of hotels.com to check availablility for you, there are rooms available - are there only 2 of you? The prices range from $43 on up. You could check what's available to the map of the good neighbor hotels that MaryJo has on the DL forum, so you can see where they are. Pick a few hotels, then ask to see if anyone has stayed there. We just stayed at the Anabella - their rooms are not available. It was very convenient - a 10 or so minute walk to the entrance. Lots of luck! I'm sure you'll get something.

Anaheim Plaza Hotel is right across the street on Harbor. We just stayed there and paid $70/night. It was ok, no fridge in the room. We usually stay at Park Inn or Tropicana...sometimes their web specials are within the right price range. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Stovall's Best Western. It's on Katella at the corner of West/Disneyland Drive. Before the whole DCA/DTD redo this was one of the easiest hotels to get to the park from. It's not far from the Paradise Pier and is clean and inexpensive. The same group also owns Best Western Pavillions. It's a 1/2 block down Katella and smaller. Sometimes it's a little cheaper. We've always walked from these 2.
My DH and I have stayed at both Stovall properties in the past and been really happy. When we do a solo (ie. no kid) trip all we really want is a close, cheap bed. We've never booked a place that did breakfast and certainly never cared about the shuttle service, so these 2 have been great for us

I would recommend Carousel Inn Suites. They are seven minutes away from the park. But because of last minute they are charging $106 a night. When I'll be going they will be charging $59 a night.

Anaheim Plaza Hotel is charging $90 a night. Katella Palms Hotel is charging $74 a night. Best Value Inn & Suites Anaheim East is $68 a night. Jolly Roger Hotel - Disneyland/Convention Ctr. are charging $90 a night. Ramada Plaza Anaheim Area are charging $80 a night. Anaheim Vagabond Executive Inn - Disneyland/ Convention Cntr are charging $80.10 a night. Ramada Limited Main Gate North is $80 a night. America's Best Inn Anaheim are charging $78 a night.

All the pricing I recieved was from Expedia.com

We used Priceline last July for our trip to DL and was able to get a nice room at the Hyatt Recency (4 star hotel) for only $40 a night. You might want to give priceline a try we have used them a few times and have been very happy with our hotels each time.

Days Inn almost always has rooms available and they are right accross from the Parking Structure (you will need to be able to walk up and down stairs if you are planning on walking to the tram)
