I am really torn. I can't decide between Sci Fi and Primetime cafe. We currently have reservations for SCi Fi. We were 10 years ago and DS 17 says that is one of his most vivid memories of our trip. I remember it being dark and not liking that we couldn't all talk. We are taking DS17 and DS 4 in October and I can't chose between the 2. I kind of want to try Primetime but not sure if kids will have fun. Please someone talk me into one or the other.

I would say Primetime. I like them both, a lot, but I think if I had to choose 1, Primetime would be it.

1. I think the food is better for about the same price
2. I like the antics of the waiters, and I don't like Sci-Fi for a party bigger than 2 because you don't sit with each other.

I'm sure others will have a diffferent take

I vote Prime Time. Food is better, more conductive to visting. I also feel pt has better chow selection.


Sci fi is fun place to vist but I'd call it more a snack/dessert type place. I have been known to stop here for a cool drink and dessert just to get out of heat/sun.

My vote is definitely Sci Fi! It is a must every time we go to WDW. Have been to Prime Time several times and don't feel like it is consistent. The experience depends on the waiter/waitress you get and food is not that great. One thing to keep in mind since you are traveling with a teenager...make sure they don't mind being picked on. My daughter has a great sense of humor but did not enjoy the experience.

Sci-Fi for me, for sure.
I have eaten at Sci-Fi 3 times and Prime time twice. I feel that the food is comporable, but the "antics" at Prime Time can be VERY hit or miss. At Sci-Fi, the atmosphere is consistant and ALWAYS fun! Have fun whichever you choose!

Sci-Fi for us too. My son who was 11 on the last trip as vetoed Prime Time. Our "babysitter" was very into his part and picked on ds alot. He hated every minute of it. Vowed to never return, we could eat without him. But they love Sci Fi. Especially the milkshakes!

At Prime Time the waiter/waitress treats you as a family member calling you "Cousin Mary Margaret" etc. They tell you to keep elbows off the table, make you eat your green beans and depending on who you get sometimes poke fun at you. It is all in good fun but being a teenager, my daughter didn't think it was very funny. Other times we have eaten there, the waiter/waitress hasn't been into it at all, which isn't much fun either. Everyone in my family loves the atmosphere at Sci Fi even though it is a little dark. We still yell out quotes from the old Sci Fi movies they play and it always gets a laugh. If you decide on Sci Fi...the cookies and cream shake is my absolute favorite!

SciFi is my favorite restaurant for its ambience, but I do think the food is better at PrimeTime. Also, if you're not in the mood for their schtick, it might grate on you. I always think you should try a place at least once if you can, but if you do PT and you think your kids might not enjoy it, it might be worthwhile to mention at the podium that you want a quieter table?

I would go to Sci Fi especially since your son has such a fond memory of it. My kids love it. I'm not really that crazy about the food and the seating, but we do it for the kids. I personally like Prime Time food better and really enjoy the antics, but they do pick on folks. I find it fun, but I've been with some that simply did not like it.

Sci-Fi! We just LOVE this restaurant! You are not going to get gourment food, but the food is good! And you just cannot beat the atmosphere. I've eaten at Primetime, but just didn't have the fun that we have at Sci-Fi! Have a great time!

My husband and I enjoy both, but Sci Fi is my favorite!! We decided since we really like them both, we're doing Sci Fi for lunch and Prime Time for dinner. I don't think you can go wrong with either restaurant.

I don't like the food at either. We had bad experience with food at both, but Sci-Fi was much better than Prime Time...food and atmosphere wise.

I can't vouch for Sci-Fi, but love Prime Time. The food has been really consistent each time and I think the decor and such is really fun.
