I Just Signed Up For Netflix!!!

I know, I'm the last person on the planet to do it. I just hadn't gotten around to it until yesterday, when I thought, "Hmm, I'd sure like to see a good movie today - wonder what's around here?" And I wasn't in the mood for anything we currently own.

So, tips for a newbie would be appreciated! Any tricks to know, etc? I signed up for the 4 movies at a time option - I figured I would stand a better chance of having something from my queue that I liked and having a choice for DD12 at the same time as well.

I'd make sure you always have an updated queue. Also, figure out how you'll work with DD on it-will she get one movie at a time of the 4? Is it only when you say? Etc.
Good luck! Netflix is quite possible one of the best things I do for myself.

Love Netflix and know you will, too. In the beginning, we couldn't get the movies in here fast enough. Now, some have actually sat for 3 weeks or so before we got around to looking at them. But, the convenience...fabulous!

You're not the last. I still haven't joined the Netflix bandwagon. However, my boyfriend is signed up to the Blockbuster version and we really like it. Beats going to the video store to rent something.

I joined a while ago and I love it! I not only rent new movies but older movies that I just want to see again (or never got around to seeing) and I also rent tv series that I want to watch (or catch up on, or just try!) without having to pay $50 a season!

I hope you like it as much as I do! I think it's the greatest thing ever. One suggestion I'd make is take the time to rate movies. Once their system gets a "feel" for what you like it will start recommending some great movies to you. I'm a huge movie watcher and I have always loved obscure indie films, and I'm finding movies I've never heard of. Also the order of your queue isn't set in stone. I'm always playing with it, rearranging what I want to see and when. Like when my daughter is on school break, I'll move a lot more family friendly films to the top. I always check my queue the day I mail one in to be sure the next one up is something I'm ready to see.
