I just saw Signs for the first time....

I was pretty much disappointed with the movie. I thought it was gonna be a little more scary than it actually was..It was a pretty calm movie for the most part but other than that it was a great story..I guess I was just looking for a good "scare"

I was a little disappointed in it too. It wasn't the worst movie I ever saw but it was nowhere near the best either.

Ok, I must be a weenie, because that movie scared the crap out of me!! I was sitting beside Jaypd and beating the hell out of his arm as I squeezed, scratched and probably left bruises. And then watched parts of the movie between my fingers! I had no idea I was such a girly girl!!!

but it creeped me out. I got to the part where Mel (best part of the movie, Mel) was at the house where the alien was in the pantry, and I had to go to another room. I was a little curious as to why the aliens could do all the "High Tech" Sci -Fi stuff, but couldn't get out of the pantry, but it still really bothered me. I'll watch the whole thing one day, in the daytime.

I'm just glad I don't have a pantry!! One of our DISers is from Bucks County where it was filmed, I've forgotten who it is I wondered what town that was?

I don't know the whole water part had me thinking of The Wizard of Oz .... lol....

Now if the aliens had been giant birds I would have been terrified!!

I don't scare by movies easily, but Signs really creeped me out! I won't take my dogs to the back yard at night anymore b/c its near woods. (I know in the movie its cornfields, but woods is close enough for me.) The last time a movie had that effect on me was when I saw Candy Man. The only thing about the movie that disappointed me was the stupid ending.

I thought the scenes in the cornfield were creepy. And Mel Gibson is great.

I rented it last week and I had the dds watch it with me. Now the movie did not scare me except I did "jump" at one part of it. Now they would "hide" when that music starting going.
At the end dds were saying..."ha, now THAT wasn't scary"
Oh and I did watch it because of Mel...

I thought this one was really good. I'm not sure that I was expecting it to be too scary, but I was expecting a bit of a story twist, since it is from M. Night.

I enjoyed it!

DH and I rented it last weekend. I agree that it wasn't as scary as I was expecting.

I like the movie in between the punches from CC. But I hated the end. I wont say what happens. Lets say the end makes the movie bad IMO

I really liked it. We saw it in the theater, and the part where Mel is looking under the door (pantry) I happened to look over at DH, and his eyes were closed!

My DH was not impressed at all! He likes explosions and more action.

I agree though, they could have done much better with the ending.
