I'm wondering, do many of the little girls bring Disney Princess outfits from home and wear them on formal night? The reason I'm asking is because my 4 year old daughter will be totally distraught if she sees all these little girls in Princess dresses and she doesn't have one. If it's a common occurrence, guess I know what Santa will be bringing her for our cruise this year!

Thanks so much,

Deb

I'd estimate that about 10% of the very young girls were princesses on formal nights. We alse seen quite a few 'captains' in the boys also! LOVED IT - they all looked adorable! It will make those nights even more memorable in your little girls eyes.

What would you consider very young? My daughter, who will turn 7 the week before the cruise, truly believes she is a lost princess. I planned on having her fairy godmother (she believes she has one of them too) leave an entire Cinderella outfit for her to wear to the semi-formal night. Will she look out of place at 7? She is young enough to believe but old enough to get embarrassed. If there are others dressed the same she will love it but now I'm concerned there won't be many others.

You definitely see little girls dressed up in their favorite princess attire. They look so adorable!!!!

Since we were on a 4 night, there weren't any formal nights. However.... I did see quite a few young girls dressed as their favorite Disney princess at the "Princess Party" in the atrium. They really looked adorable having their pictures taken with the character who was dressed just like them.

DGDs 8 & 10 are wearing Snow White and Belle costumes. Their faces light up everytime they look at them.

Sounds wonderful....count us in too!
We bought costumes for our princess DGD's for the cruise~
'Belle' is age 3 and 'Cinderella' is age 4 :)

Are you guys talking about the Halloween outfits that are in the Disney stores now or is there something I'm missing out on here? My princess will be 5 when we cruise and my son will be 4. What outfits would there be for a 4 yr old boy??

No, I guess a formal supper with a little Buzz Lightyear just doesn't cut it!! Hahaha!

Well, since the girls are Princesses, then I would have to dress my son (5) as a Prince. Too bad there are no outfits or Prince accessories available!! I would have to make the outfit myself! I had actually thought about this for the kids costume event before the Disney On Ice that we recently went to, but couldn't make the event, sooooo.

PS: a little off topic, but. does anyone know if onboard they have the battery powered Mickey Mouse Ears with marquis type lights running in circles around each ear?? Saw those at the Ice show, and they were way cool!!!

Leave it to Dave to come through once again! Thanks for the photo link...I just love those Mickey vests!!! Does anyone know where to get one. (Probably something else that has been asked before, if so, sorry!)

Wishing on a Star...don't even mention Buzz because my son would do it and add all the animation!! LOL!

This is our first Disney Cruise, and both my husband and I have never been "Disney people" (yet) and my kids don't really know much about Disney except for Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

Here is my "dumb" question: Who is Belle? What movie was she in?

HELP!

Belle is the princess from Beauty and the Beast. It really is one of best of all the Disney animated movies. Very romantic!!! Great soundtrack too!!!

I keep meaning to rent Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. Also need to see Aladdin, Mulan and Little Mermaid. I imagine that all of you think that it is incredible that we haven't seen any of these movies. Oh, just remembered... have to add Peter Pan to the list. If we don't see these movies before the cruise, then I am sure we will know everything we need to know by the end of the cruise.

guess the older kids miss out here - it sounds like a costume party for the younger ones

My daughter would love to dress as Cinderella. Of course (as you have all guessed) she has never seen the movie, however we have "Cinderelmo" (haha) so she knows the story.

This Halloween she will be dressed as "Prom-queen Barbie". It is a very pink ball gown with a teara and it looks just like Cinderella. I think we will bring this for her.

I would love to post a photo of the kids last Halloween right into my message... how do I do this?

Here is the link to a photo of the kids as a Barbie and Buzz:

OK everyone - Im soooo jealous - I want to dress up my 10.5yr old but know he would really think his mom has lost it - lol. It just doesnt seem fair that Im having such a problem with the clothes issue but the little ones can wear costumes to formal/semiformal night.

Nedleycan - youre kids are soooo adorable. Cant wait to meet them.

Hey Nedleycan, tooooo cute!!!

Imgoingtodisney - Yep, it is a little harder to come up with some way to deck out a 10 year old. But, don't dispair! I think it could be done. And, I am sure he would feel 'way cool', and actually enjoy it if you did do a little something. Maybe like a cool colorful Disney Tie with matching vest/suspenders. Maybe some of us could brainstorm and come up with some ideas!

Well one my next cruises will have to be over Halloween so I can dress up in my Evil Queen from Snow White Costume...I love to scare all the kids at the door on Halloween.

It would be fun to be onboard during Halloween and dress up!!!
