I just joined the car #4 crowd

AWM has a right to be upset.
I agree that yes he does. He's not a Disney novice, he thought he understood how things ran and planned accordingly in hopes of achieving a very specific goal. Then things changed that he had no control over. I believe he has a lgitimate right to be upset.
When you encourage and accept peoples money a full year ahead, then yes it qualifies as a whim.
I disagree. There is no stated contract that everything will remain status quo a year out. Not from Disney, not from anyone. Things change, circumstances change. Certainly Disney knows there will be some repurcussions by such changes but when the benefit outweighs the negative it's easier to see the outcome...Especically if, for example, the planned water park upgrades are a reason for a switch like this (simply used as a 'what if') then you should be able to see the legitimatcy of making such a decision...This doesn't make AWM's situation any less PAINFULL or RELEVENT, but it seems legitimate, IMO...

Too bad you don't have the benefit of being here longer. If so you would have noticed a gradual shift in many peoples views as Disney has changed (and not for the better). Again no one called you a name. If you don't like the debate topic simply don't read them or post to them. Stop telling other people what they feel passionate about is silly. Stop trying to compare life and death situations to Disney. You're the only person attempting to make that inane connection.

***"So it's the upkeep of the "theme" that cuases BB to go down for months at a time and WnW can stay open all year? "***

Europa, are you just arguing this for the sake of arguement ? BB and TL shut down for a combination of many reasons. The lack of a need for two water parks in the winter is one. They can do a more complete refurb with the park closed so as not to interfere with the guest experience. Some repairs require draining the water. With a two month window they can deal with unforeseen problems. And I'm sure there are many other reason for doing so. But I suspect you know all this already.

***"AWM has a right to be upset."***

Yes he does.I totally agree. I just hope in a few months, after a great trip in Dec (or is it Jan), that he cools down and realizes WDW i still the best place to go on vacation.

Passionate, hating Disney is a passion for you? I haven't seen one positve post from you. You make my point very well. An attraction being closed is not life or death, and therefore just not worth getting worked up over. While I'm at it, please don't tell me to stop anything (it's not your place to do so), it's kind of hypocritical for you to do so. On the one hand your telling me to not read something if I don't like it (obviously this one attracted me), and then you tell me to stop giving my opinion, so if you don't like my opinion, then don't read it, or reply to it. In my estimation of the 8 pages of posts on this subject, yours are the only ones filled with hate. Do you ever go to WDW?

Yes "Coach" from you 3 months on the boards...and 90 post you have pigeonholed me. Uggh..."hate" "mean Sprit"...go back to the community board where that sort of talk flies. "Coach" if I hated Disney I would not waste my time even bringing these issues up. Your confusing someone shifting though the lies and excuses of the current management to hate. Which is not the case. Yes I "go" to WDW just because some of us don't list our trips out like a cast system of spending, knowledge and pride in some sort of Disney class society does not mean that that we don't go or know exactly what we are talking about. So don't tell me what is silly and what is not.

I think some people here right now, quite a few, need to step away from the keyboard, walk out side, look at the world, get a soda, watch TV, then come back and tell me Disney is crap.

You can really get your mind worked up because of imaginary stress and problems that really don't exist. (not saying that AWM problem's don't exist).

Also, no matter how many post you have, if you have the experence and have somethig good to say, you are worth my ear.

EUROPA, I think your comments are worse than my first ones on ths topic.

I'm guessing that most of this is directed at me from the little hints.

I went out and got a coke and I still don't think Disney is Crap. Never said it to start with. Or were you talking abut someone else?

I don't even know what your talking about with Imaginary problems....care to explain more?

Number of post and time on the boards DOES matter when your attempting to tell someone else what their feelings are based on what you have seen and when you try to pigeonholed, label posters that have been here much longer then you have.

Which comments? If you can quote me and tell me how they are bad I will gladly prove you wrong.

Only the last part was directed at you, the rest was a huge general statement to the board which I find quite negative and would rather pick something to death and watch it die for their egos rather than see something fly.

Now see what you went and did? Lots of people are all upset and stuff. :p  :earsboy: :sunny: :earseek:

That sound you hear is me running away as fast as I can!! :p

I'm just glad that this forum exists. Everybody needs to vent sooner or later and if everybody can blow some steam in this thread and be friends tomorrow, so be it!!

That's just it AWM. I've seen tons of heated discussions here but eventually most posters seem to go back to their corners to rest for another bout. Plus some of those who disagree the most have become good friends.

I'm glad that you came here to vent and to let us know about the refurbishment changes. I hope that Wet'n Wild is fun. :)

I am going to say one thing here. When we were kids, well teenagers, in the 80s we used to love going to wet and wild. That was when Epcot opened, and we would 1,000 times rather go to wet and wild than Epcot, because as teens we thought it was sort of lame back then. It isn't themed like the disney water parks, but it is fun. It is sort of like if 6-flags was a water park. Here is a water slide, slide on it. That sort of thing, it is fun in its own right. I guess that things have probably moved along alot since the 1980s, but back then we thought it was fun.

Be carefull what you say about 6 flaggs. The one in Jersey opened "Hurricane Harbor" and it's pretty good.

Here's a link I use to see who's playing at PI. They also have a link for Rehab Schedules. They are pretty good at keeping it updated. I feel for you about BB. I hate rehab, but what can ya do? I'm trying to remember the good old days when you could RIDE Big Thunder Mountain....

Hey, I am going to Disney LAND in less than a week, and Space mountain, Small World and a couple of others are closed for rehab. I am not too happy, but "Ya Rolls Da Dice, Ya Takes Ya Chances..."

:bounce:
