Went to the mall at lunch to exchange shorts and get lunch to bring back to work.

OMG...I think I was more embarassed than hurt, but I tripped on a piece of hard plastic left on the floor in Lord and Taylor and fell flat on my face. What made it worse is that i was carrying a full 20 oz soda and it spilled EVERYWHERE. I picked myself up and just apologized to the lady for spilling soda all over the floor and asked if I should call someone to clean up (she called). I didn't hang around b/c I was mortified, but now I feel bad I didn't stay to help clean.

Minus my bruised knee and ego, i'm fine....i'll probably use a different short cut next time I go in that mall.

Did you jump up and say "and now for my next trick!"

Sorry to hear you fell. I'm the biggest klutz in the world, so I understand completely. Glad you're not hurt.

Wow, I know how you feel....that's so embarassing

Glad to hear you're OK!

Glad you're OK. :D

I did a dummy move yesterday. DH had a big wooden post sticking out of the bed of his truck, and yes, I walked right into it! SMACK! I now have a nice bruise on my forehead and nose.;)

We're all klutzy now and then.:D

Glad you're okay!! Stuff like that is so embarassing. Once I slipped on the downward sloping walkway leaving K-Mart. WHY DO THEY PAINT those things??? It was raining and I slid like I was ice skating. LOL! Ouch! Why do any of these places paint the pavement???????? At DS's school, they also painted the pavement walkways. I walked in the wet grass whenever it rained.

Don't feel bad, I fell on a homeless man just recently, coming out of Dean and Deluca. I fell right on top of him and spilled my coffee all over him. He yelled at me and called me a witch (but with a b!) and told me I deserved it for having fancy coffee.

Glad you weren't hurt, hillbeans (other than your pride, that is!) :)

I'm glad that you are ok.

Personally, I would write to the company or store and let them know what happened. Yes, it was an accident, but there are some people out there who would not be as nice as you and would sue them. I used to work in retail and my managers were fanatical about picking stuff off of the floor 1)because people will get hurt 2)because it just looks bad. That way they can be more vigilant about it. JMHO. :)

Maybe they will reimburse you for the pop? ;)

NO WAY!!! I take it you were imitating that car commercial? (LMAO hoping you've seen it so you know which one I'm talking about!)

Glad you folks didn't get injured. I'm a HUGE klutz too and you'd THINK I'd be used to it by now, but it's always embarrassing. No physical injuries, just a bruised ego. LOL

OUCH...that had to hurt. And it probably was scary too not knowing when you'd stop sliding down.

Snoopy - OMG...you gave me a very good laugh. You poor thing.

LOL at GrinningGhost!

Glad to hear i'm not the only klutz in the group....

I would have been embarassed too. But then I think I would have been angry. A soda I spent good money on-gone! And because someone left a peice of plastic on the floor?

If it makes you feel any better, I have a pair of flip flops I have owned since high school. I still wear them but there is no longer any traction on the bottom and everytime I wear them and it rains, I fall on my **** or face. It doesn't learn me though-because I'm out wearing the same shoes the next day.

I know how you feel!

I fell outside of this huge grocery store/ cafe. Right in front of a big picture window. The place was swarming right at lunch time.
I tripped on the cobblestone. I was 8 months pregnant. All belly and BIG.

I'm sure it was a sight.

Luckily, I landed on my hands and knees. I was shaken. Terribly shaken. Picked myself up, adjusted my sunglasses and went in for the items I came for. Bloody knees and all.

(I thought at the time noone would know me with my Jackie O sunglasses on.)

I didn't cry till I got in the car. My child and I were both lucky that day. I still have marks on my knees from that fall.

Anyway, it is very very embarassing. Glad you are ok.

Did you say "TAAAAA DAAAAAAA"

-------------------------
Why would they put a piece of plastic on the floor. I don't get that either, but I would have reacted the same way if that happened to me.

You're not the only one who's done stuff like that.
I fell walking through my school cafeteria a few weeks ago. I was wearing flip flops and there was a puddle of water on the floor. This was between classes, and I was headed to my locker with my friends. I slid and went down on one knee. Bruised my knee really bad, and my ego even more.
Glad you're ok!

glad you're ok!

We've all done it. 4th grade, me walking in front of the boy I had a crush on, clunky with moonboots with a rainbow on them... you know what happens next. it was so embarrasing.

Snoopy - I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything, I would have spit it out all over myself!!

Ouch!!! Good to hear you are okay and doing fine. I'm getting too old for those kind of spills.

You'd better not be wearing those now that you're PG or you may have an incident like Ocean Annie!

Ouch. I am glad everybody has recovered from their scrapes and bruised egos. I too am a klutz. Right before I was to leave for Mexico with my ex and his neighbors and whole extended family I fell down the stairs and really hurt myself. Then last month there was some water on my kitchen floor and I fell, slipping into the table. I was alone but I was still embarrassed.

I did the same thing last night!
I was walking up the stairs at the mall and tripped and fell and spilled my drink all over the place. I was laughing at myself so hard because I am sure I looked like the uncoordinated dork I am:D
My DH was quick to find someone to tell I had spilled something on the stairs that he didn't even ask if I was OK. I guess I was laughing so he knew I was OK.
He was nice enough to tell the janitor type person that "Someone" was spilled a drink on the stairs.
As for writing a letter to the store- I think that is a bit overracting.
