For anyone interested.

I just came back from a trip to Disney and stayed at the Vistana Resort. I booked my trip through a referral someone from TUG
I stayed for 4 nights a the Lakes Poolside for about 260. I attended a timeshare presentation where I was offered a biannual week at the Vistana Villages for about $8000-9000. (A bit much to me but I don't know much about timeshares)
I kindly told them that I do not make decisions involving cost such as this so quickly. Not a problem. They then sent someone else over to extend the offer ( to allow me to think about it) for a cost of $159 down and $100 per month for a year. These fees would then go towards my timeshare purchase. "NO THANK YOU"
Anyway, it actually wasn't that bad. It was over in about 60 minutes and we were off the the parks.
Overall the place is very nice. I can tell that the Fountains are not kept up as well as the other places. So anyone that is interested in staying a Vistana, opt for the Lakes or Cascades.
Oh yea, At check-out I cashed my $100 check that I recieved from them for attending the timeshare presentation. Not a bad deal and I recommend this promotion for anyone not turned off by timeshare presentations

You did good!!!
you can generally get a timeshare in Orlando on the resale market for between $2,000 to $5,000 - except DVC

for an every other year - what you were being offered - $1,000 to $3,000

pat yourself on the back - you would be surprise at how many will buy at these sales pitches.

My tip of the day;

When going to a time-share presentation, always bring along a small child (under 3). Preferably one who screams in an ear piercing manner!! If you don't have one of your own, I will rent you my DS2. His shrieks make dogs howl.:jester: We were out in under 30 min.s. We said "no", they said "okay, buh-bye";)

At the Wyndham Palms they wanted $27-29 K!!! :eek:

So I presume the sales pitch at Vistana isn't that hard a sell. We go in 2 weeks, although I own there, I bought it resale from a friend.

Maybe I'll try the Vistana tour for a hundred bucks and get to see inside the Cascades unit.

Did Vistana offer you the deal for the tour when you checked in?

The tour and hundred bucks were all planned. I made my reservations through a TUG member.
