I just booked an extra night...was that a bad idea?

Today must be panic day or something.:eek:I need some reassurance here. We've been booked at the Doubletree Guest Suites for 3 nights June 21 to 24 since March. After LMT raised their prices I started looking around for other deals on Hoppers. The convention rate was $159 for a 3 day but no MM.
Then I found Get Away Today and could book the DT GS for 4 nights for $107 more, plus we get the 5 for 3 and MM. So we get 4 nights and more time in the park for only $107, but now I'm worried that 4 nights is too much. Is that crazy talk?
Originally I thought the extra night would mellow things out because we'd be less rushed during this busy time. Now I'm afraid that it's going to be too much Disney! Set me straight.:)

Too much Disney?? :confused3:confused3

Is that even possible? I think you'll be fine with the extra day. Enjoy your trip.

I'd say it's doable, but I'd definitely recommend planning some downtime (at least 2-3 hours, maybe even a whole afternoon) into that schedule. If my experience is any indication, the break will be sorely needed.

Yes, you will love and appreciate the extra day.
Have a magical trip.:wizard:

Thank you all :goodvibes. In case you can't tell I tend to second guess myself while planning trips. I'm the vacation planner in family so I want everyone to be happy.
This trip is because my DH has to go to a convention. Tues. & Wed. he'll be working until 6, then he'll need to decompress and we'll need to eat so that meant all 3 of us wouldn't be in DL or DCA until almost 9. It just seemed that extra day would make it less stressful. I figure if we've seen all we want at DLR we could drive out to Laguna Beach or something.
I guess I'm worried because my soon to be 17 DD got all poopy about 4 nights. 3 nights is great for her, she's thrilled, but apparently Johnny Depp will be washing cars in out neighborhood on the 4th night or something.

Agreed! If I had the option of tacking on one more day for Disney I would jump all over it. There really isnt much to think about. Enjoy every moment.

:)

Yes absolute crazy talk.

You can now have a more relaxed pace to work out the craziness.

I started with 4 1/2 days in the parks and now am up to 6 full days if that makes you feel any better. :goodvibes

Is there even such a thing as "too much Disney"?!?!;) I think that you'll definitely be glad that you booked an additional night; especially with the big crowds that are expected! Have fun!!!

I saw the title of this thread and thought "Huh? How could booking an extra night at DLR be a BAD thing?!!!" :goodvibes:laughing:

:rotfl:

Tell her J Depp is far more likely to be at DLR than in your neighborhood. :)

And 17 year olds aren't always known for their good decisions. I once made the decision to visit my dad for Thanksgiving (my frosh year of college) instead of my mom...and then my mom let me know, after I made the decision, that they would be going to the Bahamas and would have taken me. While some of that is definitely on my mom's not-giving-me-all-pertinent-information head, I should have known something was going on, because she and my stepdad had just gotten married and did have a timeshare. I should have realized something fun was going to be happening! Made that decision at 17, just before I turned 18. :)

Hopefully you went to the Bahamas next year?

I know she just all teen "angsty" right now. It wasn't fair to DH before, he wasn't going to get much funtime in only 3 nights. After sleeping on it I feel really good about it.
It's a really good deal: 4 nights in a 2 bedroom double queen suite at the Doubletree Guest Suites plus 3 5 day Park Hoppers for $1,100 total. We were going to spend $993 for 3 nights and a 3 day Hopper with no Magic Morning.
It was almost a no brainer to book the Getaway Today deal. :thumbsup2

My first trip as an adult with my daughter was back in 2004. It was the 4th of July, and we were there 14 hours. We came back two days later for 1/2 a day.

Our next trip was in 2007, and we went for three days.

In 2009, we went for four days and thought we were really pushing it, how could we possibly spend four days in the park? Well, they FLEW by, and we just weren't quite ready to pack it in when it was time. Tears on the last night when the ropes started going up at closing.

This year, we are going for eight days. 10 nights, 8 days in the parks. Now THAT might be pushing it. But we're excited!

You'll have a great time. :woohoo:

People think that I'm crazy for wanting to spend more than one day in the parks. I'm planning 4.5 days this June and that doesn't seem like enough.
