I have the rotation menu for Boma if anyone is interested...

Anyone? I know last year someone posted it which was where I found it. I'm really hoping to make reservations soon. Thanks.

tricia.

Did you know they sell the butternut squash soup every day at Mara? At only $2.50 for a large cup, it is a great deal. They also always have chicken pepperpot. The third soup rotates daily.

The squash soup is so rich and filling. I like to buy a bowl and then add zebra domes and chocolate crunch for desert from Mara.

That soup-butternut squash is awesome - I loved it so much that I asked them for the recipe and low and behold a few weeks after my return from Disney two years ago they sent me the family size version.

I make it on special occaisions - even dh likes it and he usually does not like any veggies at all :guilty:

So if you love the soup just ask them for the recipe - they will send it to you.

Where is Mara? located - never heard of it.

Denise

Thanks for the rotation. But what happens on Sundays?

We have nto decided if we are going on a Wed or a Sun. :confused3

I did email and asked for the recipe, I've made it severel times and it is great! I really want to take my boyfriend to boma for the first time this trip in september. We are both vegetarian and I had such a wonderful experience there in july that I want him to come this time!

If there is a particular soup one is looking for, you can ask one of the Chefs if it would be possible for them to make a batch up for you or they can defrost some for you. We were told this on our Culinary Tour last year at the AKL -- which is a fun thing to do and it's absolutely FREE!!!

The Culinary Tour is held daily and starts out in Jiko where you meet with one of their Chefs after taking a tour of the restaurant and when you're done at Jiko, your party is escorted to Boma where you meet with one of their chefs. Our chef took us down the entire line of pods and told us what to expect.

The Culinary Tour is open to anyone and is usually held an hour to an hour and a half prior to Boma opening. If you're interesed, you may want to call AKL directly and find out the time for your particular day of the week.[/SIZE]

Right now I've got Boma planned for a Weds night in September - the night of EMH at AK. It looks like we'd prefer the rotation shown here for Monday & Thursday - I'd love to know if this is still the current rotation. :)

me too. Do you think if I called they could tell me for september? or do they not plan that far in advance?

tricia.

When I made our ADRs for October of 2005 I was told they DO NOT follow that rotation anymore. I went ahead and made our ADR for the night that had the selections we were hoping for, and I figured if they didn't use the rotation anymore then it wouldn't matter WHICH night we went!

I don't know if they still do the rotation for soups, but when we were there they did not have multiple offerings of the same type of meat. There was prime rib, one salmon selection, and I think one chicken selection. We were hoping for multiple salmon selections but they just had the one.

Everything I tasted was very good, including the soup. I can't remember now what flavors they had that evening.

Good luck! :)

DH has a fondness for the spiced flank steak. If they don't have it on our first night, I'll just ask I guess to see when it might be out and shift things around a bit.

Does this look about right? Can anyone who's been to Boma recently compare this to what they remember being there? I NEED to know! :goodvibes

I was wondering if they changed the rotation too seeing it has been a few years. We made our ressie based on the 04 menu. Anyone have any new info?

We were there on the Thurs before Christmas. The menu seems to match what is posted above except I didnt see any pork loin, but I might have missed it.

yum...sounds so good! hope we get to go! :)

The dessert station is very different from what it once was. Zebra domes are still there and that's about it. I miss some of my favorites :sad1: the cookies are still there, but much smaller and I'm sure that's due to waste. I was bummed this summer when we were there. And, then, last week, they didn't have the cheesecake that they had this summer and DH was bummed out.

What about Sunday?:confused3

I read that Sunday is a mixture of all the different menus, and is usually not the same every Sunday. I don't know if that is still true either. :confused3 Maybe someone else would know more???

Either way, I can't wait to eat at Boma!!! :cool1:
