I probably won't be posting much in the near future, because my DH has just been dignosed with bowel cancer which has already spread into the glands.
It has come as a complete shock, and he is due for surgery on September 29th. We are trying to be optimistic, and all pulling together as much as possible.
Simon is home from Disney now and will be leaving for Leeds Uni this weekend. Our next vacation to Florida has already been booked for just after Xmas, but obviously we don't know if we will make it.
I know that you will all be rooting for us.

Carolyn

So sorry to hear your news, will be thinking of you all - keep strong.

Carolyn, this must be such a shock for you all. You know that we will all be thinking of you and hoping for the best possible news.

And please know that you will always be welcome to drop by and post as often or as little as you like. If any of us can provide an ear to listen, or just some diversion from time to time, you know where to find us. :)

My best wishes for you and your family.

Carolyn,

there is nothing i can possibly say to make you feel better but i can pray for you and your family which i will do. try and keep strong and we will be here on the boards when you come back.

I just recently started posting on the UK boards and just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your DH. My 11 year old niece was just diagnosed with cancer about a month ago so I know how difficult this can be on a family. Your family will be in my prayers.

Oh Carolyn, what an awful scary shock :(

Fingers & toes crossed and my very, very best wishes that the surgery goes well and results in a positive outcome for you all.

Keep us posted and we are here anytime you might might want to talk.

Carolyn, words are insignificant at these times. You all must be beside yourselves with fear and disbelief.

We just hope everything goes well for you.

Course you won't feel like posting, but we hope you'll find some comfort by lurking when you can, or feel the need, and knowing we are all there and wishing you well.

Love Dave and Valerie

Carolyn, I'm so sorry to hear this. I have your husband in my prayers, my friend. What a blessing that our Simon is with you now.

I pray that your husband responds well to his treatment and recovers 100%.

Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear your devastating news. All of us will be thinking of you and your family, and hoping for the best.

If it is any comfort , an uncle of mine was diagnosed with bowel cancer about 8 or 9 years ago. He underwent surgery to remove it and is still cancer-free today. Think positive thoughts.
