We had our Family Support Meeting last night and the highpoint was the video that our Marines had made for their families. Bobby sat there on a stack of sandbags, with an American Flag stretched behind him. All the while he was speaking, you could here helicopters overhead and the wind blowing - but we could still SEE him and HEAR him and that's all that mattered!! :D

He told us that he loved us, missed us, to please send Triscuits and to pet the dog for him. We laughed and we cried!!!

I also have my first photographs - from two rolls of film that he sent home to us. I scanned them this morning and I'll post a few of them here for you to see. One is of Bobby in his "hooch", one is of him in full combat gear and the third one is of him and his best friend Nick (who I know a few of you adopted). You can see in a couple of these photos, the "bag" worn on their hip - this contains their gas mask, which is with them at all times.

I know we have all been waiting on pins and needles for your post! Thanks for sharing them with us, I can only imagine the emotions you must be feeling right now. He looks GREAT!
God bless you!

Patty thanks for sharing these!

Patty,
I was on a business trip from Wednesday until 1:00 am this morning. I have to tell you that I have been on pins and needles this whole time, worrying about Bobby. I logged onto the DIS after 1:00 am this morning to make sure he was OK!:D

ALL of the servicemen/women, President Bush and our military leaders have been in my prayers nonstop.

I am so happy that you received that precious video and photos - I hope that Bobby receives my care package within the next week or two, I mailed out 2 to give the box size small. I am readying another one - is there anything besides Triscuits that he needs?

God Bless.

It seems that they reallly enjoy any kinds of munchies - things they can share. Also, reading material - newspapers, letters, cards from a group of school kids. It's ALL appreciated!!

Thank you for sharing the pictures, I've enjoyed all of the pictures and posts so far. I also just noticed you are from South Bend. I'm north of Indy now but I grew up in Granger. Ohhh I miss it up there! What I wouldn't do for some Hacienda's or Macri's Deli. Mmmmmmmm

Great pictures, Patty!! Thanks so much for sharing them with us!

Thanks for sharing those special pics...

Thank you SO much for sharing your pictures!

I have to say I, this is my first post on the Community Board, I usually just lurk, but these pictures brought tears to my eyes!

Patty,
I had stuck in the most recent issue of Reader's Digest - is he into hunting magazines or any other particular periodical? I confess to mailing out an Easter Bunny that disperses jellybeans in the first box!:D

Also - is there any favorite kind of Easter candy that he likes (besides chocolate)?

Sports magazines - baseball and Nascar are favorites of my son's.

But remember, any magazines received are probably being passed around and are "well read".;)

I'm sure the Readers Digest will be a good one, and I would think People Magazine would be another good one. It would keep them up to date on what's going on back here at home.

Thank you for taking the time to post those wonderful pictures. Our hearts go out to all those who are serving our country. Keep us posted ~as I am sure you will :p

May God Bless you and your family and all those serving our wonderful country!!!
