I have NOT been upgraded!

Quite right, BD!
But close!!!!!!!

Sally's was a blast - Michael got his hole in one on the 8th! Love the iguanas, birds and turtles in her tropical setting. She's very nice also.

Be sure to check out the unique carvings her gardener creates (for sale) at the office - very beautiful and one of a kind creations!

If you see Nicki, give her a hug for me!

My parents went on 8 cruises, I went on 2 of them with them. They have never been upgraded. They usually sail cat 11 or 9. They would rather sail a lot then not so often in a better room. :p Anyway, my mother just found yesterday that we did get ugraded to a cat 8 for our nov cruise. She is so excited. :earseek: I actually prefer the darkness of an inside cabin. But she is thrilled, so I am happy too. Was not expecting it at all, but they are pleasantly surprised!

If you do not want an upgrade I think you can say "no" as long as you had not booked a GTY room.

We are about to go on our 4th cruise next month and we have never been upgraded. I 'upgraded' myself this time around. We always booked Cat. 11 rooms before, and found them to be very nice and loved the location of each room we had on our other cruises.

This time I booked one of the secret porthole rooms! We have never had a split bath or a window, so I am excited. This will be my twin girls 10th birthday (Friday of the cruise) and they don't know we have a bigger room. So I am excited about our 'self made' upgrade <G>.

HEY---deck 2 ain't all that bad!!!! I'd book it again in a minute.

We had 2 connecting Cat. 10's on deck 2 aft. We LOVED them. Great location to areas we used the most and elevator service (when we used it, usually did the stairs) was much better than other areas of the ship.

And no upgrades here either. Got exactly what I had saved 12 months and had paid for! :p

We would have been the same way. First trip, we booked cat 10 on deck 7. Didn't know much about choosing, etc. We LOVED the location! Easy walk to just about anywhere we wanted to go. Second trip, we tried booking Cat 10s, only available were on deck 2. I told CM that I really wanted to be on Deck 7, we booked Cat 9 to stay on deck 7. We did get an upgrade (to a verandah), but remained on Deck 7. Had they moved me to another deck, I would have called and asked to be moved back. I think they might have noted it in our ressie since I was so adament about it when I made the reservation to start with.

There aren't any category 9's on deck 7 though from what I see. I'm getting really nervous about being on deck 2! I don't want to have the ocean in my face and feel like I"m at the bottom of the boat.
Well, now I'm not sure what to do. :(

bigsky,

There are people who are HUGE fans of deck 2. The ocean isn't in your face! I, personally, have a really stupid and irrational dislike for being down low in the boat, but you definately don't feel like you're in steerage or anything down there (you get on and off the boat in port on deck1). I just really prefer being up high and couldn't tellya why, but don't be worried about your reservation because of my nuttiness!

Lisa F,

Well, I'm just as nutty as you. I'm very picky about certain things, and can't tell u why I don't like something...I just don't!

I guess since I haven't been on this ship before, I don't know if I won't like it or not.

I do know though when we go on our next 7 day, I have to have MY verandah! My husband and I loved it last yr!!

Thanks!
Laura

Until then..I'm on deck 2.

Our Sept 25th doc's came today and no change. Still cat.11. Disney called and said there was a Cat 2 not being used anyway and did we want it, but I turned them down. I'd rather be that much closer to my wife.:D :jester:

I really can't complain at all,as far as I can tell, DU got us that lower Florida resident rate for our sail. Our final price went down!

I plan on taking my coffee down the hall to the aft deck on 7 and pretending it's my verandah. If you see someone in a robe with a paper in the mornings say Hi.:p

ROTFL!!!!! You are not at the bottom of the boat, as there are more floors beneath deck 2 (storage, crew cabins, etc.) and you do not "have the ocean" in your face, you are well above it and would have to look quite a ways down to see it!

But if you are truly that nervous about it, you may need to consider bumping up to a higher category and be willing to pay the money for a higher deck and the piece of mind it will possibly give you. Keep in mind that deck 4 is quite possibly the most beautiful deck to sit out on and enjoy the ocean from, and it is a mere 2 decks higher than the rooms on deck 2. :) Again, JMHO.
