I was in the bathroom getting ready for work this morning. DH Obi-Wan Pinobi had already left early since he had to work in the Outer Banks today. I heard a crashing noise like something had fallen over. A few seconds later, more crashing. My 4 dogs were in the bedroom with me so I knew it wasn't them.

I went into the living room and the dogs were sniffing like crazy. A bunch of stuff was all over the floor. I couldn't figure out what happened. Then I heard a crash in the den. The dogs and I ran in there and there was the cause. A Squirrel was in the house! And he was panicing BIG TIME.

Good thing I'm not afraid of any animals because it might have ended up like Christmas Vacation with me being chased by the squirrel! I was finally able to coax him out an open window.

I have no idea how he got in the house. I checked all the windows and they are closed tight. The fireplace upstairs has a glass door on it. The fireplace downstairs doesn't but the door to that room is shut. If he came in when DH let the dogs out then he has guts to get that close to 4 dogs. I even checked the attic - the door is shut tight!

I guess the only ones that know the answer to this are my parakeets and cockatiels that watched the whole thing with wide eyes..lol

Oh NO!!! My dogs would have had a field day with that!!! Mine cornered a HUGE 'possum in the yard last night. I think he bit one old girl on the foot. After the dogs came in, we tried to coax him to leave, but he was too scared to move!

My daughter had one that used to eat through the screens to get a the banana's.

Glad to hear you got him out before he did too much damage.

I'm glad it came out alright.

I'm glad you got the squirrel out so quickly! Years ago I worked with a woman who went home at the end of the day and when she opened her front door, she thought she had entered a murder scene. Her drapes were ripped, there was blood everywhere smeared on her walls, all through her house. Her couch was partly shredded, tables overturned. She immediately ran out and went to her neighbors and called the police. In the end they found out a squirrel had gotten in through her fireplace chimney and went nuts when it panicked and realized it couldn't get back out. That squirrel was literally bouncing off the walls, thats where all the blood came from. They found it dead in her upstairs bathroom. Yuck.

Oh my! I'm going out to run errands today. Maybe I should buy a more sturdy cover for the fireplace... I'd have been like SeaSpray's friend, even without the blood. I'd have grabbed my cell phone and been out of that house so fast you wouldn't believe it. That would freak me out until I realized it was a squirrel.

Back when I lived in a dorm, we were on the third floor of a building with a gorgeous oak tree right outside our windows. We had leaded glass, swinging panes, and the squirrels used to jump off the oak, smack our windows open, and run around inside looking for food. They were fearless. Once, a squirrel peed on my friend Bob's laptop (he lived near us). I got back in once and saw a squirrel trying to get into a box of Cheez Its in the middle of our living room floor. I screamed, barricaded myself in my bedroom, and called for reinforcements. My friend Gavin wound up pitching the squirrel back out the window with a lacrosse stick.

When I was 12, I left the sliding glass door in our basement open all night. Luckily, I discovered it before my mom and step dad and closed it early the next morning as I was leaving for school. Unluckily, two bats had flown into the house and made their way up to the living room. My mom totally freaked and they spent an hour trying to get them out of the house! The bats were "dive bombing" them! To this day, they think they came in through the fireplace. Even though I am 33 now and live two states away, that's the way it's gonna' stay! ;)

I would have been nuts!!!!!

A friend at work once had a barn owl in her house!

Yikes!!!

There can be only one answer...

Obi-Wan Pinobi is the squirrel's boyfriend.

:)

How in the world did you coax him outside? I wouldn't have had a clue what to do! Glad you have him outside your house now.

We had a squirrel get into our old house through the attic. Would never have known it had it not been for Mr. Simba chasing it down and trapping it, the DH got it out the window. yay for Simba! :D
