Hey guys...

When I went to Disney for the first time back in 1996 I rode a ride in tomorrowland that I really found neat..... I cant remember the name of it, but it was about airplanes and flight in general. At one part in the ride you went through a holagram tunnel that spun around. I really liked it and I think it is gone... Well, I know it is gone. I think it was around the Stitch's great escape area... Does anyone remember that ride?

Also, The other thing that I went home with in my mind, and could not get out of my head, was the smell of Main street after the rain. I came home and told my mom and dad how great it was. I could smell the bakery making cookies... I told my mom that I could not wait until I could go back!!

Well, 7 years later My dh, dd, and myself took my mother to Disney.... This was the first time I had been back since that wonderful first trip....

My mother looked at me and said " Jessica you are so right about how the smell of cookies fill the air" Funny thing is-- I had not said a word about it since 1996. My mom remembered from my story. That really made my day... I just love Disney. :goodvibes

Anyone else have some remember when stories????

I remember that ride too - it was sponsored by Delta, but the name is escaping me as well. I used to love that thing!!!!!

One of my favorite things to do it Spaceship Earth. Boring, I know, but I remember being a 7 year old kid and going to Disney for the first time and being MESMERIZED that *I* was getting to take a ride in the great big ball! I couldn't even believe it - I was more excited doing that then I was going on Space Mountain for the first time..... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

This was in the magazine they had in the hotel rooms!

First it was called IF YOU HAD WINGS and was sponsered by Eastern Airlines in 1972, then it was DELTA with IF YOU COULD FLY in 1987 and then it was DELTA DREAMFLIGHT within two years, and then it was just called TAKE FLIGHT without a sponser starting in 1996, ride closed in 1998.

I as well went in 1996 and was chickening out to go on that ride.. I do not know why lol I think because you went in an elevator.
Well my favorite memory is smelling Pirates of the Carabbean! You can smell it when you are listening to Yo Ho or watching the movie or just thinking of it. Also the cookies...

I loved that ride. I loved all those now cheezy, dated rides. I was so sad when it was gone. HOWEVER, I think Soarin' qualifies as a modern version of this ride.

My favorite memories are.....

My sister and I when we were little we use to wish that we would get locked in Disneyland and be able to spent the night there and ride all the rides over and over again.
The music you hear... I love it all
The feeling of walking towards the castle on Main Street and seeing all the balloons and all the smells...
Seeing my DD face light up when she saw something that was so amazing to her and watching her just have an all out blast at Pooh's Playful Spot.

Actually soo many memories.... I love them all. I have been luck enough to not have any bad memories... except those of leaving and coming home.
