For the kids to eat free do I need to purchas an adult meal?

NO the kids can just purchase and eat there. Ahh but that means they are 9 or under, so you would be with them? You may as well eat too!

Fan2CSkr is correct. Adults do not have to eat.

"Kids eat free" is part of a vacation package called "Kids Stay, Eat, and Play Free." You purchase the package deal of hotel and themepark tickets for the adults and with that kids eat free and also get free themepark tickets. See this: http://www.universalorlando.com/vp_index.html and then click on "Learn more." You do not have to eat for the kids to get the free meals. It is part of the package.

There is another deal for those who don't do a hotel package called the "meal Deal". You can purchase that for the kids and adults do not have to buy it at all either. But it is not free.
