A friend bought me a soy candle for Christmas. I'm a die-hard Yankee Candle fanatic, but I figured I'd give it a try. I love the soy candle. It burns so clean, even cleaner than YC's...and the scent is so strong I love it!

I feel like I've betrayed my best friend. I think I may need therapy when it's time to buy another candle.

Old Virginia. I have no idea where she bought it. Maybe I'm better off not knowing.

The one I have is Farm Grown triple scented...Strawberries & Cream, Blueberry Muffin and Blackberry Cobbler. It's almost all and now I can't find them anywhere.

QVC sells them, but I can't get the link to work. Look in their Candle Shop under Old Virginia Candle Co.

I've heard great things about Old Virginia candles. I've looked all over for them in a store around here (in Virginia) and I can't find the darned things. I absolutely HATE to mailorder.

I just got one of those candles for my birthday and you are right they are really strong! Its just plain old vanilla but I don't need to burn it b/c I can already smell in the whole house. I don't know the brand but it was poured into what looks like a sugar sharker so that the smell can come out through the top.

I have seen them at the Kittery Trading Post in Maine. I bought 2 different sets from QVC on auto delivery, one set every 3 months with "Stoppers". Most of them were good, but I don't like the triple scents, because they tend to run one scent into the next so you get the first one good until it's almost gone, then a mix of one and two, then a mix of all three when the second one is gone. Some of them burn all the way to the edge of the jar, some don't. The ones that didn't I scraped the wax out and used it in a tart burner. Soy way is very soft and melts at a lower temperature.

You can get soy candles at Cracker Barrel Gift Shoppes, too.

Hmm, I'll have to look for them next time I go to Cracker Barrel. They do burn alot cleaner than the regular candles.
