I can't believe it! I almost missed it, too. I read a little over half of the e-mail the other day and didn't pay any more attention to it. For some reason, I looked at it again this morning and saw the PIN. We're booked ASM Feb 12-18, 2006. Whoopee!!!!

I almost missed our email pin code too. DH said he got an email from disney about value resorts in jan and early feb. Thank goodness I came here and saw there an email pin going around. Luckily he hadn't deleted it and I read it in detail. We now have a tower mk room booked at CR for valentine's week!!

I know this code was to DH's work address and the only time he has ever given disney this address was when we booked our honeymoon. His other email address that he has used for other disney trips has never gotten an email code (only gets disney insider newsletter, disney.com updates, etc)

How do you get on the email list?

Never go to Disney - You'll get bucketloads of them!

Go to the Disney web-site and register everywhere you can. Send for the vacation planner, the cruise planner, ANYTHING you see! You'll start getting e-mails and hopefully one of them will eventually have a PIN code. It's taken me 6-8 months to get one.

Can I ask what the rates were ? Is it just a regular e-mail with a pin at the bottom? Please, someone fill me in!! :goodvibes

It's six nights/seven days for a family of four in a value resort including park hopper tickets for all days (w/five waterpark visits) for $1250. The subjest of the e-mail was like this:

Subject: Big savings on a Walt Disney World Vacation!

and was sent from:

From: "Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts" <disneyworld@vacation.disneyworld.com>

The PIN was listed a the bottom, in big bold letters, but I almost didn't read far enough.

Unreal - I'm paying $954 for 1 adult for 8 nights, with no plus options.

:badpc:

Yeah, it comes out to $322.49 pp for the whole week! :goodvibes

(I spent $89 more and got a preferred bldg. just to be closer to the food court/bus stop.)

I have to remember, you can't really break it down that way. Here's why:

The room costs the same, whether it's 1 or 2 people in there.

So, for example, on this new code that's going out where it's $433 per person - It's actually, $866 (x2 adults) - $250 (the cost of one person's 7 day pass) = $616 that would be paid if only 1 person was going. That comes out to an average of $103 per night for that 1 person, which if they were staying 8 nights like I plan on, would be $821. I'm paying $954. That makes things a bit more balanced.

That's where Disney gets you on these deals.

An easier way to figure it might be like this:

The total for 2 adults is $866. If you subtract $500 ($250 x2 adults) for the 7 day pass, that means you're paying $366 for the room for 6 nights. At rack rate, you'd be paying $474 for the room only. A savings of $108. Of course, if you add the 2 more nights on like I would want to do, the savings would be a bit more - $144.

I understand what you're saying, but I seem to prefer the per person cost when travelling with the kids/grandkids. I don't know why-that's just me.

At any rate, I'm pretty happy with the price we paid.

Just the price of the tickets ($268X2 and $231X2) comes to $998 so we're paying about $291 for the room which then averages $48.50/night, if you were to look at it that way.

Or. . $194 per day for all of us

and. . LOL!

I know what you mean - That's the way I try to look at it as well.

I got pretty psyched up about this possible promotion coming out next month, but realistically, it won't do much for me going solo - Might drop the price a bit.

Best case scenario is to say, for 2 adults only, the passes are $250 each, so you're paying $366 for the room for 6 nights, which comes out to $61 a night. If I could get that rate, for 8 nights that would bring the price of the hotel down to $488, plus $260 for an 8 day pass = $748. That's a savings of $200. I would be VERY happy with that. Somehow, I just think Disney will have some way around that.
