I don't want to put garage sale prices on it so I don't want to do it that way. I don't want to ship it so I'm not sure eBay is my best bet. I *could* put it up and state it is pick up only but I wonder how many local bites I would get. It wouldn't cost much through eBay.

Has anyone sold nice furniture in the newspaper? Did it do well? I'm just not sure what to do with it all!

Have you considered a Consignment shop? The shop usually takes a % of the sale when it sells or lets you "rent" a space to put your furniture. That way people could see it and you would probably get a better price.

Do you have the Green Sheet in your area? A lot of people use them and seem to have some success.

I've seen a lot of people make signs and then hang them up at grocery stores. You may want to try that.

Mosmom, I'm in the same position. Dh just wants to give it all away, but it's nice stuff and we've already given a ton away (we're moving). I like the grocery store idea, I might have to try that!

Actually you can sell through Ebay and not have to ship it. If you click on Search at the top of Ebay's homepage, the Basic Search page will come up. A little ways down is a drop down menu for Item Location. Click on the closest major city and you'll see that many people stipulate no shipping for large items and that they have to be picked up.

I'm thinking about doing that as well. I've got one more yard sale coming up and anything that's still here after that will go on Ebay.

I've actually sold a few things using them. Best part of all is there's NO CHARGE!!!
